What would you have done if you were in the pub when they walked in?

Shelflife

I would have found this offensive, naked bottoms on public seating - 😱
OMG! No ,no , no.
It may not be against the law to be naked in public but surely the manager/ landlord should have politely asked them to leave.
These two were out to cause a stir and are exhibitionists!

The landlord agreed to it!

The couple phoned first and asked - the pub "welcomes" everyone’s individuality and differences.”

Sorry blush

Perhaps they got a free meal in exchange for the publicity.

People are reading quite a lot into this I think. And imagining a lot!
eg. being face to smelly bum (how would that happen without intent?)..
grin

One report said the man was "doing helicopters" 🤔 whatever that means.

The review reads: "Just popped out for a quick drink and was faced with a man completely starkers doing helicopters while his other half cheered him on.

They then sat down to eat, thankfully the establishment covered the seats with bin liners first. All in all a really weird place to allow this sort of thing, think before taking the kids there!"

However, some reviews which were reported in the press seem to have disappeared from TripAdviser 🤔

Would Neil have undertaken this little adventure on his own - without Danielle. Or indeed, would Danielle have done it without Neil?

'Coupledom' gives this venture its respectability. What if Neil's companion had been another male, or indeed, two other males? Or Danielle's friend was another female, or two? Would this change the dynamic?

The team at the pub described this as a "learning experience". I didn't experience it - but I'm 'learning'.

I understand the benefits and pleasure of being on a beach, mountain, nature trail, in a wood, field, lake - unencumbered by clothes. Sitting by your tent, caravan on a campsite, doing 'your thing'.

But ambling around town in crowded enclosed venues - with a necessary backpack stuck to your back and shoulders, then going into the intimate atmosphere of a pub where you will most likely have to edge your way around tables at about the same height as your genitals and bum, faff around with your back pack, spread towels on your seat, keep watch for anyone who might be offended enough to accost you. And (according to reports) whilst you're munching on your burger, accommodate those who want to pose with you and take a selfie (presumably to post on Instagram or FB) ???

Can anyone explain how this might be a relaxing and pleasurable experience? I'm willing to "learn" grin

Yikes!

Thanks for the post at 7:05, NotSpaghetti. I suppose with Scotland’s weather there wouldn’t be much to helicopter with. grin

Anyway, I’ve been put in mind of Ray Stevens and The Streak. ‘Don’t look, Ethel!’ 🤣🤣 www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtzoUu7w-YM

Oh.
That isn't true, I'm sure.
I just thought he was waving his arms above his head as he weaved his way between tables!

HeavenLeigh Fri 09-Jun-23 12:39:14

It would certainly put me off my meat and two veg! Complete attention seekers !

sodapop Fri 09-Jun-23 13:03:31

The naturalist/naturist confusion made me smile too, watch out David Attenborough smile

I think these two were just exhibitionist, true naturists have no wish to offend anyone.

If it’s not illegal to be naked in public why did that hiker guy some years ago get arrested so often? 🤔

Had I been in that pub I’d feel a bit yuk at the thought of bare arses on seats. 🤢 Maybe the publican gave them a newspaper each to sit on.

Indecent exposure, never mind the intention of the perpetrator, anyone who exposes themselves and the victim, you / I, is caused distress, harassment or alarm. Warrants arrest. Time our laws with regard to this is tightened up. Want to go naked, do it n your own home.

Norah Fri 09-Jun-23 14:42:37

grannydarkhair What would you have done if you were in the pub when they walked in?

Leave.

Pay if already served, still leave. I so dislike eating in restaurants, naked people near would definitely cause us to drive on home.

icanhandthemback Fri 09-Jun-23 14:51:13

Isn't there a naturist walker who is always in court because of his nakedness? It strikes me that the law should be better defined one way of another.

I find it strange that supermarkets and other places ask for teeshirts to be on before entering the premises but here you can walk in starkers.

3nanny6 Fri 09-Jun-23 15:15:17

They are attention seeking, if they want to be naked then I think they should keep to the designated areas that cater to that way of life. There are designated beaches and off the track walks for naturists so why bring their bits and show them off to people who prefer not to live that way.
As for going into a dining area where people were eating I would ask for a refund on my food and leave.

Cherrytree59 Fri 09-Jun-23 16:45:04

What would they have said, if I (we) rocked up to their pub on naturist site fully clothed.

They are selfish, they have only considered themselves and not fellow drinkers / diners

It's the sense of entitlement that would bother me, not so much their bits flip flopping everywhere, although on second thoughts , that as well!

Can't abide by the shirt Aff, at this time of year . 🤮

Jaxjacky Fri 09-Jun-23 16:53:10

Gosh, we love eating out Norah it’s a treat, not sure about unexpected naturists though!

Philippa111 Sat 10-Jun-23 11:21:29

Each to their own but I did think it was an offence for a man to show his genitals in a public place?
If you want to be nude you’d be much better off in a place where everyone else is doing the same.
Maybe they both have an exhibitionist streak.
I’m not a prude by the way and when I lived in California I went to nude beaches and nude concerts.Time and place!

Jackiest Sat 10-Jun-23 11:21:59

The couple respond to the criticism. There are far more important things in the world than what a person wears or doesn't wear.

My feelings are more important than anyone else's.
Other peoples boundaries arent important. When people say no I get upset.
Just translating the article grin

wetflannel Sat 10-Jun-23 11:24:40

Why just why. Yuck enough to put me off my food.

FannyCornforth Sat 10-Jun-23 11:32:16

I’ve read the article.

They aren’t actually a couple.

They are both in a relationship with other people.

It seems that they are just friends who like to do stuff without clothes on in public together.

All very wholesome. 🙄

Neil also says that people in the pub approached them for a photo.
Just as you would do in normal circumstances.
I’m sure most posters phones are full of snaps of them with complete strangers in a variety of different boozers.

MrsThatcher Sat 10-Jun-23 11:33:36

A pair of attention seeking creeps 🤮

Amalegra Sat 10-Jun-23 11:38:19

I think that some people just love to make a point! If it’s not illegal then anyone objecting is just an old fashioned reactionary bore, obviously. As with any of the freedoms we enjoy in this society ‘with rights come responsibilities’. I think many people forget this while forcing their ‘rights’ on other people.
