Did you have a favourite Teddy Bear?

I did!

Cant remember his name.
But for some reason, my mum kept him.
He went through the wash several times, and looks like he has.

No teddy!! But a rabbit called Cuddles!

Definitely and still have. As recounted here recently, I went into a shop and saw a lonely little red bear in a corner begging to be given a home. At £300, I had to leave the shop with a heavy and guilty heart and no bear.

No I didn’t have one, always had my head in a book but it hasn’t made me clever.

Yes and I still have him.
He sits in the under-bed storage alongside his best friend.
He's been with me through thick and thin and across continents.

Yes, teddy is 73 now and sitting beside my bed with several other “special” bears gifted over the years. Teddy wears a cardigan I knitted for my teenage doll back then, patched paws and pads and re-embroidered nose!

Not a bear, but a spaniel called Pongo. He eventually leaked straw and collapsed . My parents bought me another, identical Pongo, but I never liked the second one. It just wasn’t the same.

I’ve only ever had the one bear, Edward. At 68 he was looking a bit disreputable, saggy as he’d been well loved and was short on straw stuffing, the stitching around his mouth and nose mostly gone. When DGS6 managed to unscrew one of his glass eyes, I had to act, though quotes for repairs were eye-watering.

I was lucky enough to spot a stall at a local fair full of handmade dolls and teddies, and the lovely young lady manning it agreed to give Edward a gentle renovation for £70. He now sits in the corner of the sofa, looking very proud of himself.

Mine was called Edward too and I still have him. My mum had to do a quick repair on him once when the dog chewed part of his face whilst I was at school
He here somewhere in this house with other soft toys I have gained through the years ... But he is my favourite ... I am going to look him out to check he is ok!

Some lovely teddy bear stories on here.

I still have mine. I have a feeling he might have been a second hand bear when I was given him but I didn’t help his looks by trimming his fur and undoing his back to see how his growl worked.

I have one who was a present on my first birthday. He languished in a drawer for many years, after our last dog, as a pup, chewed his face off.
The Teddy Hospital eventually restored him to virtually as good as new.
He ought to have a tartan ribbon round his neck but at some point the Gdcs discarded it - goodness knows where it is now.

I still have mine. He was bought from M n S for my first Xmas too long ago for me to admit to. I also have a small Harrods teddy who goes everywhere with me and has a bigger wardrobe than I do especially since I started getting t-shirts printed for him!

Now I did not, I had a small lamb called 'Gertrude' with a lovely red collar. Until we had a kitten, and Gertrude was left on the shelf.

Yes. His name is John and he is 72 years old, a present on my 4th birthday from my Nan!

I had one my mother made called Timmy Teddy. She had a friend who was a furrier and gave her some fur tails - my bear had a fur tail which felt lovely to stroke. My mother made a few for friends and they were called Tommy and Tammy Teddy. I don't know what happened to mine but friend still has hers.
PS - I'm not a fan of the fur trade, before anyone attacks me for having fur.

I had a stuffed tiger ! My favourite of the "big cats" ..

I only ever had one teddy bear and I don't know what happened to him when I left home age 19. What puzzles me is, why do I think of him still and wonder where he is?
