Good morning from Bristol. The dawning sky is clear, we are promised another hot day. Thankfully, the nights are still tolerably cool. Been awake for at least an hour.
I trust that Mick is doing well after his surgery and will be back soon.
It was hot yesterday wasn’t it? I made some of my famous Nutella brownies for this morning’s coffee with the inmates. I’m not sure how long I’ll be there as a meeting planned for Friday has been brought forward to this morning.
My shopping trip was very early as the mile-long walk in the sun would have been appalling. I’m not good at all in the heat; I become very grumpy and listless.
DS came in the afternoon, we had a large lump of gammon for dinner. In other circumstances, I would have made him a Christmas dinner but knowing that a) I wasn’t at home last Christmas, and b) I was moving, I didn’t make any preparations for such.
After dinner, we went to the church to start putting up rails and sorting out clothes for a clothes exchange on Saturday. DS’s muscles were much appreciated for assembling the rails.
This afternoon, I have a book group meeting in the local library. My first. We’ll see if I get on with the people and the books..
I hope all is well for everyone. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩

Good morning/afternoon all from the very hot Scottish Borders. I'm in the dentist's waiting room.
Sorry to hear that Mick's diagnosis isn't great but at least he was able to have surgery.

I hope most of you are enjoying the heat. I like it a little cooler. I went for my walk yesterday evening and will do the same today.

Thank you gwen for the news about mick.

Goodness gingster your daughter is having a tough time.

We found a young starling on the path in front of our bungalow greyd, blamed the local cats. . Seems to be the season. Our starling has a final resting place under some shrubs. Couldn’t cope with putting it in with the rubbish.

Hope the sea air is helping maryd.
