Good morning from a bright, cloudless Bristol, in loco Mick, who I trust is progressing well.
Wasn’t it warm again yesterday afternoon? I’m so very glad that the nights are still in the low teens.
My inmate coffee morning went well; I met different people. The last one was very full, the first in some 6-8 months and also people were keen to have a dekko at me! I found out that 4 flats in the complex were empty. All victims of probate, one for nearly 2 years now. Scandalous!
The book group went well, with the usual person more vocal and tending to monopolise the group. Very few enjoyed the book, which is always a good thing as it causes much discussion.
Today, I have a tā€ai chi class, then go to my weekly dinner at DD’s.
Happy birthday/anniversary to those with them. Hope the poorlies feel better and manage the heat.Carpe diem šŸ¦©šŸ¦©šŸ¦©šŸ¦©ā¤ļøšŸ¦©

Good morning all from another hotspot in Wiltshire. Having a BBQ later for family before they head off to Devon for a few days. On Friday we are having new 6’ wooden gates on our drive fitted as the current ones have ā€˜dropped’ so many times they are no longer usable. And all our windows and fascias cleaned.

Glad to hear Mick is recovering well. Thinking of Gingster’s poor daughter who has gone through such tough times. Hope everyone has a good day and all of the poorlies get better soon.

Glad to have Mick news.

Good to hear of settling in GM its one of the things I'm considering so reading with interest.

Morning from a sunny S Yorks, I did the washing last night so's to put it out first thing..

I re-twigged my back last night, very painful: I've been doing the physio exercises but what I need to find out is what movement does the damage - it's not obvious at all. So rather doped up.

Hooray my cleaner comes she's young and strong so can do some lifty things.

sorry to hear of others poorlineeses and may outings, holiday breaks, haircuts etc go well.

Another sticky night means I feel weary when I wake so I am looking forward to a slightly cooler feel to things in a few days. Am driving a friend to have coffee with some ex-neighbours and am in a mild panic about it - why? I have a sat nap as well as clear instructions but can’t visualise the route and am worried. Never used to be like this.

Hoping for news of the stoic Mick; glad Marydoll had a good day out, and hoping that Gingster’s DD can be home soon. Full of admiration for gMattie and the way she is finding her feet in her new home - an example to all of us of making the best of things.

Good morning, Mattie, and Mick who I hope is doing well. Going to be another hot one in South Yorkshire. I read two new poems I had written at writers group at the library yesterday and they went down well. I learned that the group had been going for twenty two years - they have a phenomenal body of work between them and are very talented people; I could just sit and listen to them all day. Then I came home and an old friend rang me and we had a hilarious hour and a half on the phone. We always make each other laugh. Today I am out for my usual Thursday morning walk. I usually have lunch with DD but she is going on an outing to Chatsworth with her work colleagues today, so I will call in and take DGS for lunch instead. He has no exams today.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from bright and sunny N. Bucks. Today I am not listening to any moaning about the weather.

Morning at home today, bits and bobs to sort out.
Sewing group this afternoon and hopefully some sketching this evening.

A good day wished for you all.

Good morning everybody from hot sunny Carlisle.
I shouldn't complain but I can do little in this heat, certainly not gardening. I did manage a bit of deadheading before the sun got round to the back and later had to water but digging holes for plants, no!
This morning I have to go into town for a dental appointment. Only a check up, arranged weeks ago, but I have problems with a broken tooth and an iffy crown and can barely manage to eat on one side. I am fearing the worst, an eventual extraction.
Afterwards, I'd like to have a wander round the shops but feel it will probably be too hot for any exertion.
I'll probably catch up with some admin. One job has proven fruitful, I have generous compensation for my delayed train journey last week, over 40 minutes late into London but not the train company's fault though.

Have the best possible day everyone and best wishes to Mick

Good morning from Durham. Another fine day in store, but the garden could use some rain.
I’m not sleeping well because I can’t have my upstairs windows open because of the bird problem - the pecking started at 4.08 today!
I’m heading down to Harrogate - I feel the need to get away for the day, especially as I’ll have DD2’s dog here for a couple of weeks and won’t be able to go far.
My thoughts are with Urms and hoping Mick will be back soon, with a treatment plan in place.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a warm Co Armagh
I’ve been out watering my plants with saved water , I can only do it early before it gets too sunny
I’m planning on walking up to Mass with a container of water for the planters on the family grave , at least it’s cool inside the Chapel, I hope not to send the temperature up by lighting too many candles

Marydoll,I am indeed an early riser. I wait until 5ish to post, having been awake for a good hour. No wonder I need my afternoon nap!
Wyllow, a long time ago the the proverb ā€œlaugh and the world laughs with youā€¦ā€ burned itself into my consciousness. My sadness and grief is my own. No one needs to see me wallow in a puddle of self pity, and the only way out is of my own doing. So I make a tremendous effort, although I am naturally shy and rather introverted.

Good morning all. I have attached the photo I took from my bedroom window at 11.30 last night. The sky stayed like that all night - I love this time of year when the weather's good!
Although we don't have the intense heat here that the rest of you are experiencing, all things are comparative and I too am feeling too hot and with no desire to eat - I was still nibbling away at the salad I made at lunchtime for my tea, augmented with the occasional ice lolly of course. I shall make another salad today I think, with a little bit of smoked salmon thrown in. At least it means that if I do feel the need to eat there's something healthy on standby.
Lovely to read of everyone's busy-ness, outings and holidays - with some lovely photos thrown in. I'm hoping to get back to tai chi next week as I'm now managing to do more of the set each day. I'm really missing the exercise and my lovely 'students'.
Enjoy your day everyone, however you spend it, and I hope those who are poorly feel a little better x

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. It remains hot with clear blue skies. Hope you’re doing ok Mickand we hear from you soon.

A restful day yesterday, after overdoing it on Tuesday. Nothing much planned for today, other than remembering to do the meter readings and picking up a prescription.we’ll see how the day goes.

I love all your beautiful photos, thank you for sharing them.

Safe journey to any travellers and healing thoughts to any poorlies.

Have a good day all 🌻🌻🌻

Taichinan Thu 15-Jun-23 09:46:53

grandmattie that is my mantra too. But I hope you really are settling in as well as it sounds you are. It's a huge change of lifestyle, but with the great bonus of having your DD and her family near by.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where I can see the sun sparkling on the water.
I've already done a food shop in Lidl. I went early as DH needed the car.
I'm having a manicure at 1. I can't decide what colour to go for. Any ideas ???
I hope everyone has a lovely day xxx

That second post, GM, it resonated with me too and I always have that cheery face and why I am always busy and looking on the bright side flowers

Also Taichinan flowers

Wyllow3 Thu 15-Jun-23 10:59:09

Well done you GM.

The appeal is a measure of "community", tho I am aware it's a carefully negotiated territory as a newbie.

Taichinan Thu 15-Jun-23 12:46:52

Thank you karma. A smile hides a multitude! I wish I was as formidably productive as you though! flowers
