According to this theory a day time nap is very good for you Well I nap for Britain and as soon as I sit down I m away
What about you ?

If I fell asleep during the day I'd be thinking I was ill. Can hardly sleep at night, let alone daytime.

I m with your husband sodapop I can nap on a hard chair, in an easy chair, in a deckchair (probably standing up although
I ve never tried it) and I still sleep (in chunks) through the night Usually have one or two breaks in the night but I m not worried about that. I donโ€™t feel tired during the day but nod off as soon as I m not in an up and running position ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thick as mince, me. No matter how tired I am I cannot ever nap during the day. Not even on a long haul flight. I sometimes find myself dropping off at 9pm though. Can this count?

Yes I enjoy the odd zizz. Life of little schedule helps this along nicely. If I have an appointment of any sort I always set my phone alarm as an aide memoire. Need all the help I can get!

When I was a teenager I had an hour's bus journey to and from work, I was very good at sleeping on the bus. I never missed my stop once. Now I very rarely nap during the day. I am not very good at sleeping during the night ( years of night duty ), so I don't sleep or nap during the day.

Yes, Iโ€™m a napper

Oh, I wish! I still work, and get only 30 minute lunch break. DH has a lie down after lunch, and so does the dog!

Every time I had a nap the cat would curl up and join in. Trouble was that he snored and when I say snore I mean snored loudly enough to be a nuisance. After he died of old age, I started to enjoy my naps again and luckily the French Bulldog I recently inherited, is a very quiet sleeper, unlike most of his breed.

If I'm not on the school run I sometimes doze off for half an hour about 4pm and wake feeling good to go. However if I have the GCs here and I am too busy, I don't really miss it.
My main problem staying awake is when I am a passenger in a car driving along the motorway. There is something about that continuous, unchanging road noise and being unable to move out of my seat that makes me really drowsy. I only wake when my head drops suddenly.

I could nap for England. I gave up going to the cinema as sitting in a comfy seat in a warm dark place was guaranteed to make me nod off. I'm not even kept awake by light as I was when younger. I often don't get enough sleep at night though!

At least I don't wake myself up snoring as I used to. Losing weight seems to have helped with that problem. If the snoring didn't wake me my kids shouting at me did!

I once fell asleep standing up in a crowded train on a hot day in the summer of 1976. I was only 21 at the time! I woke up as people started getting off and felt myself falling over! No wonder I nap now I'm retired!

I nap a lot during the day .
There's no warning - I just switch off usually watching TV .
I think that the sound of the voices sets me off .

I didn't used to nap during the day and I thought that my parents endlessly complaining about being tired and napping were odd .

Looking back less smoking , drinking and a healthy diet might have helped !
It hasn't helped me .

I guess that it's age !
I'm glad if my brain is young !

If I sit down mid afternoon to watch a pre recorded program (Good Morning Britain) itโ€™s a given that I nod off for 15 or 20 minutes - that program - full of non news and somewhat weird subject choices automatically sends me to sleep!

I nap a lot less than I used to!

Not really sure why.

I do nowadays, instead of hopping out of bed in the mornings, lie there for a bit and rest. That maybe the difference? But having said that, I am waking up earlier on the whole than I used to, anyway.

20 mins after lunch - refreshment of the gods!

Since reading that research I'm really embracing the nap. Not just waiting to see if I fall asleep watching TV. This past week I've been for a proper lie down. Usually seem to sleep for about 20-30 mins and waken feeling fab. Also sleeping longer at night even though this heat is awful. (My Fitbit tells me). Something's going on and I like it!

My mum would get quite narky if you suggested she go and have a nap instead of dozing off in the chair.
'I'm just resting my eyes' she would say, as though she'd committed a crime when she fell asleep in the daytime.
I love a 20 minute power nap between 2pm and 3pm if I'm tired and definitely feel better for it.
