Good morning Mick and all to come.
That’s a good idea Mick. It’s great that you’re improving. I think slow progress is the best kind in the long run. Nowadays we come home earlier and it’s easy to forget that we are convalescing.
The birds are singing quite loudly outside my window this morning and the Ddog only got up once in the night.
I’m off to the park later and will be sewing this afternoon so a quiet day here.
Take care, everyone.

Good morning from a cloudy Bristol. No rain…
I concur with previous posters, Marydoll. You are a feisty capable woman who happens to do her best to cope with ill health. We all love to hear about the MD family. ❤️
The lemon drizzle cake went down well at the “inmates’” coffee morning yesterday.
I finished a second dress.
Today, I’ve got t’ai chi and DS is coming for the night.
May today be good to you. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick good to see you are getting a bit better each day.
It’s a wet morning here in Oxfordshire, still recovering from the flu, I’m so good at sharing MrOops started sneezing yesterday and by last evening was feeling fluey too, I expect he will be spending most of the day in bed, but he’s still asleep so we will see.
Obviously not a lot happening here today.
Take care everyone, hugs for those feeling less than chipper today.

Good morning all. We are visiting the Apple Store in Bath today as my iPad is not maintaining its charge. I’ve only had it just for 2.5 years but have to keep it on charge most of the time. I’m sure it degrades further with every iOS update. I daresay it will need a new battery. Will have a mooch and some lunch whilst there.

GD3 who is in Reception year was beyond excited by her first school trip to the Wild Place in the Bristol area on Tuesday. GS2 had a really bad cough and a temperature on Tuesday. He had no sleep at all as he was coughing so much and was very grouchy so I was in recovery yesterday. I hope we don’t pick up whatever he has, as at the weekend we are staying overnight with DD1 and family and then visiting DS and his family for lunch on Sunday. We have managed to dodge any colds since Christmas.

Weather has cooled down but despite being overcast all day it still hit 24.5° when we were out for a walk yesterday afternoon. Still no rain worth mentioning.

Have a good day all. Hope all poorlies are feeling better and thinking of those who are looking after their ill relatives.

Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire. I have to pop out and fill my car up with petrol ready for our drive to North Wales for a holiday tomorrow. It is Book Group over lunchtime which is always fun. I should get packing too! Have a good day.

Good morning from the South Downs. Rain I think, and more to come.

Wellingtons for walk this morning. So probably a day in - I will take in those trousers I’ve been meaning to do for weeks.

Seabass in wine for lunch

Enjoy your day folks

Good morning from s somerset, we had some overnight rain and the air is a bit cooler, thankfully

Yesterday I spent the whole evening trying to stay awake. The heat has made me so dozy, my eyes so heavy. I did do a brisk afternoon walk, otherwise I would have had no exercise at all. Lots of knitting done while sitting outside all morning, the birds are so active in my garden now, a pleasure to watch

I am slowly starting to pick blueberries, just enough for every day right now and it will be full on soon. I shall hopefully end up with enough for many months, safe in my freezer.

I am getting on my bike this morning, seeing if I can still get up that hill

Have a lovely day

Morning Mick and All from a sunny West Sussex where we are in charge of our 2 DGSs 12 and 10 for another 9 days 😳

Have little time as I have to take a quick shower sort out the eldest DGS drive him to school then going shopping for the ingredients for some choc buns he is making at school tomorrow. They will never make it home as I suspect he will scoff them !

Marydoll please do not stop posting. You are a very valuable member of the Good Morning Clan. That is a order 😀

kittylester Thu 29-Jun-23 06:53:47

Good morning all from a soggy North Leicestershire- we had rain overnight. I love hearing it on the bedroom velux.

Not a lot on today except a Sainsbury's delivery at tea time DH has a drive first thing.

Have the best day possible all.

Jaxjacky Thu 29-Jun-23 06:57:02

Morning from a damp S Hants, at last we’ve had rain overnight.
Oh dear Oops sharing is caring, may you both recover quickly.
Enjoy Wales llfl.
Not much planned today, a walk, refine my food delivery list for tomorrow and some housework.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

RosesandLilac Thu 29-Jun-23 06:59:07

Good morning, looks like we had some showers too, we certainly need much more - I watched the sparrows dust bathing in on of my borders yesterday!
Took the dog for her vaccinations yesterday, the vet pronounced her in excellent condition and A1 health which is brilliant. Then we had a lovely walk around the nearby parkland, very peaceful and only a handful of other dog walkers. I will definitely go there more often.
I sat and read in the afternoon after doing a bit of gardening, everything is so dry.
Today it’s meeting some friends this afternoon but not a lot else 😊
I hope you have a good day 🌹

NannyJan53 Thu 29-Jun-23 07:08:04

Good morning from a brighter Black Country, where it rained yesterday, so feels a little fresher now.

Thursday walk this morning, then over to DD's to let the dog out, then over to Mums to go out to lunch. Tonight off to DGD4's school to see her in the school play. So won't be home until later this evening.

Popped over to my friends yesterday with a card and a small gift as she welcomed a 6th grandchild last week whilst we were away.

Wishing you all a lovely day

Nannagarra Thu 29-Jun-23 07:08:39

Good morning from Norfolk. As forecast, it is raining so a visit to a stately home has been planned - 👑 possibly.
You’re doing well, Mick; keep on carrying on at a sensible pace. I always enjoy your meal plans, WWM2.
Thoughts to those who are unwell and those struggling.

harrigran Thu 29-Jun-23 07:10:31

Good morning from a bright NE, only 12 degrees at present.
The geraniums on my patio are starting to flower and all the lavender is in blossom, the bees are loving it.
Did a big shop yesterday and SIL and I had a tapas style dinner with a nice chilled white wine.
We finished the evening watching a programme on iplayer about National trust treasures, it was Cragside, Seaton Delavel Hall and Cherryburn, all of which are within travelling distance of us.
Quiet day for me apart from some time spent watching more Glastonbury, SIL pointed me in the direction of The Hu and would like to finish watching their set. My house has always been filled with rock and heavy metal music, both AC were in bands.
Have a good day.

Good morning all and ITS RAINING!. So lovely to hear it. ☔️.

Yesterday I went to the jeweller who cut off my rings about 6 weeks ago. He said I should leave it for another month or so until he has a measure up , as my finger still hasn’t regained its shape. I don’t think it ever will and I miss my rings. 😢.

Bowls club this morning and then some shopping . We head back to our Suffolk hideaway again tomorrow, as ds2 and family will be joining us for the weekend. Dd and little gd were coming but she has a school trip tomorrow and doesn’t want t9 miss it. They’ll be other times!

Marydoll we would all miss you if you didn’t post each day. Please stay with us. 🙏.
Take care and continue to recover gently Mick.
Oops get well soon.
Thanks for the hamper link Ash and Mary. I’ve seen some nice ones.

Enjoy the day as much as you can 🌸

Ashcombe Thu 29-Jun-23 07:14:35

Good morning from a sunny Torbay, following a few cloudy ones.

Yesterday, in Le Mans, DH had an X-ray and scans to check his parathyroid activity to see which of the four was not absorbing calcium. . Untreated severe hyperthyroidism influences the degree of bone mass and increases the probability of high bone turnover osteoporosis, with which he was diagnosed two years ago. During this procedure, nodules were found on his thyroid so a biopsy was undertaken with the biggest (two centimetres in diameter) being sent for analysis. The doctor did not appear unduly worried that it could be anything sinister. He is happy for DH to return to the UK next month.

Have a good day, everyone, and keep on posting, Marydoll! 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

Greyduster Thu 29-Jun-23 07:15:44

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cool, but brightening South Yorkshire. Mick I’m glad you continue to improve - keep up the good work!
We had more rain last night which was good. I am out with the walking group this morning, then lunch with DD and GS if he’s around. This afternoon I will have to do a food shop - I have run out of just about everything. When DH was here, we never ran out of anything - he would be disgusted with me for my sloppy shopping habits!😁
Have the best day you can folks!

Greyduster Thu 29-Jun-23 07:17:34

Harri I absolutely adore Cragside!

Mizuna Thu 29-Jun-23 07:21:09

Oh joy, a very brisk breeze and max 17° here in Cornwall today! Today I'm seeing my knee consultant at the private hospital where our NHS orthopaedic ops are done. His secretary said that a review from him is the best way for me to stay on the waiting list. People are so kind. I over-walked at Trebah yesterday - it's steep and winding - so watched a film about Pixar last night to rest my aching knee. Two of my family are animators and I found the origins of Toy Story and other Pixar films fascinating.

Thanks for the Cornish Store link yesterday Marydoll, you IT pro! And forget that business about not posting again, you silly sausage. It wouldn't be realistic if we can't post how grotty things are in our lives. I wish I lived nearer you and that we could connect over more than patio fruit trees. grin

Pittcity Thu 29-Jun-23 07:21:29

Good morning from rainy Colchester. The cool freshness is most welcome.
I swapped my volunteering day this week so am going into the charity shop. We have a new volunteer so some training will be needed.
Love to all 🦩 x

Sar53 Thu 29-Jun-23 07:23:06

Good morning from a very grey and wet Essex by the sea. This is the first substantial rain for a long time.
I am going food shopping later after doing some ironing.
If it stops raining I'll go out for a walk this afternoon.
Please don't go Marydoll you are a big part of this lovely early morning thread.
Good to hear of your improvement Mick, slow and steady.
Enjoy Thursday everyone whatever you find yourself doing xx

Grandmabatty Thu 29-Jun-23 07:23:24

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° with partial cloud. No rain at the moment. It rained a fair bit yesterday evening. Mick it sounds like you are taking things easy. GrandMattie I'm a big fan of lemon drizzle cake. I use a Mary Berry recipe. Oops I hope the flu passes quickly.
Yesterday I sat in waiting for two deliveries; one didn't turn up at all and the other one didn't arrive until after seven o'clock. Dd turned up in the afternoon as she had taken the afternoon off. Dgs1 had a festival at nursery to celebrate those who are leaving. He isn't leaving but got stuck in to the face paint nonetheless. Dd wanted to borrow my KitchenAid to make a belated birthday cake for my friend. I'm having a wee group for coffee and cake tomorrow.
Today I have shopping to do for tomorrow and tidying up which shouldn't take long. I'll visit mum tonight. Have a good day all

Liberty Thu 29-Jun-23 07:48:06

Good morning from what looks like a damp Suffolk. No real rain but cooler and everything looks fresher.

Off to my stretch class in an hour or so and then lunch with 3 friends at a pub in a nearby town which has recently changed hands and has a growing good reputation for its food. We’ll see.

Thinking of those with worries about their own health or that of loved ones.

Gingster Thu 29-Jun-23 07:57:16

Yes Thankyou Mizuna for suggesting The Cornish Store. I might even order one for myself. When I was a child we always holidayed in Cornwall and sent back little packs of clotted cream for family and friends. Always much appreciated. 😋
