I usually get between £50 and £150 - but this month it is £350!!!!! - hooray!

Anyone else had any luck?

£125 for me, nice because I haven't had a blank month for over a yearsmile

Vintagegirl Thu 03-Aug-23 14:58:58

My gran bought me bonds in the 1950's, a total of 4.... I won £25 in 1967 and that has been it! Time to buy a few more!

£300 last month but nothing this month. Not complaining though

Staceyann Thu 03-Aug-23 15:14:53

£100 for us 👍

Premium Bond prize rate increased to 4% from this month's draw (highest rate since 2007) and odds of a win also increased. No wonder there are so many happy winners on here today. What a contrast with all those people facing today's news of another interest rate rise and struggling to see how they can manage with mortgages etc. It sums up the dreadful divide in broken Britain. I got a nice premium bond win today (£50) but it was accompanied by crushing news that our house sale has collapsed as our buyers have withdrawn their offer because of interest rate fears. Back to square one, housing outlook bleak and DH and I running out of energy. Note to other gransnetters: don't wait until you are 80 to downsize.

Just a very small win this month. Who are all these people who win big? Never known one….

My brother once won £10k, but then again he has £30 in bonds so chance is higher ..... money goes to money always!

Didn’t think you could have a £30 holding hmm

I’m pleased this month 😊.

I have still got the one from they were first issued. Have cashed in every other one.

Greciangirl Thu 03-Aug-23 16:58:14

I originally bought some in 1970, but have never had a win.
It seems only fairly recent ones are winning.

Anyone else have any really old bond’s that have never paid out.?

annsixty Thu 03-Aug-23 17:03:45

I am fairly sure you can have a £30 holding , they were sold singly in the early days and my D who is now 58 received £5 worth when she was a bridesmaid aged 5.
I must ask her if she still has them.
I expect she has no idea.

annsixty Thu 03-Aug-23 17:04:32

I imagine the poster meant £30k.

Beechnut Thu 03-Aug-23 17:13:14

I’ve got a single one from my childhood.

Suzy9 Thu 03-Aug-23 17:32:18

£275 this month, the most I've won so far.

HiPpyChick57 Thu 03-Aug-23 17:44:06

I’ve only got £200 in. A drop in the ocean I know.
Only won two lots of £50 in 18 years.
How does one check.

joannapiano Thu 03-Aug-23 18:07:26

£225 for me, £100 for DH. I check online, on the PBond website.

Allsorts Thu 03-Aug-23 18:08:48

£100 for us this month 2 x £50. Still waiting for a big one, but not complaining! Every little helps smile

Tenko Thu 03-Aug-23 18:40:51

My DH and I each have the maximum amount and get a win most months since we got them about 7 years ago . It certainly earns us more than the interest on our saving accounts .
I got £125 dh £325 this month .
My AC also have them as a saving vehicle for a property deposit and get wins most months

Yearoff Thu 03-Aug-23 18:51:46

£225 this month for me. The two big winners had both only recently bought their bonds. One was only April!!

Poppyred Thu 03-Aug-23 19:18:54

I think some people are luckier than others. I have a large stake but £150 is the most I’ve won in one month!

Love to see £10k and £25k winners with very small stakes. Maybe one day ……Thomas 😂

Hobbs1 Thu 03-Aug-23 21:15:42

I have a very minimal amount that was bought for my 1st birthday, I’m nearly 67 and have never wronged a single penny.
I think you need a substantial amount to have regular wins.

JenniferEccles Thu 03-Aug-23 22:28:23

Incidentally there are apparently a lot of unclaimed winners going back many years.
I think I’m right in saying there is no time limit for claiming a win, even from decades ago.
I guess people move house and forget to inform NS and I.

I’m sure it’s worth digging out any old certificates and checking online to see if they have won.

mumofmadboys Thu 03-Aug-23 22:32:51

We won 300 pounds this month between us.
