If you awoke one morning to find yourself in a book, who would you be? Shall I ask for your second choice as surely everyone has a yearning to be Bathsheba Everdene !
I have always loved Cassandra Mortmain. She speaks to my heart as much now as when I first read I Capture the Castle many moons ago.

I don’t want to be an adult, so I’ll opt for Drina in Jean Estoril’s Drina books.

I'd love to be Granny Weatherwax. To be able to do magic and practice headology.
Or perhaps Jane, swinging through the jungle with Tarzan.

Frieda Klein in the Nikki French series - clever, confident, self contained and she has a lovely little house all to herself!

Jo March of course.

Agatha Raisin by M C Beaton, if only for her fabulous handbag collection and beautiful home.

Loving these, I think it shows how wholesome, spirited and clever we all!

Oh yes GrannyGravy…for her perfect hairstyle too.

It has to be Elizabeth Bennet.

Pleased to hear it, Skye17.

Doesn't she have a stalker?

Miss Read of the Fairacre and Thrush Green books - a wonderful wry sense of humour and a thoroughly useful life.

I think my choices are all what could be called light weight characters from popular literature due to the fact that I overdosed on the classics at school.
