Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey cloud above and signs of rain on the ground here in brackley this morning.
Today , I will most likely go to Bicester on the bus and have a breakie type sandwich for a change .
I hope to have a Saturday like I used to , with a Chinese Take Away later .
As to myself , my weight is starting to comeback to what it was pre op ,as i do keep a record of it weekly .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick, the road is damp here too on the Cotswolds hillside, I’m not sure what today’s forecast is.
After clearing the ironing pile yesterday I didn’t actually do much at all for the rest of the day 🙄, just faffed around. Not that that’s a bad thing 😊
Today a dog walk first then sort out something for lunch and I will get some knitting done while I listen to podcasts or an audiobook.
Have a lovely weekend everyone 🌹

Good morning from Bristol.
I didn’t feel well yesterday and had an emotionally miserable day, matching the weather,
I made some peanut butter biscuits (very easy, 3 ingredients) and some chocolate tray bake for this morning’s church coffee.
Apart from that, I’ve got another empty.
Hope the unhappy and unwell have a gentle weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a damp South Downs. Lots of rain overnight but no thunder, although Duncan the dog was clearly expecting it as he shivered and panted, so I sat on the floor with him, until he calmed down with a cold fan on him.

DIL had the clips out after her ankle support was removed, so alls healing well.

Sons 50th birthday party today. All guests to arrive from 2pm, including Duncan, who will be delirious with joy to have all his beloved family together in one place.
Not sure what to wear, something casual I think as I guess we will be in the garden a lot. Nice to have the family all together - doesn’t happen often. My GS and his partner are making the cake shaped like a cow. (Long story) it is being iced this morning apparently. It is being made at my daughters as they live away near the university.

Peace and harmony to all.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 19-Aug-23 06:27:05

gm how are you today? Feeling happier I hope. I’ve made those peanut biscuits and everyone likes them, I bet they are the first to go at your coffee morning.

Afternoon! I went with my sister to the market in Manly this morning. We met my niece. She had bought a dress for her Hen Party next week. My sister bought a mock fur coat for 25 dollars. I looked at a selection of beautiful earrings but bought nothing! Later my sister drove us up to a look out point on the coast and we had a stroll. Dinner is at my ex sister in law’s tonight. Have a good day.

Good morning from a cloudy, breezy Torbay following a wet evening.

Another good performance of Dad’s Army, enhanced for me by having my DS and DGS3 (aged 7) to watch. The latter insisted on coming with his Dad; some of you might remember that he is just getting into acting himself - he had several minor parts in Alice Through the Looking Glass last month. I don’t think his Grandpa (my ex) was too impressed by his attendance. He told me huffily that they’d “had plans for the evening “. The recently bereaved family (who lost a three month old baby) are also staying and my DGS is helping to distract the older sister.

Unfortunately, our director has tested positive for Covid so isn’t able to see the final performances. I’ve rewritten the words of The Cornish Floral Dance to reflect the various shenanigans connected with the run. We’ll video it for her at our celebration between the two shows today. The photos show cast members with the coasters I bought for them! I found them online from a Dad’s Army museum in Thetford.

I hope the weekend gives you all a reason to smile. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a bright s somerset

flowers to GM. I know how you feel

I have different dungarees to finish today and I hope they fit, followed by a room and machine clean, needlecord fluff gets everywhere.

An exercise walk is on the cards after 5 when uv is low. I am hoping that my nose protectors come today, to keep the sun off, I want to go cycling but cannot use sunscreen until I have new skin.

Have a good day

A bit of a non descript weather morning, down South.

Not sure what doing today. DH was supposed to have gone off for the weekend. And I had made plans too. But both got cancelled.

Ashcombe Everyone, including yourself, seem very talented.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. There is blue sky, cloud and a breeze.

I tried something out for lunch yesterday with pasta and cheese. It wasn’t successful so I won’t do it again. Did some admin and then got distracted by watching the video of photos we put together for DH 60th birthday. Brought a tear to my eye and some smiles.

I’ve got to sort out my car insurance today and I’ll carry on with more crafting. First I’ll have my breakfast and watch Gardener’s World.

Enjoy your family party Whitewave and have a good day all 💐

Morning Mick, morning All. A very welcome clear sky over our corner of Somerset

Life is quiet in Cornerland. Sainsbury has been my most exciting trip out smile. Mr C has had a bumpy week which is to be expected. A very reassuring GP visit yesterday cheered him a little as he’d been worried about infection. All clear. It’s taken a couple of weeks but the surgery stuff is now all in place and very welcome it is too.

Enjoy a very special day whitewave and all celebrating. A hug for those finding the days difficult.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 16° and stormy. Lots of wind and rain in the night and it's still quite windy. Ash I love the photos and the coasters. I think you are very thoughtful. GrandMattie I'm sorry that you felt so bad yesterday. It's not surprising really. I, too, have made those peanut butter biscuits.
Yesterday I had dgs2 for a few hours. He started off having the most impressive tantrum, lying on the floor, drumming his heels etc. Dgs1 never really had big tantrums so it came as a surprise. We distracted him and he became his usual sunny self by the time his mum left. A morning in the garden, walking to the swings, blethering to neighbours kept him busy. I do think he's probably coming down with something. I finally managed to track down someone to come and quote for the hedges. He's supposed to be here this morning at nine so cross fingers.
Today, after the chap has been about the hedges 🤞🤞🤞, I'll have to go to Aldi for food. Then I'll do the usual housework and washing. Later I'll visit mum. I fancy gammon for dinner. Have a good day all

ginny Sat 19-Aug-23 07:23:16

Good morning all.
Yesterday DH finished the new bathroom floor Andre hung the door. It looks so much better.
Today we have a weekly local food shop to do. This afternoon DH is going to Bletchley Park with DDs 1 & 2.
I intend to do some crafting.
I’m having a lot of pain with my hip and will be glad to see the surgeon in a few weeks time and hopefully set a date for the ‘op.
Hope all the meet ups and celebrations go well.
Good wishes for anyone struggling in any way .

Good morning from a sunny Essex coast after lots of wind and rain last night.
We are going away on the boat for a few days, I am a little apprehensive.
DH's forehead is not healing too well and he is now on antibiotics. His doctor has told him it could take weeks.
Sorry to hear that you had a down day GM, I hope today is brighter for you.
Have a peaceful Saturday everyone xx

monk08 Sat 19-Aug-23 07:31:55

Good morning all from a sunny but windy Black country after rain all day yesterday I don't mind a bit of wind.
Nice photos on here again.
grandMattie hope you have a better day today I'm sure biscuits and tray bake will go down a treat the peanut biscuits for me please.
Those with parties and get togethers enjoy will come back later as it's Saturday and the full English is calling.
Have a good day everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

Morning everyone from north Kent. Not sure what the weather is doing as I am still in bed. Thunderstorms last night kept us all awake with a tremendous flash of lightening and enormous crack of thunder right overhead.

Didn’t feel particularly well yesterday and didn’t get much sleep. A test this morning confirmed I have covid. Goodness knows where I caught it. It’s the second time I have had it the last one being last summer. Feel a bit rough this morning so will stay in bed out of the way of DH; hopefully he will avoid it.

So… from my sick bed 😔 I wish you all a good day.

Pittcity Sat 19-Aug-23 07:38:52

Good morning from sunny Colchester. We had overnight rain but a hot, dry day is forecast.
This weekend there is a "Siege of Colchester" Civil War event all over the City centre and DH is keen to attend.
I'll fit in laundry and shopping around this as we live right in the centre so no travelling involved.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a damp but brightening Cornwall. Torrential rain yesterday halted plans for the tall ships parade of sail so they quietly slipped away on the next leg one by one.

Very loud drilling downstairs from the shop renovation at 6.30am yesterday, and I returned from my misty dawn sojourn to find my neighbour in her pyjamas having a right old four-letter-word slanging match with the driller. He slanged back, equally colourfully! Life is never ever dull here.

Meanwhile my granddaughter and I have decided we want to be creative with Lego, but I have none, so I'm collecting a 500-piece set from Argos today.

gM you've had such a lot to contend with. Sending virtual flowers and a hug. Ash, amazing costumes!

Blossoming Sat 19-Aug-23 07:48:22

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire. Good to see you’re getting back to normal *Mick

Yesterday MrB and I cleared quite a bit of garden waste and took it all to the recycling centre. A walk along the riverbank brought colour to the cheeks, the fresh air was welcome. It was just starting to rain when we got home. Today’s plan is a visit to Lytham, there is a festival but the weather doesn’t look promising so some things may be cancelled.

As always thinking of Baggs, Kalu and Urms and all dealing with troubles.

Have a good day all whatever you’re doihg🌻🌻🌻

Nannagarra Sat 19-Aug-23 07:48:46

Good morning from autumnal Sefton. This doesn’t seem like August, however the rain should activate the grass seed we’ve had to use as one lawn in particular wasn’t going to revive. Every cloud…
We’ve had a comparatively quiet week without DGC and DGdogs. Yesterday we went out for lunch; today we’re going to a small market town in the ‘salad bowl’ of England: no doubt some super fresh local fruit and veg will be bought.
Did you use the BBC recipe GM? I’m sure your bakes will be well received and hope you have a better day today.
Have the best Saturday possible everyone.

Good morning everyone, we’re in the Isle of Lewis and we’ve light grey cloud and it’s windy
Sorry to hear you had a miserable day yesterday gMattie, hope today is better 💕
Great photos Ash!
We arrived safely yesterday afternoon, the ferry crossing was good and we had lovely sunshine. Today we’re off out exploring somewhere new, walking boots at the ready. It’ll be good to see how DH gets on with his new knee as previously it was always painful after a longish walk
Have a lovely party WWM and a very Happy 50th to your DS
Hope you get your hip sorted soon ginny and softy to hear you’re in such a lot of pain
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Greyduster Sat 19-Aug-23 07:53:45

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it promises to be a dry bright day. Yesterday’s rain was welcome though. The garden is calling today and I will trim my little box hedge. Garage is all but cleared now, but it’s surprising the things you can’t bear to throw away. A set of new, boxed, unused spanner’s, which I know I will never need (can’t think why on earth DH bought them!) has gone back into a drawer to remain boxed and unused, along with an electric saw. I also have a huge box of fly tying equipment that I need to find a home for as my fingers don’t work well enough for tying now, and I have more flies than I will ever need for the fishing I do.
Have the best day you can, folks.

kittylester Sat 19-Aug-23 07:54:26

Good morning all from a dreary looking North Leicestershire.

I took the girls to Northampton services yesterday and handed them back to their mother. We have a very quiet house now. But they left us a reminder - as the photo shows. This is Prince, the huge penguin. He was won at our local street fair, lives here but is hidden in various places to make us 'jump'. This is the shower room and he is angled to watch people on the loo. grin

More kitchen clearing today and then my Sing it Happy choir is going to be performing at a fundraising event for our local hospice.

Have the best day possible everyone.
