Good Morning Everyone,
Its just starting to become twilight but its dry as well this morning in brackley .
Today , my usual bus journey to Bicester , I used to like it when you had a half hourly service from Buckingham to Bicester as well .
Yesterday , posted on Facebook was an announcement of the death of a local Rock legend Bernie Marsden of Whitesnake fame, a guitarist who started in local bands in the 60`s.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all from a wet West Oxfordshire. I have been awake since 4 am. A nuisance. OH is off to see his bees this morning. Apparently they don’t like rain. I am meeting some friends for pudding and coffee at lunchtime. One of our group will be missing. She is undergoing chemotherapy and having a dreadful time. She was hospitalised at one point as her immune system was badly affected. She is now home, on morphine and keeping isolated. Have a good day everyone. Thinking of those experiencing difficulties, especially Urms.

Good morning from a damp Bristol. Apparently, the maximum today will be16C!
DD and Iris came to lunch after they had been to the cinema to see”The Elements”, (being earth, water, fire and air). We shifted furniture in preparation for the hospice to collect the remaining Phase 2 of furniture change.
My sewing machine and pc/desk are now in my living room. Looks odd but better.
Today, church coffee and probably some 🧵 sewing.
I hope all the sad, unhappy and poorly have a reasonable day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Michael and all GNs. It is set to be a dreary wet day in South Yorkshire. I will do an early food shop and then do some baking this afternoon. I never seem to have any cake these days, though goodness knows it’s the last thing I need! Son in law came yesterday to skip some more stuff out of my garage. We’re getting there!
Have the best day you can, folks.

RosesandLilac Sat 26-Aug-23 06:19:14

Good morning, it’s a damp start here on the edge of a hill in south Gloucestershire, the rain is very welcome as the garden definitely needs it. My soil is very stoney and sandy despite loads of homemade compost dug in over the last 25 years 🙄
Yesterday we went into town for a few bits, then I faffed around for the rest of the day, achieved little!
Today I am going to go to a friend’s farm to take some photos of their farm and barn in the hope it will inspire me to do some painting. I have a new camera that is still in its box 😵‍💫, bought it ages ago. I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t tried it yet, no excuses just apathy.
I hope you all have a good weekend 🌹

Good morning Mick from a 5degree, damp after overnight rain, Oxfordshire. The sky is clearing though, so maybe a garden table at a local pub for lunch isn’t out of the question, chilly though.
I have some more books to drop off at the Charity shop, if it stays dry there is some weeding to be done, I can’t do much more until our garden bins are emptied on Wednesday as they are rammed full. Apart from that an easy day.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can.

Good morning from a fine but cooler Torbay (13 deg)

Yesterday, I shopped for items for France: essentials for DH like Heinz beans and marmalade, amongst other things! I also had the nitrogen in my tyres checked ready for the long drive. ATS provide this service which I greatly appreciate.

Today I’m meeting one of the Dad’s Army cast for coffee then a few of us from the cast are forming a quiz team to support a local fledgling panto group which is raising funds.

Enjoy whatever the day brings! Thinking of absent friends. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning all, it’s dry for the moment here in South Lanarkshire.

I’m keeping watch for hot air balloons which should be flying soon. Our town holds the only balloon festival in Scotland but due to the thunderstorms yesterday evening the flights were cancelled.

We’ll be off to the airport mid morning for our flight to Mallorca where rain is also forecast. confused

Have the best day possible everyone.

Ashcombe Sat 26-Aug-23 06:52:12

Safe travels, baubles and I expect the rain will be warmer in Mallorca!

Beechnut Sat 26-Aug-23 07:02:43

Aww thank you Urms. Lovely to see you x
Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dry here at the moment with a mix of blue sky and cloud.

I shall spend my birthday on an unknown plan at the moment with Beechnutella who has told me to bring my stick and comfy walking shoes.

Have a good day all 🌷🎉

Ashcombe Sat 26-Aug-23 07:02:48

Good morning all it’s to be cool and wet today in fact there’s a weather warning here on the east coast of Fife but not to worry I’m staying at home having a lovely visit from my daughter and youngest grandson
We’re going to make raspberry jam I got the raspberries a couple of days ago.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and dry. Cloudy though. Beechnut happy birthday to you. I hope you enjoy your surprise day. Urms nice to see you posting. Ash do you travel soon? Baubles have a lovely holiday.
Yesterday was busy. I was at the chiropodist when DD messaged to say she was coming for a visit with dgs2. She stayed for an hour or so, just enough time for dgs2 to create havoc, the left. I then had a lovely catch up with friends. Later on, I planned to visit mum, when there was a very intense thunder storm. The thunder was extremely loud and there was substantial flooding locally, so I put off my visit til tonight.
Today is a quieter day of housework and washing then reading. I'm happy with that. I'm not sure yet what I'll have for dinner. Have a good day all

Good morning from a dry, sunny but cooler -11c - New Forest. Forecast drizzle for a couple of hours today.

Will go out with the dog for our usual morning walk soon, and later today I think the plan is lunch in Fordingbridge after a look around, then a further walk near Frogham.

Our accommodation is excellent. It was built last year and along the style of a converted barn - but isn’t🙂. Isolated and very quiet, so just right for a week of relaxation, with walks into the forest from the door.

Peace and harmony to all.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 26-Aug-23 07:13:38

Morning ug 🙂

Morning Mick, morning All from a cool, cloudy corner of Somerset.

Ironing to do and beds to change today. We’re forecast a storm later so maybe won’t venture out.

A very happy birthday beechnut. Good to see you urms.

Good wishes to all.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Temps could rise to 19°c today forecast but damp and cold so far.

The usual Saturday café this morning and Gaelic café this afternoon.

Happy birthday Beechnut .
Have a lovely holiday Baubles

Good morning everyone .
Happy Birthday Beechnut.
Our holiday cottage is lovely. The owners who live next door are very welcoming . They had left us, milk, tea, fresh eggs , homemade marmalade and cake. They also bought over a selection of home grown vegetables.
I think we will stay around Ross and Symonds Yat today unless the weather directs otherwise.
Wishing all the best day possible .

Sago Sat 26-Aug-23 07:25:08

Good Morning all.
Another hot day in Spain forecast.
Today we are in Alcazar de San Juan, famous for wine, windmills and Don Quixote.
Our drive from Avila was beautiful, through mountains we climbed to 3800 feet then onto the central plain.
We had our best meal yet at a local restaurant last night, it’s no 1 on trip advisor and was outstanding.
3 courses for my husband, 2 for me wine, and a coffee was 43 euro!
It’s so reasonable here to eat out, we loved seeing so many families in the restaurant.
Today we are wine tasting and windmill visiting.
Here’s a picture from yesterday.
