Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Our daughter is still here and returns to London this afternoon. I will make a spag Bol for lunch and for pudding I have defrosted a white chocolate and raspberry cake. I will fill it with seedless raspberry jam, more raspberries and whipped cream. While OH is driving daughter to the station I will do the weekly shop. OH didn’t really keep up to speed with provisions while I was in Australia! My sleeping pattern is still all over the place which is why I’m awake at this ungodly hour
I’m not getting up till 8 am. I hope Urms is feeling better today and enjoyed her birthday a little yesterday. Have a good day.
Good morning from a day that is forecast to be sunny here in Torbay. I hope so for the tourists who are here but also for our church holding a Fayre on the green opposite.
Belated birthday greetings to Urmstongran. Wishing everyone a reason to smile today. 🦩🥰😎💐🦩
Good morning from a grey Bristol. Not a good start for those going out on the bank holiday. Early mornings are chilly for this time of year.
Yesterday, did little apart from go to church. This church uses more modern hymns than I’m used to and I only knew one of four.
Supermarket with my upstairs neighbour this morning and nothing else today.
Thank to someone on GN, I’ve discovered “Fisk” on Netflix. I’m enjoying the Aussie mick taking of themselves.
I hope Urms had some pleasure out of her birthday, yesterday. Enjoy your bank holiday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from Fylde.
Although I'm retired, a Bank Holiday still feels different, a day that is mine, all mine! So I love being up early.
Will be working on my crocheted stole as soon as I've showered - does anyone know Pollevie's amazing, folk-artish work? - then driving off to friends, who've invited me for bacon butties.
Good Morning from Ronda.
I hope the sun shines for you all on this bank holiday.
We drove yesterday for over 200 miles through plains then mountains full of olive groves and vineyards to our new home a Cortija 12k from Ronda.
The hotel has just 10 rooms and is simple but beautiful, it feels like coming home.
Yesterday we lay by the pool and watched golden eagles soaring in the sky above us.
Today we are hiking at a nearby lake and gorge after breakfast then pool time and around 5 we are going to Ronda to explore and have dinner.
I have added a link to the hotel as it’s so special, not fancy or plush just a perfect haven run by a family with a lot of love.
The photograph is taken from my bed, unfortunately it doesn’t show up very well but the “morning star” which I think is Venus is shining so brightly!
Have a happy Bank Holiday everyone.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C.
There was definitely a nip in the air yesterday morning.
DH is golfing, hence the ungodly hour.
Sago, I have holiday envy. Your trip seems wonderful. I have never visited my friend in Spain, but her bodega is fifty five minutes from Ronda. Bodegas Rivero
Today will be another day of doing little, as yesterday was, in the hope I will feel a bit better . I'm becoming very frustrated by the fact that I have little control over my health! 😡
We have plans for tomorrow and I don't want to spoil them, DH is so looking forward to meeting a very old friend.
Baubles, I hope your vertigo has settled and you are enjoying your holiday.
Wishing Urms a better day.
Have a good day folks, whatever your plans..
Good morning!
That does look like a wonderful haven of peace Sago, I wish I was there!
It’s a cool, dry start here in south Gloucestershire, autumn’s definitely arrived. We had a lovely wander around the fields yesterday, the leaves are beginning to turn, plenty of blackberries, hawthorn berries and hips - isn’t that supposed to foretell a hard winter? I hope not!
Today more of the same I think, I love the views from one particular field, we could see at least 20 miles yesterday across to a monument we know well.
Nothing in particular planned otherwise, suits me fine!
Have a lovely day too 🌹
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from what promise to be a bright South Yorkshire BH Monday. Had a lovely roast dinner with DD and the menfolk yesterday. DS didn’t come down for the football afterwards as he and the household seem to have come down with cold symptoms. He sounded very bunged up. I have no particularly plans for today except to prepare for going away on Wednesday for a few day so laundry, packing and a general garden tidy.
Great photo, Sago, and the hotel looks lovely.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning all and yes Marydoll the weather’s certainly changing even here on the east coast of Fife.I hear the seagulls this morning. It’s really a lovely sound. No chance of nosediving me I’m still lying in my cosy cosy pit.
Today I’m going to sainsburys, then getting a cheeky wee McDonald’s for lunch and of course a maltesers mcflurrie I’ll even treat my sister and my lovely carer to one too. I’ll pop into the credit union bank to get my book made up seeing as how I’m saving on line.
I’ve a gardener going to phone me today I’m having my garden tidied up, it’s all in a bit of a mess.
Enjoy your day all you lovely gnetters I hope to see some of you soon.
Good morning , it’s only 5 degrees but sunny here at the moment the heating is on though.
Not much happening here today, I’ll do some more baking this afternoon and send it back with MissOops when she comes to collect the dog, that way I’ll enjoy the baking but won’t put on any weight.
I must dig over the vegetable plot if it stays dry, the Marjoram totally took over part of the raised bed, but as the honey bees were all over it I left it, now it has gone over it can be dug up, heaven knows where it all came from.
Hope you had a good day yesterday Urms
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from a dry, cool Cornwall with some sun promised later. Family drama yesterday. Early morning... my grandson's cat charged in through their catflap, flew upstairs and flung himself through a closed window, tumbling in a shower of glass onto the road below. 17 hours of searching later he was found under a car, unscathed except for the loss of a cat-life or two. Apparently he's now grounded for several days. Much less of a dramatic day at my place where I managed to mend my sewing machine and started making rag dolls.
Sorry your birthday was sad and lacklustre Urms. Another amazing photo Sago.
Good morning, s somerset is bright and a tad cooler.
Heavy wash will be on the line by eight and I will be out on my bike half an hour later, with a clip-on nose cover on my sunglasses. A temporary solution to protect my nose
Sewing again later, a very challenging item with difficult fabric. Slow and steady for that, it occupies my brain fully a couple of hours just prior to bed, then I sleep all night
Have a good day and happy birthday for yesterday urms, hope you are feeling better
Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast. I’m off on a coach day trip today to Rode Hall and Trentham Gardens so hope the bank holiday traffic isn’t too bad. Sarnies and flask of coffee made up plus book etc.
Hope Urms is feeling better and thoughts to all with worries 🌹
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and sunny. Oopsadaisy 5° is positively Baltic! Sago your photos give me Spain envy. It sounds like you are having a wonderful time.
Yesterday was a relatively quiet day for me. A bit of tidying up and the pottering.
Today I don't have childcare as dd has the bank holiday so I'm making the most of doing little. I have someone coming to give me a quote for a new front door either today or tomorrow so I won't be far. Roast chicken for dinner. Have a good day all
Good morning all from another overcast day in the Black country.
Sago your hotel looks lovely as you say a real haven.
Spoke to my youngest brother yesterday have arranged to visit in October it will be great to catch up haven't seen each other since before lockdown.
Perhaps a visit to garden centre today I need some things from their deli, or though later in the week may be better with it being bank holiday.
I hope both Urms and Marydoll are feeling a little brighter today.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from Shropshire.
A relaxing day yesterday.DH got lots of gardening done.I got lots of reading done.
Today we are going to Cheshire to visit mum.DD and DGS1 will meet us there.Pub lunch then after we have taken mum home we will take B to the ice cream farm.
The hotel looks lovely Sago.We love Ronda. What a lovely holiday you are having.
Enjoy your trip holly.DD’s three graduations were at Trentham gardens and it’s not too far from where DD2 lives so we have spent many happy hours there.
I hope Urms is feeling better today and Mary I hope a restful day sees you feeling better so you can enjoy your day out tomorrow.
Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩
Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is fairly sunny.
Today we have to prepare the empty kitchen for the floorers who are coming tomorrow to lay a waterproof membrane. The next day, they will screed - or possibly the other way round.
Hoping everyone has the best day possible.
Good morning all and it’s a beautiful start to the day here in Essex.
We potted up chrysanthemums and alliums with little cyclamen for autumn colour in our tubs . Dh is trying to repair a fence and the side of the shed where foxes are making their home, and damaging all in their wake. Little pooch goes mad every evening racing into the garden to scare them off. 🦊.
We had a nice couple of hours with ds1 and DIL over a coffee and brownies they brought with them. Caught up with all their news . We heard all about the dgd’s doings, problems and achievements, which we can’t talk about when they’re there.
Today I’ll go shopping and then make soup from yesterdays left over chicken casserole. Dh isn’t keen but he’ll eat it anyway. I’ll get a nice baguette to go with it.
Sago your holiday sounds idyllic . Great pics and what a super hotel.! 😉.
Urms hope you’re feeling a little brighter today. Try to find something to make you smile. 😊. 🫂.
Marydoll rest up today and look forward to tomorrows outing. 😌.
Have a lovely day 🌻
Good morning from Colchester where it's cool with high cloud. 21° and dry is the forecast.
Usual Monday here despite the Bank Holiday.
We were treated to an Olly Murs concert last night .....at least we could hear it from the comfort of our sofa as he performed in the neighbouring park. We were watching the athletics on TV at the same time.
Love to all 🦩 x
Morning from S Hants, high cloud and 12. Your photo looks almost biblical Sago.
A quiet day yesterday after the grandchildren went home, by the time they’d surfaced and had breakfast my daughter was here to collect them.
Only plan today is to visit an art studio as part of the the Hampshire Open Studios week, I’m after a ‘piece’, not sure what yet. That’s after the washing is done and out.
Enjoy your trips today and family visits.
🦩🦩
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and cool, hopefully it’ll warm up a bit later
Yesterday I was unexpectedly invited round to DD2s, I really enjoyed seeing the DGC and catching up on all their news. Today it’s back to my usual routine with a couple of classes at the gym and then a trip to Tesco.
Your hotel looks so idyllic Sago, enjoy your time there
Enjoy your day out holly and everyone else out and about today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a sunny but chilly feeling Suffolk. DS and family not visiting today because little dog still feeling sorry for herself with collar on and eye infection still there. We don’t want their puppy to get it. Also DH returned from our cruise with a bad cold which he doesn’t want to share around. Luckily I’ve escaped it so far.
Planning on a bit more tidying up in the garden and ordering bulbs for a few of the large pots which, for some reason, never got filled last autumn. Otherwise a lazy day with time spent ready in the summerhouse.
Hope today is an easy one for all.
Good morning Mick and all. Lots of blue sky, lots of cloud and only 10° on the Angus coast - and the winter dressing gown is on.
Sago your hotel looks idyllic - you'll be sorry to move on.
I hope the storm in Mallorca didn't affect baubles too badly - just read about the cruise ship breaking loose from its moorings.
That's what the Old Wives' Tale says, RoseandLilac, but I wonder whether climate change will put paid to that? 🤞
What on earth was your dgs's cat thinking Mizuna! Sounds like a cat in terror, poor thing, with at least the whole local Cat Mafia after it.
Sorry you had a dismal birthday Urms - lots of love and healing thoughts.
You too Marydoll - a quiet day today so that you can enjoy your outing tomorrow.
Today Dancing GD is back to College for the start of her degree year after dancing her heart out all summer. She's really looking forward to it and I'm so wishing her every success.
I am meeting up with DD and NewMan in Perth for a quick lunch before they head off south again. DD will be back up again in a fortnight to see DGD3 off on her first day at uni. It's all happening ......
Nothing else from me - luckily I enjoy a quiet life. Enjoy this day everyone, and may worries and sickness resolve themselves x
Good morning from Durham, where it’s bright and still. It rained heavily more on than off yesterday, so hoping today is dry.
It’s DD2’s birthday today. I’m astounded where 40 years have gone. She’s had a birthday weekend, so not sure what’s on the cards today. Following a meal out with both DD’s on Saturday night, I slept over at
DD1s, and had a busy Sunday morning with both girls and DGSs, but the weather put paid to the rest of the day. At home later, I had hoped to tidy up the garden, now the leaves are falling (not my tree!) so that’s my task for today. Maybe catch up with a friend later. A belated birthday wish for Urms - I hope feeling a little better.
Best wishes to all. X
