Good morning from a warm corner of La Sarthe where the temperature hasn’t dropped below 18 overnight. Yesterday, it reached 32 in the afternoon which doesn’t suit me so I stay indoors.

DH came round from the anaesthetic eventually and is drinking and eating soft foods. No information yet on what was found or when he might come home although it should be today. He’s had little sleep, partly due to the drip which, besides keeping him hydrated, contains paracetamol.

My DD2 has just begun her first term as Headteacher in the school where she has been the Deputy for 15 years. Good luck to those returning to school, college or university this week and to their teachers! 🦩🥰🎓💐🦩

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 05-Sept-23 06:10:30

Good morning, it’s dry and bright and warm already.
Busy day today, housework, change beds, mow lawn as soon as the dew is off the grass and then the hairdresser, let’s hope she turns up this time.
And that’s my day.
Good luck today Mick
Hope Oldudders recovers quickly Ash and is soon at home with you.
Have as good a day as you can everyone and stay in the shade.

grandMattie Tue 05-Sept-23 06:11:04

Good morning from a dawning, dry Bristol. The night has been warm here too.
Yesterday was quite hot, around 28C , but I managed to keep cool in the usual ways; closing windows and curtains/blinds, etc.
Congratulations to your DD, Ash. I hope she doesn’t have that RAAC at her school! What a big problem.
I’m writing to my solicitor regarding the non-disclosure of asbestos. I don’t want compensation, the management is doing the necessary work at their expense, but surely the leaseholders should have been told about this problem.
Tai chi today. Unfortunately, the long walk there and back will make me very 🥵!
I’ll probably make some biscuits for a coffee morning tomorrow/Saturday.

Sorry, Ash, forgot to thank you for news of oldd. Ihope he manages more sleep and whatever was done does th3 trick! X

Susan56 Tue 05-Sept-23 06:17:46

Good morning from Shropshire where another very hot day is forecast🥵

32 would be too much for me too Ash.It was 27 here and 26 due today so I will be inside apart from hanging the laundry out.

Today all three grandchildren start back at school and DD2 starts her new teaching job.She was in yesterday for a PD day and had a good day.Congratulations to your DD Ash.

It is H’s first day in uniform in the nursery class at school. When he was a baby and so unwell with severe allergies we dreaded this day as it was hard to imagine how he would cope but now it is here he deals with it all so well💪🏼

Hoping olddudders is home with you later Ash and that results are good🙏🏻

Hope the results of your glaucoma test are good as well Mick🙏🏻

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10°. It looks like it's going to be a fine day. Scotland was warm yesterday but nothing like the temperatures in France Ash or Bristol Grandmattie. It's always a worry waiting for results Ash. My best wishes to your dh.
Yesterday was busy with dgs2. Lots of garden play and generally a busy wee boy. His mouth is very sore because he has four teeth coming through at once, so sometimes he was grumpy. Later I visited mum who is much the same.
Today will be much like yesterday. I might take him to the park to feed the ducks. I'm tired this morning so I'll have to find motivation somewhere. Have a good day all.

Mizuna Tue 05-Sept-23 06:27:11

Good morning from an airless Cornwall after a sweltering night. Oof.

This morning I'm with a prayer friend for some quiet time. After that I'll seek somewhere cool. Am so glad I bought a neck fan!

kittylester Tue 05-Sept-23 06:39:38

Good morning all from a warm but misty North Leicestershire.

I am off to a Memory Cafe today and then we will have a barbecue this evening.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Allsorts Tue 05-Sept-23 06:42:47

Good morning everyone. I hope your test goes well Mick. Hope your husband is loads better today Ash.
It was sweltering hot last night wasn’t it, there didn’t seem to be any air. So glad I don’t live in these temperatures all the time. I have always loved the seasons although they are a bit over the place now.

RosesandLilac Tue 05-Sept-23 06:48:32

Good morning from a hillside in the Cotswolds, a warm night here too.
Yesterday the dog and I enjoyed our really morning walk as the sun arose, very peaceful.
I spent all day indoors happily getting on with my crocheting, very lazy me 😊
Today another early dog walk then I want to empty a kitchen cupboard and sort out loads of jars and bottles, I suspect many are out of date 🙄
I have booked a fortnight by the sea in my favourite place in Wales for mid October, I so love it there. This will be our 4th stay in the same place. I don’t care what the weather is like, we just take the right clothes and wet weather gear!

Good morning, hot, too hot

GM have you seen my late posts yesterday. Something to ask your solicitor, she may not have asked for sight of the risk assessments for fire safety and asbestos, this is something she should have seen, if doing her job properly

Not much doing today, slothful stuff

Have a good day

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 05-Sept-23 07:03:07

Morning all from a warm West Oxfordshire. I did very little yesterday apart from lie on the sofa watching old Midsomer Murders! OH played croquet and enjoyed himself. I feel a bit better this morning. Hopefully I can do a Waitrose shop. OH is seeing an optician. He is worried about his eyesight. I suggested it might just be old age! I am afraid he is one of those people who automatically thinks the worse. I try to be sympathetic but it it is difficult sometimes. Ho hum. Have a good day all of you especially those of you with worries. I’ve just had an email to say I’ve won on the Premium Bonds but haven’t checked the amount yet.

Grammaretto Tue 05-Sept-23 07:08:13

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Another warm day forecast. I'm going to visit an open garden with a df who will drive my car.

Yesterday was a great drying day so all the beds were changed ready for my next visitors.

I hope your DH makes a good recovery Ash and that your appointment goes well Mick
Have a good day everyone. Keep cool!

NannyJan53 Tue 05-Sept-23 07:12:03

Good morning from a Black Country with a bright and cloudless sky. Another hot one it seems

Lovely walk yesterday along the canal at Kinver, luckily quite a lot of it was in shade as it was so warm. Cafe stop at the end.

Over to Mums, where I am taking a Spag Bol for lunch for us, then hopefully a little walk. Then over to DD's village where I have to accompany DGD for a haircut. Even though she is 15 and taller than me, it is classed as a child and has to have an adult with her. She goes back to school tomorrow.

Congratulations to your DD Ashcombe my DD started her job as Head in March last year after 15 years of being the Deputy there. Wish Olddudders well in his recovery.

Wishing you all the best day possible

cornergran Tue 05-Sept-23 07:12:15

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s a beautiful start to the day, still cool and fresh. 28 degrees due here later.

Enjoyed seeing our son yesterday. A couple of worries though, his wife finally has a cardiac surgery date in October, she is expected to be in theatre for a day and to have two weeks in hospital. It has to be done, we all knew about it, so real now though. Later came a message from our teenage granddaughter to say she is very poorly with covid. We’re concerned for her and also her dad who spent the weekend with her and is currently in Lithuania for work purposes. Enough now!

No dramas here anyway which is a major positive. Todays challenge is to speak to a doctor and relay Mr C’s latest BP and heart rate monitoring. Seems better to me.

Hope your husband will be home today ash with good news. A letter to your solicitor sounds sensible grandmattie. There will be some clarity at least.

Best get on. Grocery delivery and a hair cut for me, both unreasonably early and booked in a fit of optimism. I’m not a morning person for sure.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

Pittcity Tue 05-Sept-23 07:13:53

Good morning from sunny Colchester. 26° is today's forecast.
I'm off to stand under the air con in the charity shop for the day.
Love to all 🦩 x

Whitewavemark2 Tue 05-Sept-23 07:16:25

Good morning from a glorious fresh sunny morning. Temperature is currently 18c which is more or less what it was all night, but all windows in house were open and there is a fresh breeze so we all slept like tops.

Just back from an hours walk with the dog before it gets too hot for him. I should really be cutting back for the autumn, but there is so much flower still in the garden and it is so summery I will leave it perhaps until next week I think before I begin.

Aubergine and red pepper parmigiana for later as veg day today.

Peace and harmony everyone.

monk08 Tue 05-Sept-23 07:20:37

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Yesterday I spent some time tidying in the garden and have put my back out hopefully the heat pads will do their magic.
Today we have a pre birthday meal booked for just the 2 of us, will be out with family on the day.
Ash thanks for the update on Olddudders hope he is home with you soon.
Congratulations on the daughters starting their new jobs.
Lllf glad your feeling a bit better and well done on your bond win, it's been years since any came my way.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Tuesday everyone and whatever your plans may you all find some ☀️.

Beechnut Tue 05-Sept-23 07:24:50

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.
I’m up earlier than usual as I want to cut the ripened tomatoes in the greenhouse before it gets too hot.
I’ll go swimming after and then I don’t know what I’ll do, depends on how comfortable I feel with the heat. I wouldn’t mind joining you Pittcity if Colchester wasn’t so far away 🤣

Have a good day and good luck to all 🌞

Urmstongran Tue 05-Sept-23 07:27:38

Good morning everyone from sunny south Manchester. x
Here’s Matt.

Jaxjacky Tue 05-Sept-23 07:28:55

Morning from sunny S Hants. Hoping oldd will be home soon Ash with a clean bill of health.
Better news of mrcorner but worries ahead cornergran.
It was short sleeves at 10 last night after quiz, shame it’s dark so early as any light attracts the moths, not my favourite!
An early walk today with a friend calling later for coffee, I’m taking her through using the NHS app.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Last minute prep for recital tomorrow, intros, music in order, but generally take it easy after practising a lot.

DS said he will ‘swing by’ (his words) and pick up some parcels. I have a handy open porch for deliveries. I put him off coming for a meal and staying over as I need to concentrate on this concert.
All the best to Olddudders Ash and thoughts as always to those with worries 🌹

Kalu Tue 05-Sept-23 07:34:50

Good morning all, sunny again in Glasgow.

Enjoying my morning kick start espresso in the garden, something I haven’t done much of this summer as sunny mornings were in short supply this year.

My car is booked in first thing for a check up this morning. DD1 had arranged to pick me up after drop off and take me back hopefully later today to collect my car, unfortunately she has covid, as did GD1 who is now showing negative. Taxis it will have to be.

Have a pleasant day all and kind thoughts to those in troubled times.

Sar53 Tue 05-Sept-23 07:35:06

Good morning from a sunny Essex coast.
DH had his ultrasound on his joints yesterday, hopefully not too long to wait for the results.
DD1 rang early evening to say her MIL passed away without regaining consciousness. A very sad day for her husband's family.
Thinking of everyone with sadness today xx
