Think the schools unsafe is how they were put together in the first place. Wonder when they were built, at a guess in the 60s and 70s when that awful substance, concrete, was king. You can't see inside a wall, and didn't Blair chuck them up like confetti. Although by then concrete wasn't so much King. Blame all Gov over the last thirty odd years for putting our kids at risk. For allowing this stuff to be used. Then again I believe it is only certain parts of schools, not the whole building. Bad enough. Our Tory run council still in budget.

The discharge team from the local hospital keep ringing me to put my Mum in any home even if it needs improvement according to the CQC. They know there is no availability at the moment in the local care homes so now they are trying to get me to get her into a failing home for temporary care even though they know she has dementia and each move discombobulates her. She is on the waiting list for the best home for her needs and they say it won't be long before a bed comes up. Even the contracted company who deal with discharge homes can't find one so why does the Discharge Co-ordinator think ringing me to up to order me to keep looking for a home is going to make a difference? Bullying me will not result in a non-existent space to become available.

I'm peed off just about everything at the moment and blow up at poor DH. I've been on a very short fuse the last 2 or 3 weeks. It could be hormonal. Even the cat seems to be temperamental too!

Food waste, global warming, inequality, The NHS, the misuses of resources and services, the lack of kindness, the selfishness, the thoughtlessness , the sense of entitlement, Racc in public buildings, the apathy of the government, the wasting of public money, lack of ownership ( no one is taking responsibility ) . And so, on and I would say it is concern, anxiety and despair rather than annoyed

The casual attitude some folk have now towards covid. I have been ill for a week. My poor dog had no exercise for the first four days as I was too weak to walk even round the block.

When I set off on the fifth day I felt really guilty to be going out at all, so kept a wary eye open for other humans. If people tried to talk to me I explained I couldn't come close as I had covid. Several said that it didn't bother them ! Really ? I have felt really unwell all week with all the recognised symptoms and a few of my own. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, especially someone over 70 like me.

We spent 12years turning our large garden into a wildlife area.
New neighbours with five cats moved in. All I found was chewed slow worms , baby rabbits, and many birds. The field mice and voles have vanished. The deep beds have been used as the cats lavatory.
My dog will chase them out,but they mostly come at night. ( shown on my wildlife camera.
The new neighbours just say ‘ it’s natural’, and are not even prepared to keep them in at night during the breeding season.

I'm annoyed at the mismanagement of school (and hospital) maintenance that has resulted in a chaotic and dangerous situation. Actually "annoyed" is far too mild a word to describe how I feel about this. I'm annoyed that I can't find my sun hat.

The ice cream van that plays, ‘Just One Cornetto’ over and over again all afternoon. I like to listen to Classic FM when I’m gardening or settle down on a sun lounger with a good book. It drives me mad and just when I think he’s gone, there it is again.

Yes indeed, and they are often the ones who support the cut in the Aid budget (cue, no doubt, for someone to rant about aid to India when they have a space programme). If the countries these poor people live in are unbearable, perhaps we should do something about it there, rather than wait to treat them so badly when they come here.

The news! It’s all doom and gloom at the moment. All seems to be unravelling at speed. So much failure of successive governments (and NOT just Conservative ones!) being simply unable to run the country fairly and effectively for ALL of its people and not just the lucky and complacent few. I don’t know how it will end but sometimes I am filled with fear for my children’s and grandchildren’s futures. As well as anger that all the sacrifices and hard work that previous generations gave to this country have been squandered and that it has come to this!

Road closures are my current gripe. The road into the local town has been closed at least a dozen times in the last couple of months for various roadworks, repairs etc. The signs stating when road is due to be closed are NEVER accurate and the only diversion is through woods on single track roads, not a pleasant drive.

Teachers are now back at schools influencing our children.
Why can’t most teachers look professional. They dilute their status by dressing in casual clothes thereby reducing their presence. Children benefit from observing professionals with positive attitude.
I wish teacher training institutions would emphasise the importance of professional behaviour. I was in a school recently. There were teachers constantly shouting at children to be quiet in class. The many teachers were not coping and must have been stressed. Not good for the pupils or staff.
Let’s return to teachers wearing gowns!!!

I use my bike to go shopping and to visit friends. The town where I live has narrow streets with little traffic.
What annoys me is people walking in the road, stepping off the pavement without looking, standing looking at their phone in the middle of the road or chatting.
I ring my bell and cycle past them rather close, and I sometimes say, "Anything wrong with the pavement?" Rude, I know, but why should I be held up by people who seem to think it's their right to walk in the road?
And another thing, while I'm at it: I live on a narrow lane, a favourite dog-walkers' area. There is a fair amount of traffic, but so many people let their dogs off the lead. Every time I take the car out, I'm held up by dogs. I drive very slowly, otherwise I'd have run over countless dogs.

I can appreciate your dilemma. Landlords just want the money, but no responsibility towards the tenant keeping to their agreements regarding care of said property.

Romola I'm with you on people wandering along in the middle of the road! The quiet road I cycle to town along is wide with a wide path either side, so why do pedestrians and runners insist on taking over the middle of it? I've even come up against mums with small children running in the middle of the road. It's not very busy but there are cars/vans and bikes using it. It's infuriating

My next door neighbours are currently annoying me! I’m sitting in my garden, trying to make the most of the beautiful weather. The people next door (which is a house of multiple occupancy) are making an absolute racket in their garden - shouting to each other, shouting on phones, music on etc! One of them has the most horrendous laugh - sounds like a piercing cackle and makes me jump every time. Why can’t people just keep their voices down!

I can appreciate your dilemma. Landlords just want the money, but no responsibility towards the tenant keeping to their agreements regarding care of said property.

That is such a sweeping statement. Not all landlords are like this. Some of us go the extra mile, keep our rents at LA rates and ensure that our tenants aren't stressed by the recent cost of living charges. There are many of us who are far more likely to get burned by tenants destroying properties, not paying their rents or causing problems to the tenants surrounding them. I have always worked on the premise that if I treat my tenants well they will treat the property and me well but that doesn't always happen. Many of us have never used a Section 21 because it costs money every time a tenant leaves. Please don't tar us all with the same brush because it sets up an us and them situation when it should be a complementary arrangement. I am all for cracking down on bad landlords but don't let's make good landlords suffer.

I think getting about irritates most people . I am usually a pedestrian, and an occasional passenger in Mr D's car or on a bus. As a pedestrian I am sick of drivers not indicating when I try to cross the road, so I don't know whether to risk crossing or wait so long that another car comes. I also get sick of cyclists who also never indicate, and swerve onto pavements when the lights are on red, or the road is busy. some of them always use pavements or footpaths. I also fume at joggers/runners going two or three abreast and expecting people to move out of their way, and dog walkers who do likewise.

As a passenger I find cyclists hogging the lane and holding up a convoy of cars and buses maddening. There are a lot of them in these parts, and also tractors who seem to choose rush hours to move from one field to another.

All of the above is selfish, I know - we all have a right to use the pavements and roads, but Hell, as they say, is other people .

I am so very very annoyed that Austerity was imposed on us (though I've not been that badly affected by it).

It wasn't necessary - it was ideological. The government chooses what it wants to spend money on. It could have been fiscally prudent without pauperising millions of people. And not only people - our public services starved of funding; the police force budget cut... along with all the protections and rights that workers once had in order to create a 'flexible' labour market... one that is so flexible, workers move from job to job in order to find better pay and conditions leaving so many business short-staffed.

Annoying is maybe not the word. Depression and anger. It doesn't have to be this bad. The many really have serviced the few.

Wheniwasyourage you make an excellent point. I have long thought that people moving away from their homeland, however dire, and coming to a tiny island close to the North Pole with an alien climate, language, culture etc. is not the best way to help. We should help them where they are - and yes, there are myriad difficulties with war, totalitarian governments etc. but endless migration to this country is not the answer - where are they going to settle, be employed? Same old questions - perhaps this is what is annoying me severely at the moment! Find an answer ,someone in power, please, and let both parties agree. (I realise that last is probably one of my little fantasies.) Fancythat dead right it seems!
