Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning.
Today < I am hoping to go and see ABBA Voyage at the ABBA arena in Olympic park for an afternoon matinee .
Yesterday , I was troubled with Diarrhea symptoms, making several toilet trips during the day .
I am hoping today I can hopefully have a normal day , I will take tablets prior to waiting for the coach , but if it starts I will return home having first told the driver .
Take Care,
Mick

White rabbits 🐇🐇🐇
Good morning from a dry Bristol. I was privileged to see the last harvest full moon of the year yesterday morning when I went early to get my paper.
I’m sorry about your problems, Mick, hope it settles enough for your outing today.
I made a pretty vegetable display in church , adding the food items donated around it. I shall take back the vegetables and make piccalilli with them, starting this afternoon.
In the afternoon, I removed the labels and washed the jars I have been given - a whole troller load - to use with aforementioned piccalilli and chutneys. Then I made 5 meat loaves and a veggie filo pie for the harvest lunch today.
Early start at church, setting up the tables for 50, before the service. Then serve lunch and tidy up afterwards….
In the afternoon, my upstairs neighbour is coming to help me prepare the vegetables for piccalilli. I shall be cream crackered! Just as well I shall have had lunch, and won’t need to prepare dinner - soup and cheese, methinks.
Prayers for those with mountains to climb, especially Urms and Marydoll. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good Morning from Melton Mowbray...glad to be back here.

Mizuna Sun 01-Oct-23 07:03:33

Good morning from a dark, drizzly Cornwall. I love Sunday mornings because the town is just a bit quieter, but then I enjoy the buzz again on a Monday.

Nearly £500 was raised yesterday for Macmillan at the allotments. On site we have a large community shed with solar panels, complete with a kitchen, all funded by a Lottery grant years ago. (How lovely if you had been several hundred miles nearer Marydoll, and able to come. My granddaughter harvested my patio apples yesterday, by the way, all three of them. No pears.) My allotment costs me £50 a year, including water. The joy it gives me is inestimable. Was given two water irises at the coffee morning by someone sorting their pond. Surrounded by a bevy of like-minded friends and eating home made cake I felt so blessed.

Today I'll hopefully get to church at 4pm and gently nudge the person responsible for collecting the remaining five large Creation paintings still filling my workroom. They seem reluctant to leave!

Morning Mick, morning All. Think it’s dry outside, our corner of Somerset seems very dark this morning

Pretty mundane day yesterday , ironing, sofa cleaning and a fruitless search for curtains. More ironing this morning, glutton for punishment here, then begin emptying wooden units ready for carpet fitting in the morning. It’s so long since we chose the carpet I’m fretting in case it’s not ‘right’.

🤞 today goes well for you mick. Your Church is lucky to have you mattie. Hope today isn’t too exhausting. Hello bertha.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning, it is just getting light and it will be a nice dry day in s somerset

Out on my bike later, that transition from skinny road bike to a tougher hybrid bike. I want to keep the fitness going, it soon disappears

Pottering maybe but definitely sewing too, while the mojo is with me

Have a good day

Morning all from a village near Toulouse where it promises to reach 32 degrees today! Yesterday’s wedding was wonderful. My niece looked beautiful and the groom didn’t look too bad either! The groom’s mum performed the service in the town hall and then we followed the bride and groom on foot back to his parents house for the reception. I thought he had a double barrelled name but it’s triple barrelled! He reckons it’s post-Revolution. This morning there is a recovery brunch at 12 noon.

Good morning from Shropshire.A wet day is forecast with the sun set to make an appearance late afternoon.

We were both so tired after a busy week that we fell asleep after the supermarket shop so today will be a race to get everything sorted for the plumbers who are coming at 8 in the morning.

Hello Bertha, welcome back👋🏻

Hope you manage to go on your trip Mick.

I always worry whether we have made the right choice on big purchases corner especially when there is a wait for it.

Thinking of all with worries, illness and struggles.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning from a bright, sunny and warm South Downs. What a glorious autumn we are having.

Last night I realised that I’m having my gallbladder operation next week😬😬. That has come quickly. I must get some flight socks. I’ve got some hibiscrub to use pre-op shower.

I must get a move on in the garden if I’m going to be out of action for a while.

I’ve sufficient Lamb Navarin left for today which is good.

Peace and harmony all

RosesandLilac Sun 01-Oct-23 07:30:55

Good morning, it’s a dark but dry start to October here on the edge of the Cotswolds.
I have some ironing to do the I will get on with the garden, starting to tidy it for the winter. Many flowers are still in bloom so it will be weeding and thinning out.
No idea what we’re eating today, it will be a case of wait and see!

GrannySomerset Sun 01-Oct-23 07:39:54

Much enjoyed yesterday’s Big Sing, which involved learning five new pieces and finished with a presentation by the various choirs as well as the newly learned songs. Long day - 10-5 - but thoroughly worthwhile, and singing in large group is always exciting. An early night was very necessary.

Church in our own village but nothing else planned apart from the Sunday paper but must make some catch up phone calls to friends. Hope the day is satisfactory for everyone.

Gingster Sun 01-Oct-23 07:43:42

Good morning and we’re back in Essex, but only until Friday when we return to our seaside haunt with our two DS’s. We have a list of jobs for them to help us with . They enjoy these weekends together and we love having them. Carvery is booked at the local pub, for Saturday evening, which is the very best around.

Dh and ds1 went to footie yesterday afternoon and I had a lazy one, watching ‘who killed Jill Dando’. A strange case indeed.
I enjoyed Strictly last evening. Some very talented celebs and NIkita and Layton were outstanding.

GM I saw the Harvest Moon over the sea on Friday night. What a beautiful sight!
You have another busy day , your church won the lottery when you moved there. 🌟.
Mick I do hope you manage your ABBA trip and all goes well for you 🤞.
Llf a lovely pic of the happy couple. ❤️.
Mizuna - £500 - brilliant. Your allotment sounds wonderful.

This afternoon we are off to my db and his wife , for afternoon tea. DS1 and wife are joining us.

Wishing you all a sunny Sunday 🌻

Good morning from an overcast but warm Torbay at 17 degrees!

Yesterday, I went for my flu vaccination which was at a conference centre in Torquay, where all the Covid vaccinations were administered very efficiently with many volunteers to organise the parking and keep people moving. Not for this! As I turned into the road leading to it from an awkward five way junction, I was confronted by a queue of cars blocking the way! That left me stuck in the middle of a busy interchange with traffic passing me on all sides! Eventually, I joined the queue but I was then late for my appointment, as we all were.

A frantic call (hands free!) to olddudders, meant that at least one of us could be at the restaurant to meet the 14 other diners for the lunch I had booked. This was a reunion for some of the cast and crew of Dad's Army and we had a great time with good food and much mirth. Just what I needed as an antidote to the frustrations of the morning!

A brilliant total, Mizuna from your allotment community! I hope you stay well enough for your trip, Mick and I’m sure your church will have one of its best ever Harvest Lunches, grandMattie.

A super photo, Ladyleftfieldlover of a lovely occasion. A whole day of singing must have been marvellous, GrannySomerset!

Every blessing to you all. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Grammaretto Sun 01-Oct-23 07:48:48

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A very busy day ahead for me so I am reluctant to get up and started.

How lovely Mizuna to have your allotment and circle of good friends.

Glad the wedding was so nice LLFL a beautiful bride!

I hope the coach trip goes well Mick

Goodness it's October already.
I feel like the white rabbit.
Have a peaceful day everyone.

Good morning from the East Yorkshire countryside. It is very wet here after overnight rain.
Yesterday we had a run out to Brid and enjoyed lunch at a tapas place I’ve been wanting to try for ages. It didn’t disappoint and will return for sure.
Today we will have a quick whizz round and clean up. The family are coming over later and we are going out for lunch at a restaurant on another park that has views overlooking a lake. I was hoping it would be a better day to show it in its glory as they haven’t been before. There is also an adventure golf and play area so hope it dries up quick.

Enjoy Sunday.

Alygran Sun 01-Oct-23 07:52:24

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dry so far.
I got most of my pots sorted but ran out of compost so a trip to the garden centre is needed. I’ll go after church and brunch. Off to visit my friend later. She is doing really well after her op on Monday.
Mick I hope you are ok on your trip but do speak to your medics. Your problem may be the long term result of your surgery and over the counter meds could be potentially harmful.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Beechnut Sun 01-Oct-23 07:52:43

Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s cloudy at the moment.

All good with the flu jab yesterday. The car park was full of older people getting in and out of their cars. After my jab I went and picked up my prescription and was on my home before my jab appointment time 😃

I’ll try and get out into the garden today for some fresh air and job doing. I might make a start on putting in an edge to a border for some new plants.

I’ve only read Mick so far, I hope your day goes well Mick.

Have the best day you can all and enjoy your roasts 🪷
Pinch punch

brook2704 Sun 01-Oct-23 07:57:43

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and looks like rain
Goodness gMattie you’re so busy and achieve such a lot, well done. I hope the harvest lunch goes well today
What a lovely picture llfl congratulations to the bride and groom! 🥂💐💕
A FaceTime call with DS to look forward to later and then I’m going to the garden centre to look for some autumn colour plants for the tubs at the front door.
The Big Sing sounds good GrannySomerset pleased you enjoyed it
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Pittcity Sun 01-Oct-23 07:59:21

Good morning from a warm Colchester. 24° is today's forecast.
DH will be home from his fishing trip at lunchtime, so I'll have laundry to do. I need to pop out for some bread and we have roast beef later.
Love to all 🦩 x

NannyJan53 Sun 01-Oct-23 08:02:00

Good morning from a damp and cloudy Black Country, where it looks to be brightening slowly.

Started Friday with a cold after my holiday. Thought I had better do a Covid test yesterday before visiting Mum, and it was positive!! Still feel rough today, coughing like mad. Will have to wait 28 days now for my next Covid jab. I had booked Mum a jab for Thursday, but brother and wife say they will take her now.

So no real plans today, same as yesterday, lounge around and read.

Lovely photo of the happy couple LLF

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Gala Sun 01-Oct-23 08:04:25

Good morning from a very wet Sefton.
A quiet day today after a very full on day yesterday. We had a lovely lunch in a seafood restaurant down by the sea - ok, the Mersey - with our DS2 & his little family as a belated - by a couple of weeks - birthday celebration for DH. We should have been joined by DS1 & his family as it was also their wedding anniversary but GD1's invitation to yet another children's party took priority.... 5 year olds' social life is much more exciting than mine! Then a dash back home, through torrential rain, to our neighbour's (also belated - by a couple of years this time😆) 90th birthday party which started late afternoon. A quick change out of wet togs & we managed to arrive on time. Phew!
A visit to the farm shop then a quick supermarket shop will be enough excitement for today.
Hoping for a good day for everyone.

luluaugust Sun 01-Oct-23 08:17:30

Good morning from W Kent. Out today to visit DS, DIL and GD1 for her birthday lunch. All the GC are so grown up now. We have to check up on DDs little cat on the way as she has to go away unexpectedly.
I hope your trip goes well Mick
Best wishes to all

Liberty Sun 01-Oct-23 08:21:05

Good morning from another sunny Suffolk.

DH,little dog and I went to the beach yesterday where Gingster and I met for coffee on Thursday. The carpark was as full as it is in July and August and there were at least a dozen people fishing along the beach. In spite of the busy carpark, the beach there is so long( and pebbly) that you feel as though you have it almost to yourselves.

It is the Harvest Festival service in the church this morning, and the start of one of my two cleaning months there. A gentle day will follow,I think, spent either in the summerhouse or a shady spot in the garden.

Hope it is a gentle day for all, especially those burdened with worries or ill health.

Jaxjacky Sun 01-Oct-23 08:22:23

Morning from an overcast S Hants, flu jab yesterday deep into the muscle to reduce bleeding, ouch, but fine today, ears micro suctioned too.
My football team beat MrJ’s much to my surprise (Southampton v Leeds).
Today will be more sport, a walk later and beef in red wine for dinner.
Happy couple llfl, nice temperature!
Thoughts with those struggling.
