Happy Birthday to MrSoop for tomorrow. Celebrate! flowers

Jaxjacky Thu 02-Nov-23 16:37:32

Yia I feel so sad for you both, our children are always our weak spot, they bleed, so do we, I can only wish you strength and support through this very difficult time, wish I could give you a hug too x

We’re fine thank you all, a few bits hurled around the garden and persistent rain, now lessened, we’re quite high up.
I didn’t say yesterday I took my daughter to the walk-in centre, 111 advised, at about 3:30, picking up grandchildren, bringing them home, feeding and reassuring them, all three chauffeused home about 8pm. Daughter is fine, ECG and checked over, GP appointment made for blood tests.
I was pretty tired last night so didn’t mention it, early bed, 8 hours sleep, better today and after taking her this morning to collect her car I’ve done very little!
Happy Birthday Mrsoop 🎂. It’s our wedding anniversary, so a good day for celebrations.

Oh Yia your poor DS, so awfully sad to see him like that, I hope something can be done to help him, sending ❤️
And what a relief for you Jax, thank goodness your DD is ok after such a fright yesterday. Hoping all is well with her, thank goodness she’s got you
A very Happy Birthday to MrSoop for tomorrow and a Happy Anniversary to you too Mr and Mrs Jax 💕💐🥂
We dropped DGD off at school this morning, had to wake her up about 7.30 as she was still fast asleep - that’s a first in our house. It was dry this morning so I was out in the garden clearing up leaves, the rain came in about 1pm so I retreated indoors and not done much since. DH is out watching DGS play football, he loves doing that even though he’s standing outside in the cold and dark most of the time.
Hope you can get out and about soon llfl, I’ve been watching the news about the storm damage in Jersey, scary stuff!

Urmstongran Thu 02-Nov-23 20:43:41

I wasn’t going to post tonight but then I saw the heartbreak that Yiayia is going through so I want to say ‘hold tight’ dear lady. It’s good your son can release the floodgates to you in safety. You provide security. Stay strong. He will get better, I promise. Understanding and support is of the utmost importance to that young man at present. He has it. You are his safety net. Yes, you’re scared but not as scared as he is right now. Your confidence in his return to better mental health will steady him. It WILL happen. Trust me. x

Blossoming Thu 02-Nov-23 20:46:02

Good evening dear Kitcheners. No walk today, the weather has been awful so got on with a few things indoors. Not as bad as where some Grans are though, hope you’re all safe and well. The hand is doing OK, though one finger looks a slightly odd shape. Perhaps it’s always been like that grin.

I worked in a project in Oxford LadyLFL, I remember how awful the flooding could be in winter.

YiaYia it must be so hard to see your son like that, I hope time with family will help to heal his spirit.

Glad your daughter is OK and you’ve been able to get some rest Jax, happy anniversary for tomorrow ❤️.

Goodnight, TOYA.

Good morning all and a Very Happy Birthday to MrSoop.
I hope it is the best of days.
Happy anniversary to JaxJacky and her DH.
I woke up this morning feeling better than I have recently.
I have had a shower and hair wash and am waiting for Sainsbury’s to deliver and then after lunch Iam off to a friend’s for coffee and cake.

Tomorrow I am out for a meal with my friend across the road.
We are going to a favourite restaurant of ours which has changed hands after many years owned by the same Italian family.
The new owners are of a religion which doesn’t eat pork or drink alcohol.
They are happy for customers to BYO but I am not as enthusiastic as I used to be.
It was a very old fashioned and quite formal experience, we knew the waiters by name as they did ours and to be greeted and showed into the cozy bar area and enjoy a drink while choosing from a small but lovely menu was a relaxing start to the evening.
It was also the first place I went to for an evening out after my H died.

I have started thinking about the festive season by ordering a small pre lit tree which is supposed to be very easy to put up!!
We shall see.

I hope all who had the terrible weather have an improvement today, my D who lives in W Sussex had very bad flooding and had to leave work and go through diversions to get home as some roads were closed.

I wish you all the best day you can have.

A very happy birthday to mr soop. 🎈🎂🎈

Congratulations to you both jax. 🍾. Pleased to read positive news about your daughter.

Feel for you yia, hold strong, you will both come through.

Pleased you’re feeling more positive ann. Hope you enjoy your meal.

Enjoy your break urms. I’m more pleased than I can express it’s possible.

Finally tackled BT this morning over our contract renewal. It took 25 minutes to get an acceptable (excellent!) outcome but what a relief. It truly shouldn’t be so hard though. X-rays for me this afternoon, a step towards treatment for a sore knee. I can also predict a coffee stop. Mr C has been accepted on a cardiac rehab course, deemed well enough to tackle the physical side. We’re delighted, whether he will be when the reality hits I’m not so sure grin.

Look after yourselves everyone. TOYA.

Happy birthday to MrSoop I hope he has a lovely day. I have been to Home Bargains with dd and dgs2 this morning. It was a successful visit as I have bought Christmas wrapping paper, gift bags, tags, and various small presents for people. I didn't mean to! Dd is a bad influence on me😊. She got loads of Christmas stuff too. Home for the day and some housework and washing ahead. Enjoy your day everyone

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Nov-23 12:00:18

Annsixty it's good to hear you so upbeat.

Naughtyneine Fri 03-Nov-23 12:36:19

Glad to hear that the damaged hands group has not had any new members!!!. Mine is fine now thankfully. I'm on a coach at the moment heading up to the Houses of Parliament for a private tour arranged by out MP. I was a bit worried as I've got a cold but have tested and it was negative..phew
Yia... Your darling boy will get better.. It's going to take time and patience to allow him to heal. I hope he gets all the help he needs from the medical profession and with your never ending love and support will be able to cope with life once more.
Happy Birthday Mr Soop🎂 and Happy Anniversary Jax🥂
Thank goodness your daughter is ok and you can enjoy your day.
We are just about to pull into the services ( Thankfully as my bladder is complaining but I get too claustrophobic to use the toilet on the coach) so I'll pop back to tell you how the your went later.

brook2704 Fri 03-Nov-23 16:26:18

Hoping Mr Soop is having an enjoyable birthday and cake is somewhere to be seen!
And you too Jax, hoping you’re enjoying today with your nearest and dearest 💕💕
It’s rained all day here, the little garden pond is overflowing and there’s big puddles everywhere. I’ve been to the gym for the circuits class and then Aqua Zumba - really good for a laugh but the best bit is sitting in the jacuzzi afterwards chatting away with my pals. One lady is getting on with organising our gym Christmas party, scheduled for sometime in December so I’ll be looking forward to that soon.
Goodness me grandmabatty you’re getting very well organised, well done. I’ll have to start soon
Looking forward to hearing more about the Houses of Parliament neine
Good to hear you’re feeling better ann , enjoy your meal out tomorrow

Jaxjacky Fri 03-Nov-23 16:45:24

Thank you all. It’s been like Clapham Junction here, next door are having a new driveway laid and bought a bottle of wine round to apologise for the noise. Two Christmas gifts delivered, ticks off the list; new duvet arrived and this weeks groceries.
We’re going out for dinner later and may call into our local on the way back where instead of my usual half of shandy an espresso martini could jump into my hand!
I hope Mrsoop is having a lovely day.
Enjoy your evening all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 03-Nov-23 16:56:42

Happy birthday Mr Soop. I hope Mrs Soop is treating you well. 🥂🎂🥳

Grannmarie Fri 03-Nov-23 18:00:00

Many happy returns of the day, Mr Soop! 🎂 I'm sure Mrs Soop is spoiling you. Have a lovely birthday.

Happy anniversary, 🥂 Jaxjacky and MrJ, many congratulations! Enjoy your special evening. I'm so glad things are improving for your DD, thank goodness you are near enough to help.

YiaYia, I'm so sorry to hear that your DS is in distress, but I'm glad that he is with you and your family. Knowing that he has your love and support will be a great help to him on his journey to good health. 🙏💙

Sounds like your DGD enjoys her sleepovers at yours, Brook, she sleeps like a wee log!😴

Urms, I hope you and Himself enjoyed your Thursday 'date night', great idea! I so happy to hear that you're off to Malaga soon, how wonderful. The sunshine ☀ will do you both a power of good. Safe travels.

Blossoming, good to hear that your hand is doing OK, hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Happy holidays, Gillgran, enjoy Norfolk, it sounds lovely.

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling much better, Annsixty, enjoy your outings. It's good to catch up with friends in nice restaurants, without the stress of entertaining.

Good news on the health front for you and MrC, Cornergran. I'm glad you're getting your knee seen to, hope your TKR is sooner rather than later. Great to hear that MrC is strong enough for Cardiac Rehab, wishing him well with that.

Grandmabatty, you've put me in the mood for a visit to Home Bargains, I've not really started Christmas shopping so far.
Glad to hear that your Mum was chatty when you visited, I hope she enjoys the company in her new room.

I'm glad your hand is fine now, Neine, enjoy your trip to Westminster, sounds very interesting.

👋 👋 Hello, Tillytrotter and MrsHat, nice to see you both.

I hope Ladyleftfieldlover and all those affected by the storm are safe and warm now, sorry to hear about all the damage caused.

Wishing everyone a good weekend, sorry if I've missed you, I do read all your messages. Enjoy your outings and family visits. I think we have a quiet weekend coming up, after being out last Saturday and Sunday. I'll enjoy the rest because I'm still feeling tired, falling asleep most afternoons. Blood tests on Tuesday should hopefully get to the bottom of it.🤞

TOYA

Yiayia4 Fri 03-Nov-23 18:07:23

Thank you all for your kind words means so much.
Happy Anniversary Jax and Mr Jax enjoy your meal. It’s our anniversary on Monday and my birthday tomorrow, family meal tomorrow evening.
Have kept DS as busy as possible he’s been sorting out our patio with DH and he’s going out with his brothers tonight. He’s so up and down it’s very hard for him but hopefully will get better with the medication.
Enjoy your evening all, heavy showers and cooler here.

brook2704 Fri 03-Nov-23 19:59:25

Oh my goodness I’ve had a panicky couple of hours as DD1 messaged to say she was at A&E with DGS1 but didn’t say what for! I was really worried and started checking out flight options for tonight or tickets for the sleeper train. Thankfully she messaged back to say he’d collided with another child at school and cut his head quite badly, but no lasting damage done. What a relief thank goodness. Off to open the wine now ..
Take care grannmarie, hope you get a restful weekend 💕

Urmstongran Fri 03-Nov-23 20:10:53

‘Evening All’.

We are warm and cosy here, already in our pyjamas. I looked at the clock just now and thought oh ...... (my stepfather) will just be setting off to his club around now. He has such great health and energy for a 91y old doesn’t he?
😊

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Nov-23 20:25:06

Brook what a worry. I hope he's ok

Jaxjacky Fri 03-Nov-23 20:29:55

I hope so Yia often medication takes time to kick in.
Crumbs brook what a fright, head wounds always bleed copiously too and relax 🥂.
I only eat dessert about twice a year, tonight was one of those nights, just right, not too sweet, raspberry.

brook2704 Fri 03-Nov-23 20:34:00

Thanks grandmabatty he’ll be fine I’m sure. I just worry so much, I’m sure most of us are the same!

Your stepfather sounds such a lovely man Urms, good to hear he enjoys getting out and about.

Grannmarie Fri 03-Nov-23 20:59:34

Happy birthday 🎂for tomorrow, YiaYia, enjoy your family meal.

Thank you, Brook. I hope your GS recovers quickly, what a fright for you. Of course we worry, it's our default setting.

Glad you and Himself are comfy and cosy Urms. Your dear step father is remarkable!

Your dessert looks scrumptious, Jaxjacky!

Wishing all a peaceful night, NNGB.
