A happy positive thread 😃

On this warm, sunny morning I walked to my beautiful local park where the only sounds were from wood pigeons and the water birds. Then to a nearby cafe for cappuccino and almond croissant. Back home I planted some daffodil bulbs and had an hour long phone call from my eldest niece. She’s been abroad for two weeks and said she’d missed our weekly chats. Simple pleasures.

I only popped out to the post office, but it was such a beautiful day (after the morning fog cleared) that instead of going home I drove right across the centre of Dartmoor, down the B3212, a great road with fantastic views.
So nice to have a happy thread.

We went for a lovely walk round Swan Lake with a couple of friends ( we are down at Philip Island with a Probus group) and saw lots of different birds through the bird hide window- black swans, cape barren geese, swamp harriers, purple hens and many small honeyeaters. Then we had a lovely lunch at a local place in the bush. In the evening 40 of us went to an Italian restaurant and had a good chat with wine flowing. Lovely day.

Today I am getting an extra kitchen wall cupboard fitted so that I can 're organise which I will love doing and I will be able to access cooking and baking things more easily. Looking forward to some lovely winter cakes and bakes.

Today im picking my 2 youngest grandchildren up from school, we go then to pick my eldest GD up from school and while we sit and wait we play I spy . Love it, so much fun. ❤

Tidying up in the garden ready for winter, picking lovely tender runner beans.

Please can we include this thread more often? I find that the pleasure we get in the little things of our lives outweighs all the negativity around us. I have really enjoyed reading these posts.

We all need happiness, peace and contentment and something to look forward to. Having said goodbye to the whole family yesterday, after a wonderful sunny weekend, we sat down with tea and biscuits and the cat came out of her hiding place joining us on the sofa - relishing the peace and quiet

My brother-in-law lost his wallet but been handed in, so there are good people about. We only hear of the bad ones.

Making a batch of beetroot chutney today. My kind neighbours have helped me out recently during a bout of illness so it makes me feel good to be doing something nice for them. Each one will receive a delicious pot for Christmas. 🌲

A friend left her iphone on a wall outside a hotel, and it was handed in. Another friend left her keys in a taxi, and the taxi driver came back with them. So reassuring.

I have had a lucky day so far, did wordle in 3 then the garage rang to say he car had passed the MOT. had a great haircut and going to meet a possible client about a little job.

My adult daughter sent me a photo of her Halloween nails yesterday! She absolutely loves Halloween and has had her nails painted orange with cobwebs on them. Trivial, I know, but it made me smile and made me happy that, even though she’s a grown up, successful business woman with 2 children of her own, she still sends her mum a photo of her nails❤️💕

I went to my art class this afternoon and we did water colour collages. Great fun and I'm with a group of lovely people.

My car passed its MOT yesterday and, because I remembered to remove all the clutter from it, I got a complimentary wash and valet. It hasn't been so clean, inside or out, since I bought it!

Yesterday the weather was glorious (unlike today's heavy rain). We went to a local cafe for coffee and cake, sat outside, then had a short walk and found some conkers. Today our grandson said he hasn't got any conkers yet so we're threading them on shoelaces for a game when we pick him up from school. Simple pleasures.

A lady I make birthday cards for came out with me today for lunch. She is a lovely bubbly lady always looking after her grandchild, always kind. When I went to the toilet she paid for me! I don’t think that has ever happened to me before. So kind .

My little GD is here for the day (It’s the tattie holidays in Scotland) and her mum was able to come in for a quick coffee before she went off to work. It’s a lovely day so we’ve been working in the garden, lugging compost to fill new beds. We’re off to a garden centre later then GD is coming with me when I have my flu & Covid jags. Not that they’ll be pleasant but I’m grateful to be able to have the protection over the winter months.

I too am packing /sorting for a new build house- at last i got smiled on by the housing association people!- (i moved last summer after 10 years in a drab cramped place,and had high hopes for it, however private landlord said he 'now couldnt do repairs/jobs unless urgent ones, due to cost of living)- final straw was when he wacked rent up by a further £65, and he will again in february 24- i'd forgotten i had bid on these new homes it was so long ago- but all brand new so i said yes!- its a bit smaller than other &no real storage, so its hard work sorting/donating/giving away/tipping, & ive had to harden my heart to cull things but i know it will be worth it.Just hope its all packed in time🫤
