I'm hoping its our year.π
What was your happiest moment today?
Everywhere there is bad news be it in the world or at home, in families or within our own 4 walls, its worrying, its sad, its heartbreaking and its beyond our understanding so to lift the dark, depressing and worrying feelings we have I have decided to start an uplifting π, happy π, joyful π and POSITIVE π thread......
Toooooo much negativity πͺ everywhere we look and causes anxiety because there is nothing we can do about some situations. We need to let happy, joy and positive feelings circulate around us, hard I know, but for our OWN sanity we must grab the tiniest bit of positivity as it passes us by.
I will start..... today I have been to see a neighbour who is in a care home and we have had a right laugh and a venture down that wonderful, peaceful Memory Lane π and tomorrow I am picking my 2 youngest grandchild up from school and I have bought them a Curly Whirly each π π π π π π π.
I'm hoping its our year.π
Brilliant fantastic and joyous..... allllll these happy happy things that bring us happiness and fulfilment.... no matter what they are THEY BRING US HAPPINESS BE IT FOR 5 MINUTES OR 5 HOURS IT MAKES NOOOOO MATTER ....
π βΊ π
Reap the simplest things in our lives that bring a smile to our faces and joy to our hearts.

I'm dog sitting a gorgeous westie for 3weeks half way through his stay today and enjoying his company and cuddles
My positivity today has been in our Community garden with 2 other volunteers for 2 hours tidying the flower bed and clearing 3 large beds of courgette, pumpkin and squash plants. So the compost bin is well full and I have a bag of courgettes home so plan to check out a new soup recipe to use them up.
If I can keep the momentum going in this sunshine I want to clear an area in my own garden and get bark mulch down. That would be really positive for me.
This morning I cleaned out the gutters and am feeling so proud of myself, now I'm waiting for my grandchildren to come out of school so we can go for a well deserved ice cream. Happy Daze.
I hadnβt been out of the house for a few weeks as l hurt my leg badly, it is on the mend now.
I had a little walk and met a lovely neighbour, we had a chat and it made me appreciate how much l have missed the company of others, even if it is just village gossip!
THANK YOU !!
Today I visited Seaton Delaval Hall in Northumberland. It's a beautiful National Trust property. The smell of the roses in the rose garden was gorgeous, especially for anyone like me just getting a sense of smell back after covid.
My little dog has been unwell, but he has turned a corner now thanks to a special diet that is helping his kidneys. Amazing !
I found 4 second class stamps I didn't know I had.
Small triumphs
redhead - When we returned home I cried with relief and was overwhelmed how it lifted my spirits.
Yes. I cried on just reading your post. I know just how you feel.
Our children are precious. β€οΈ
Been on a lovely mornings shopping, coffee and cake with my lovely daughter in law ππ
I had an unexpected "tour" round my oldest son's new home before I'd even got out of bed.. courtesy of WhatsApp! I feel SO lucky we can keep in touch across the world like this.
Lovely idea. I have taught my very talented pupil the viola today. I taught him the piano for eight years, from the beginning, and he started as a junior scholar at one of the most prestigious music colleges in the country. He goes every Saturday. He is also showing great promise as a composer. Last week he told me that his new piano teacher has been very pleased with his technique so far (a huge boost for me, too) and this week he told me that one of his compositions is going to be performed later this term by the college orchestra and the BBC Singers! He is such a lovely young man (he was fifteen earlier this year) and I am thrilled for him.
Just back from appointment with Surgeon who will be doing my knee replacement on Monday. So happy to be able to look forward to getting my life back and doing all the things I enjoy that make life worthwhile.
We have a couple of reasons to be happy:-
One of our grandsons is 4 on Sunday. Not exceptional you may say, but the poor lad has spina bifida and a number of other medical issues.
He has just had an operation on his tonsils and adenoids and all went well.
He is currently in a hospice giving his mum and dad a bit of respite for a few days, but he'll be home on Sunday.
A happy early 4th birthday N.
Arrived home from a lovely week in Lanzarote with my friend ...enjoyed the holiday but great to be home already made plans to see my grandchildren after school tomorrow ...they are my joy
My Housing Association started on my new roof this week in preparation for fitting solar panels next week. Cheap electricity here it comes
.
EEJit. Wishing your grandson many happy and healthy returns of his birthday. All the best for the future.

I phoned the firm today that DH bought a refurbished laptop from a month ago and told them that the battery seemed to have died the day before yesterday and that we had tried using the flex from my laptop of the same make to make sure it was the battery not the transformer or flex that had developed a fault.
The man I spoke to said, "I'll send a return address label to your husband's e-mail if you would take the trouble to send the computer back If I can repair it, I will, i f not, I'll send a similar laptop that does work.."
I agreed, wrapped the computer and flex up, weighed the parcel and went to the post office, expecting to have to pay postage.
I handed over the addressed label, the clerk scanned the code and said, "Just put it in the GLS bin please, the postage is paid."
Now I call that good old fashioned service!
Wowwwww...
Whether its 1, 2 or 3 reasons to be happy it doesn't matter.... the main thing is its something
Congratulations Nannan2, what a wonderful surprise, you must be so happy.
Like others I too am finding this thread so uplifting. Making me smile on this rainy afternoon. All the best everyone x
Oh I can share mine
I sponsor a girl in Uganda and in a letter this year she told me that her favourite chore is looking after the family goats. When it came round to her birthday I really wanted to buy her a goat and while the charity offers a gift catalogue and you can buy a goat in it, you can't give it to a specific family/child just to one in need. You can only give a birthday donation to your sponsored child and the charity decides what they need most. So I gave my usual money donation.
Yesterday I got a letter from the sponsored girl. As she is 14 now they seem to changed how they do it and just gave her the money to buy what she wanted. And guess what, she bought herself a goat! The money stretched for some sugar and some soap as well. She send me a photo of herself with her goat. I honestly was so happy that I had shed some tears of happiness.
Clearly it was all meant to work out like this.
Happy young girl and happy goat and happy me for being able to give her this happiness
The pool where I swim was very quiet this morning. Bliss, then an older gentleman got in with a mask and snorkel. He swam a full length and as he swam towards me it looked as if Jaws had turned up in our pool. Either that or a submarine periscope was heading my way. It just made me laugh out loud.
My eldest DD came over this morning. She bought a lovely lunch with her plus HM cinnamon buns. She accompanied me on a walk and we laughed a lot., real βbelly laughsβ .
SUPER β
Last night I met three friends I've known since school for a lovely meal out. One of them has recently had a hip replacement after years of pain and it was such a joy to see her walking around normally. To add to that, she told us that her husband had been given the 'all clear' by the consultant following cancer treatment.
What a great evening.
What a welcome thread! Today DH and I pottered about in town and I went into the sewing shop: my first visit there. Had a lovely chat with the owner: I will be returning there. I feel inspired to return to sewing by machine.
Two weeks ago I had a lovely weekend away with family (16 of us), we rented a big house together. It was lovely just being together. Last Sunday I met my closest friends for breakfast in a garden centre. My DH is lovely, weβve been married 36 years, my Labrador is gorgeous and I better mention my gorgeous adult kids who are wonderful. Life is busy, weβve dealt with friends passing suddenly and illness and it makes you realise that life is for living x
