Or deliberately leave it in another room?

I never have a phone in the bedroom unless Im expecting a very important call as I dont like to be woken up. There is a cordless phone in my upstairs office next door if I need to make a call.

I would never walk around the house with a phone in my hand as some folks do. Nothing is that interesting or imortant.

Cabbie
my family know if they need to reach me urgently to call on the landline
What if you’re not home?

This morning I rang DD to remind her we were lunching out, booked an aquafit appointment, confirmed the time offered for my physio appointment, did an online order for collection because we are suddenly expecting visitors (they rang me), asked the chemist if DH’s tablets were available yet and started this week’s Duolingo. All on my phone whilst waiting for DD to pick me up.
Carrying your phone around is optional and not something to be scorned. My phone has to be small enough to fit it my trouser pockets.
I had to laugh though, when I saw on Say Yes to the Dress, they make wedding dresses with pockets. Would they be for mobile phones? Could anyone ring in at the just cause or impediment part of the service?

I only answer calls if the name flashes up on the screen. Otherwise,if they are genuine, they will leave a message and I will ring back.

No, it’s always left on. It’s put onto silent mode for theatre, cinema, church and surgery, etc, but otherwise it doesn’t get switched off.
It doesn’t go in the bedroom.

Me too. Mine is always on, but I don't always answer. that's why I don't understand people seeing phones as intrusive. Answering is optional, as people can leave a message, or I can call them back when it's convenient.
