Uncanny TV programme about the supernatural BBC2

I had loads of questions too, but if they revisit it I hope they'll be answered. I didn't mind the presenter but now you mention it having the experts in a pub was not a good idea

I saw the programme and though that it was dreadfully composed and edited, doing no favours to the fascinating subject matter, and seemingly going out of it's way to make everyone seem as amateur and incompetent as possible.
eg, woman tells tale of seeing a named woman in her house as a child. Instead of checking the census or the Land Registry we are taken to a random pub to listen to the 'opinions' of self styled experts.

I've just watched and found it interesting, but left me with lots of questions:
-Didn't any of the 3 girls talk to their parents about what they saw?
-I think Kate had a sibling. Did they see anything?
-Have the current owners seen anything?
The presenter said they may re-visit the story in a later episode. I hope some of my questions may be answered. I hate lose ends.

I did watch about half of the first programme in this series, but found I really disliked the presenter.

Sounded a good idea for people to tell their own stories but for me needed a more serious presenter.

I agree with Witzend that the programme was over dramatised. It was a supposdly true and serious recollection but the spooky effects took away from the seriousness of it.
Definately interesting and something unexplainable.

NemosMum, yes there is a certain amount of entertainment, but lots of us have also had experiences we can't explain & its good to see this covered as a serious
programme

We used to feel the prescence ofa cat we had taken in after it died, felt it brush past our legs, or a cat flashing past a doorway, not our own current black cat- but as he was around with the other cat before its death i think he saw/felt it too. We just moved ou of a victorian house where someone must have passed on over the years, lights would flicker etc and doors open after been closed etc, and our cat was defintely spooked often- he didnt like to be left downstairs on his own anymore either(dont think it was the ghost cat though as that was his friend) whoever it was didnt feel like there was any malice in them.

I've not had any 'experiences' but I would love to. I would never scoff at anyone who says they have but I would love to have proof for myself.

It's entertainment with scriptwriters - don't be gulled!

I liked it because it had a sceptic but there were some things even he couldn't explain. I know what you mean about the presenter, he seems to wear a lot of red which I don't like, but over the years I've trained myself not to worry about presenters on tv that I don't like, I miss out otherwise

i've now watched it on podcast and convinced with the mrs howard story. I wondered why there was no mention of the children, as they were back then, telling their parents at the time, surely you would.

didn't like the presenter either.

I ended up switching it off before the end. I thought the ‘Miss Howard’ story was entirely convincing, but I found the presenter annoying - over dramatic - and I don’t see why a programme like this has to have a professional sceptic trying to debunk everything.

Disappointing, because I was really looking forward to this series.
I will try the podcasts instead.

I've got that ready to watch. It's right up my street, as long as it's not one of those 'Paranormal' ones that have people acting that they've just seen a ghost,they really annoy me!!

I have had several experiences which I can’t explain. The very personal ones have been very comforting to me.

My lovely cat had to be put to sleep on late August and since then I’ve heard her meow and felt her walk across my bed ( she always slept with me) We have two other cats and they have acted several times as if they are really spooked and we think they have seen her around the house

Sounds good yes I’ve had a few experiences that I can say were fascinating. One where at my brothers funeral I could see him on his bike watching the cortège my husband later told me he’d seen him also.
