Very dark, wet and dismal today, but I don’t care.

Christmas puddings are on the hob to simmer until 3.30 so I can’t go out anyway - I need to keep topping up the water. And I won’t feel I ought to be doing something healthy and virtuous out of doors, instead of sitting on the sofa and getting on with my knitting. 🙂

Greyduster

The sun has decided to put in an appearance here, but I have my feet up listening to Vaughan Williams, waiting for my floors to dry (not too quickly I hope😊), and then I’m going to make some mushroom soup. Why? Who knows?

Yum I love home made mushroom soup and always keep some in the freezer.. just add a dash of cream or yoghurt and away you go.. and it's so easy to make

I hope you enjoyed your day and the Christmas pud smelt nice.

So the day has gone quite differently to how I had thought it would but it has turned out quite well. I had been swimming yesterday for the first time for a while and oh boy am I paying for it today! Back is bad , nothing new there but the knees have been protesting all day and been hobbling about. I had found a great new (new to me) place that sells second hand but beautifully conditioned cashmere . Told a couple of other women who come to a group I go to. Neither had a car and I offered to take them to visit it and find out about it etc, It was raining at first but improved, Great place to visit, I got a small whole in my treasured sweater mended beautivully done, and the other two were thrilled to buy a jacket each at a very reasonable cost. Then we drove through the lovely autumn colours but avoiding quite a bit of flooding and went to a cafe where I enjoyed a jacket potato and salad and coffee and the others had sandwiches. So we had stayed out later than originally planned but very pleased with our day,. Now I have to catch up with some of the jobs I left but it has been a good day and both my friends said how much they had enjoyed it so that was great.
