Sleep 8 hrs Go to bed when tired varies depending on how strenuous my day has been. I sleep on a grounding sheet
Rarely wake up before I’ve slept for 8 hrs.
I’m sure the grounding sheet helps with inflammation in my joints too. So worth the investment

What time do you go to bed
(111 Posts)and how long do you sleep.
11.00 - 11.30. Don’t read, look at devices or watch tv in bed. Don’t have to get up in the night unless dog needs to go out (which husband deals with). Occasionally wake up for a while which is good thinking time if something needs sorting. Wake about 7.30 and get up. I suspect my epilepsy medication - barbiturates - is conducive to a good night’s sleep!
I've been an insomniac since childhood, as well as being naturally nocturnal, so my sleep pattern is all over the shop! I live alone, apart from my pooch, and have a chronic health condition, neither of which help my sleep (my dog is elderly and is becoming incontinent so he needs to be let out every 3 hours or so throughout the day and night or he'll have an accident. And my health condition has interfered with my sleep for years). So I don't have a set bedtime or wake up time. Last night I was settled by 1am, the night before it was 3.30am, and some nights I'm still awake at 7 or 8 in the morning! I would have loved to have had a "normal" sleep pattern all my life but it was never to be (I often used to sit up all night reading when I was a young teen, then go and do a full day at school with no problem at all, before dozing off on the bus home, preparing to do it all again....)
Whatever time I go to bed, I can still be awake at 3, 4 or even 5. Watch TV until husband comes to bed, he’ll be going through social media catching up, while I’m probably finishing watching FBI, NCIS etc that he doesn’t watch or catching up with the soaps that I’ve missed if we’ve had the Grandchildren while playing games on the iPad. TV off, hubby asleep I’m still on the iPad but listening to Audible with one of my EarPods… if I wake up early I put the other EarPod in and go back to sleep… Wake up anytime…
Bed at 10 up two or three times a night for the loo. Toss and turn but start work a bit later.
Amazing the number of poorly sleeping women. I thought I was a poor sleeper but I am sorry to see so many who are worse..
Bed around 11.30…. Up once during the night for the loo… try not to open my eyes!!! Back in bed then sleep til around 7am
Mostly we turn off the tv around midnight then shower then I sit at my computer for half an hour or so, get into bed around 1 - 1.30 read my book for an hour or so until I fall asleep. Then we are usually up by 7 ish.
I go to bed about 11pm - read for about an hour- get up about 8.15am- and have one or two loo visits but go straight back to sleep.
I go to bed approx 1115 and sleep to approx 0730. If I have trouble going to sleep I listen to sleep meditation tracks using the Insight Timer app (it has loads of tracks and is free) and air pods.
usually go to bed between midnight and 1am . Live alone so dont disturb anyone else. Always read when I go to bed, Have a lot of pain especially my back so often dont wake because I have had enough sleep but have turned over or something and the pain in my back wakes me. Try to stay in bed especially on these cold dark nights but if I cannot doze off give up and get up sometimes about 4.30am. But it is a good time to do emails and read, and then try to go back to sleep. At the moment getting up about 6.30am and went swimming on sunday very early , which did help my back a bit. Eventually I will be so tired I will get a decent nights sleep, but that tends to make me feel like a zombie when I wake up after extra sleep. I cheer myself up with the joy of Bach before 7 on radio three so will be sat with my coffee to hear that in peace and quiet and that improves the day whatever the weather.
I dont have a phone or any screens in the bedroom. I go there to sleep in 3-4 hour bursts. If Im not asleep after about 30 minutes I get up and do things until I am absolutely dropping with exhaustion.
I’m a morning lark, not a night owl. I do segmented sleep. Unless I’m socializing I’ve been known to go to bed as early as 6:30-7:00. But usually by 8:00 for sure. I don’t fight it.
I’ll sleep for 3-4 hrs but seem to wake up anywhere from 11:00-1:00 (my witching hour!) and I get up. I don’t fight it. Some nights I make a cup of coffee. I’m awake for 2-3 hrs. I start making notes and plan my day, my week, my life and read a lot. Then I get drowsy again.
Back to bed for another 3-4 hrs. I sleep even more soundly on this 2nd flight. It’s not how long you sleep at a stretch but how many hrs you get during your 24 hrs. I’m up I’m up by 5:00 or 6:00 AM.
I have all my energy in the morning and do my housework, then go out and play.
Cheers!

I live on my own bed about 10-30 always listen to audio book set timer for 45mins usually drop off and find I have missed a few chapters of book sometimes I can get back to sleep other times still awake and have to replay the missed chapters ,
So rather erratic sleep pattern wish I could sleep just 6hrs right through🤷♀️
This is exactly me , I love my audio books at bedtime but it isn't always conducive to sound sleep !
Bed about 11 but earlier if I’m especially tired. Normally asleep as soon as head touches pillow, up for loo breaks a couple of times but usually straight back to sleep. Wake and up ( cant lay in bed awake) between 6 & 7am. Have been known to have an occasional afternoon hour nana nap. When I listen to other’s disturbed sleep patterns I do feel fortunate
Usually go up just before midnight, but I could quite easily stay up till gone 1am.
Write my diary in bed - or my chat to late DH, as I like to call it.
Then do the Wordle, Worldle, and listen to BBC World Service till I fall asleep.
Get up between 7.30-8.30.
I'm an owl, bed around 2am, read till 3am. Get up around 10am. Don't sleep in day.
Usually 11pm, read for around half an hour and we get up around 7.30 - 8.00 Then out around 9.30 to walk our dog.
I have stopped having audible on at night as I found I couldn't get to sleep, so sticking to reading ebooks.
Sleep quite well unless the dog wakes up and wants to go out.
Good days? Bed by 10, sleep till morning...bad days...go to bed 9.30, 11pm get up and take a sleeping tablet. Go back to bed, get up at 1am (when it doesn't work) and spend the night awake.
Spend the next 2-4 days like this (minus the sleeping pill on alternate nights) Eventually go to bed 9pm on night 2,3 or 4 and sle 18 hours. Then sadly it's Eat, Sleep, Repeat.
I go to bed in these chilly nights about 8. Listen to LBC on the Alexa
The talk hosts have become my company if alone debating and talking about all and everything ( phone ins are wonderful) especially Clive Bull
Husband 12 ish then reads me 1 ish then he reads to me and I’m out like a light to his dulcet tones.
9.30 to 10.00. I'm naturally a night owl but my husband goes to bed early and gets up very early so I decided a couple of years ago to try to adapt my sleeping hours more to his - though I don't wake naturally at 5.00 am as he does!
It seems to suit me fine and works well at the moment as I now give my grandchildren breakfast and take them to school three days a week.

This is interesting, apparently this pattern is what people used to do naturally centuries ago. You can imagine that they would go to bed when the sun went down, then apparently they woke for a meal in the middle of the night, then slept until dawn.
I think that you are doing the natural thing.
Many people seem to wake in the early hours and lie there thinking for a while and I gather that some recommend that insomniacs get up for a while until they feel like going back to bed.
11 pm. 8-9 hrs

And anyone else looking for something to help them sleep....Google The Honest Guys on your phone when you are in bed and listen to their guided meditation. It's not at all 'woo'.... The first time you'll probably need to listen to it twice. Works well for me!
