Seems to be common to read in bed that’s what I love too. Love to snuggle in bed nice and quiet away from tv hubby stops up bit longer. Aggravating as he disturbs me and cold

I go to bed about 9 because I get fed up with my elderly cat miaowing for hours! Then I watch telly in bed for an hour or so and set the timer to turn it off when I get sleepy. Go to the loo 2 or 3 times and try not to wake up fully and mostly get back to sleep straight away then awake at 5 and read for an hour until the telly goes back on at 6.

It seems to be commoner to be a night owl than a lark and old people seem obsessed with their sleep.
I fall asleep as soon as cats, dog and self have found suitable spots in the bed. I’m a restless sleeper but they’re all very tolerant as I’m their outsize hot water bottle. Sleeping alone must be so lonely.
We go to bed at nine and get up at fivish.

I go to bed about 11pm - read for about an hour and get up at 8.00-8.30 - may have one or two loo visits during the night. I go to sleep again afterwards- no problem at the moment.

What does anyone consider to be a "decent night's sleep". A decent night's sleep to me is not waking up with bags under the eyes....and feeling refreshed. I have about 5-6 hours a night. It's getting less as I get older....I need less, but rather than twiddle thumbs in bed or worse, lie awake awaiting the dawn, I get up. I can do all sorts of jobs during the night which I don't want to tackle during the day. I write at night too. As 3a.m. seems to be the "ping" (and wee) time I do wake at that time and move around.....going back to bed again around 5a.m. and having a snooze and a read until ....6-7ish. I can go to bed anything between 8p.m. till 12p.m. depending on what sort of day I have planned. Days are incredibly busy as I also work as well as being retired. I confess....I don't actually want to stop and it is a pleasure to get out of bed in the mornings. I also have an afternoon nap if I want one and it's the whole caboodle.....strip off....into bed and the minute my head hits the pillow, I'm gone. I never ever lie awake thinking "I can't sleep". Just get up and do stuff.......I gave up on conventional sleeping patterns years ago.

I usually go about 11pm do some exercise on top of the bed, then get Ito bed and read a chapter of my book, then lights off. sometimes I'm straight off to sleep, other times it can take 1, 2, or 3 hours to finally get to sleep. The later I get to sleep, the earlier I wake up - life just ain't fair!!

Usually we head to bed around 12.30, husband is asleep immediately. i read for an hour or so. We get up anywhere between 5.30 and 7. Last night was a bad night, I didnt fall asleep until after 3 so I am a little fuzzy this morning

Well when my back is bad, it upsets all my sleeping patterns, and so it is more how comfortable I can be sat up or lying down. About midnight or a little before, always read in bed and hope to get off to sleep reasonably quickly. If I am in too much pain and cant sleep I read for another while, if I lie there wide awake it doesnt help me and I gete annoyed because I am tired but cant sleep!!

I live alone. Go to bed around 9 to 10pm.
Wake every 2 hrs, and sometimes can't get back to sleep due to Arthritic pain. Get up at 6.00am by the latest. Sometimes I am tired enough to nap in the afternoons.

Go to bed between 1 and 1.30. Play a game on my phone until I'm really tired usually around 2.30 Fall straight asleep then wake between 9am - 10.30.
Tried many times to sleep earlier but can't.
