Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 11°C

Yesterday it rained non stop so no walk, just pottered about indoors and did a few jobs. It turned quite windy in the afternoon too, but nothing like the terrible scenes from Jersey and Scilly. Nothing planned for today, There are a few YouTube craft tutorials I want to watch. My hand doesn’t hurt as long as I don’t do too much with it. I’m drinking tea in bed while I read the thread, we were up late last night watching a rather silly sci fi movie. The perks of retirement grin

Hope your DH feels better soon Ashcombe.

Happy Anniversary to you both Jaxjacky.

Glad you out Marydoll but sorry it was so crowded. I’m sure people are ruder and less patient than they used to be!

Hope you feel better soon Oops and the throat spray helps.

Hope no Grans and families have been badly affected by the weather. Stay safe and warm, have the best day you can 🌻

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
It really is Sunnyside here today after foul weather yesterday.
Hair now coloured and cut and will pack today for getaway tomorrow. Two climates to pack for, south of England until Monday, then Bahrain with DD.

On Halloween night, I forgot about trick and treat and my lovely neighbours’ children came round with friends looking just the ticket in their get up. I scrambled together a bag with a few biscuits, including Jacobs creams, some chocolate off a big slab and a banana! I’m sure that must have been a disappointment…
Happy anniversary JaxJacky, thoughts to Georgesgran 💐and I will read through properly later.

A late good morning from South Lanarkshire, very still but dull. It seems to take me ages to get going these days.

Ash, our family story of disastrous flying food concerns a neighbour during the war who, when a bombing raid was going on, ran through the pitch black house throwing Lourdes water everywhere, to discover in the morning that she’d lifted the tomato sauce bottle by mistake!

Hope you have a lovely family weekend Taichinan it sounds really good fun.

Off to visit my sister in law today, she is 87 now, an extremely bright woman but she struggles to find words now and it’s hard to see. Things do improve as the visit settles down and we find our rhythm again.

Wishing everyone the best day possible x

Good morning all from a calmer and dry day in Glasgow.

Seeing footage of storm damage in certain areas was awful to watch. The size of the uprooted tree pic you posted Mizuna bears witness to how strong the winds were. Seeing flooded areas reminded me of the floods in Brisbane when DD2’s house was completely submerged. They have since moved to a higher area to start over, having to replace all that was lost.

As DH can no longer drive, his car was sold yesterday. DD1 and her partner dropped the car off at the dealership then returned here for coffee and a blether, DH enjoyed a man to man conversation with W for a change as opposed to being surrounded by females and he tells us, this talk is too girly for me.

A Waitrose visit today is a must apart from that a peaceful day after a busy week will be a welcome change.

Happy Anniversary to you both Jaxjacky💞🥂

Kind thoughts to all for a peaceful day too.

Dry and bright here. Bed stripped and remade, washer almost done. Dh will hopefully hang them out.
Congratulations and commiserations as appropriate. I’ll read your posts later.
Wish I had something to talk about, you all lead such interesting lives.

Good morning from Stoke-on-Trent. Much nicer than yesterday. We've even got sunshine at the moment! I'm a bit late today. We're selling our house and downsizing to a bungalow - well, that's the plan! There is just the two of us now. Son and daughter left home and we have a lovely 8 month old grandson. Had potential buyers looking around this morning .

Good morning Mick and all. I came back home to West Sussex last night. DD managed to stay up for nearly an hour yesterday evening and we got the children bathed. A neighbour will take the children to school and DD1 has offered to pick them up as she has a day off. I will probably go back later today when I have caught up with washing etc here.

Your story of the Lourdes water/ tomato ketchup made me laugh, Stilllearning. Our family’s memory is of DH doing the shaking the bottle of ketchup without checking the top was screwed on. The children were quite young and were delighted to see Daddy cause ‘disaster’ instead of one of them!

Best wishes to those facing a house move - I’m determined we will absolutely minimise our possessions before we move again (working on it but not very successfully 😕).

Happy Anniversary, Jax & Mr J 🥂

Thoughts with you, Georgesgran and Taichinan.
