Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its been raining in the night here in brackley.
I have my sister and brother in law staying in the residental home where I live , in the guest room .
Today will do family graves in the town cemetery, hoping to buy some reasonable size gravel for the graves to maybe stop weed growth over the winter .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all and it’s bright and sunny here in Essex.

Today is our DS1’s 50th birthday family gathering. The actual day is next weekend but he has other things planned . He was born 6 weeks prematurely and in an incubator for a week.
A lovely chap who we are very proud of. ❤️.

Mizuna so glad you enjoyed your jacket potato with cheese. 👍.
Grandmabatty so sorry to hear of your sons estrangement .
Focus on your gs’s special day. 💐.

Take care and have a gentle day. 🍁🍂

Good morning from a grey Liverpool where last night’s 21st birthday party went with a swing with the younger end going clubbing afterwards. Doubt if they will surface this morning!

Staying in a lovely hotel but sleep eluded me after I realised that my train ticket for tomorrow is in the kitchen diary at home. As I booked on line I hope one of the young can find it for me in one of the emails. Otherwise I have a problem. How stupid is that - very cross with myself.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. As I look out of the conservatory it’s blue to the east and grey to the west……
Church this morning then Sunday Lunch Club at the village pub.
Lots of photos yesterday collecting our cheque meant a lot of standing around so the rest of my day will be restful.
Enjoy the birthday tea Mary.
Wishing you all a good day.

Morning from a quiet South Lanarkshire, if it stays dry a painter is coming to varnish/oil my garden room, another thing to tick off my list.

I’m sorry to read that there’s no improvement in the situation with your son Grandmabatty💐, oddly I was actually thinking about that just last week and hoping things had moved on for you.

Grammaretto, you make me feel weak at the knees!

A long but enjoyable day yesterday meeting up with some girls/old ladies to celebrate 60 years since graduating from college. The number feels a bit unreal but in spite of some sadness about missing colleagues it was a lovely occasion.

So nice to read about you having your family with you Mick

Thoughts as always for those who need them and wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday.

Good morning everyone from a damp but brightening Northampton, quite mild out at 13°C.

Decided not to go to the local Christmas markets yesterday as the weather put me off. Instead got all my household tasks.done, Hoovered upstairs and down, removed dust from the sitting room, changed the batteries in the fairy lights,.re-arranged and cleaned the kitchen worktops.

Then my second Alexa arrived which I spent about an hour setting up and put in the kitchen. Managed to link it to the one in the sitting room, so that I can ask one to play music and it comes through on both.
Also swapped my kitchen and bedroom radios back again, as I wasn't happy with the sound quality of the one in the bedroom.

A slight change of plan in the evening; only DS and younger DGD came down in the evening, as. DD-out-law thought it better to stay home and chaperone elder DGD's 16th birthday party, which I thought was wise. We decided on pizza and fries for dinner which went down well. Settled down to watch an Agatha Christie film, except DS and DGD slept through it, complete with their own soundtrack of snores!

A dance Sunday for me - am out to my tapathon later this morning to attempt the world record and raise money for Children in Need. Our Silver Swans ballet dancers are also performing three dances. After all that exertion some welcome refreshments, and a friendly team quiz. The first year my team won, but last year we were rubbish!

Roast chicken for dinner tonight, and a restful evening in front of the tv.

May all our Sundays bring peace and contentment.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp and 10°C currently. We’ve planned Sunday lunch, all being well, with my stepfather and booked a table at a pub he likes.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning all from a sunny Algarve. A very heavy dew this morning. We’ve been so lucky with the weather this Autumn, I wish I could send you all some sunshine.

SiL is visiting again, he arrived in time to take DH to one of his hospital appointments last Friday, letting DN and I have a break. He’ll be here another couple of days before he goes back.

Good morning from yet another wet & windy day in Sefton.
A visit to the farm shop & a supermarket food shop this morning. This dismal weather is forecast to be with us all day so an indoor day it is. I'm sure I will find plenty of jobs that need doing....or perhaps not.
Wishing you all a peaceful day.

NannyJan53 Sun 19-Nov-23 09:17:03

Good morning from a very wet, but brightening Black Country.

A day of housework and general sorting out cupboards yesterday. I had £200 total in cash for my recent birthday off various people. I put it in an envelope and put in jewellery box ready for a shopping spree. It is now not there!! I don't remember taking it out. So searched all over, still not found. I am losing the plot!

Gym this morning. Roast chicken for dinner tonight.

My friend who lives nearby is 70 today, so she has caught me up. We have known each other since we were 18!

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Marydoll, thank you so much. I quickly learnt how to disable the camera and have done it flowers

Good morning Mick and all from a wet northwest coast.
My friend arrived yesterday to stay and we popped into town after a lunch of quiche to see the lights and there were jolly festivities going on. A quiet night, I cooked salmon fillets and we watched a bit of Downton Abbey which I have seen before.
He’s going home today and his visit has lifted my gloom somewhat as his company is good, excellent conversation and the same interests.

Hope you enjoy your relatives stay Mick and thoughts to all with worries 🌺

RosiesMaw Sun 19-Nov-23 09:29:49

Good morning all, turned out nice again in N Bucks!
Youngest D is 42 today - when did she stop being “little D” ?
I don’t think I can postpone a “final” tidy up of the garden for the winter any longer so that’s my plan for today.
With kind thoughts to all who are poorly or in distress and wishing you all a pleasant day.

Georgesgran Sun 19-Nov-23 09:50:43

Good morning from Durham. I’m a bit miserable, having a lazy weekend trying a fight off a cold. A dry afternoon is forecast, so a bit of fresh air, leaf raking might do me good, if I get wrapped up.
Best wishes to all. X

Taichinan Sun 19-Nov-23 09:51:14

Good morning all from a bright - at the moment - Angus coast. Yesterday did brighten up for a while, but then we were shrouded in thick mist. There'll be a deal more of that until this soggy ground dries out!
I'm amazed by how much entertainment I'm finding watching the birds at my new bird table. They're a varied crowd to be sure, but the one that surprised me most was the visiting woodpecker. I had no idea there were any round here! The only one I had ever seen before that was up in one of the glens
Today I am off to Perth to meet up with DD and NewMan who are up here for a few days. DGD3 and her boyfriend will be with us too. DGD is an ambassador for Winston's Wish, a charity giving help and support to grieving children (she herself was only 10, and her sister 12, when they lost their Daddy). DD, as I've mentioned before I think on here, works permanently for WAY (Widowed and Young) and she and DGD are doing an Instagram Live conversation on Tuesday evening, along with another mum and daughter, to highlight grief in all its forms for Children's Grief Awareness Week. My niece was 14 when she lost her dad, and I was 16 when I lost mine, and it was certainly the case back then that 'children should be seen and not heard' - I'm glad that's changing for the better!
Must be off - places to go and people to see. Makes a lovely change.
Grandmabatty I'm so sorry flowers but enjoy little DGS2's birthday. And Mick I'm sure you're enjoying your sister's visit. Ash thank you for the Edith Gaskell piece.
Have a good day all x

Morning all, I am having a lazy day, I intend to do nothing until I prepare and cook roast pork this evening.

Will now settle down and read your posts

Be good folks, and remember if you can’t be careful 🙋‍♀️🦩

LauraNorderr Sun 19-Nov-23 10:58:01

Good morning Mick, good morning all from grey and drizzly West Cheshire.
You must be very proud of your daughter and granddaughters Taichinan, for all of you to turn your personal tragedy and sorrow in to good for others is such a worthwhile achievement.
We had a woodpecker in our Anglesey garden, rarely spotted but often heard, noisy beggar. Lovely and relaxing watching the birds.
Glad to hear that your spirits have been lifted Hollysteers, good friends do that for each other.
I had no idea about your estrangement GrandmaBatty, I’m so sorry to hear that.
These things happen for the strangest reasons and can come good again in the blink of an eye. I hope that’s the case for you.
Interesting read about Elizabeth Gaskell Ash. Thank you.
Wishing you all the best possible day
