It’s a chilly grey day and my mind went wandering.

What is the sexiest thing you remember? I think mine would be when Clint Eastwood climbed into the tub fully clothed plus cowboy hat with Shirley MacLaine.

Like I said nothing explicit but blimey🤭.

What would your blimey moment be?

The film "Witness" is powerful because it's so emotionally tense - full of conflicting feelings.
The scene where John Book is repairing his car in the barn and it leads to him dancing with Rachel is both sexually very tense and also warm and kind. Not even a kiss.

I was going to post a link but realised it really needs to be seen in context to read so powerfully.

Some of these highly charged moments need the "backstory" and emotional build up to be truly powerful. It's often the things around them that give them meaning.

On a different note I do so love the barn-raising music in that same film.
I'll post a link to that I think.

I also found Alan Rickman incredibly sexy .
And so is Bill Nighy .

There's a queue, Esmay.
And I'm at the front😉

Colin Firth’s Darcy, emerging from the lake does nothing really for me to be honest. 🤷‍♀️

Aveline Tue 21-Nov-23 10:27:03

No you're not. I said Alan Rickman first!

Grandma70s Tue 21-Nov-23 10:39:37

Not many of you will have seen this, but for me it was Rudolf Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn in Marguerite and Armand.

AreWeThereYet Tue 21-Nov-23 10:40:28

I always thought I was odd thinking Alan Rickman was dead sexy - he's not exactly good looking as such. Now I realise I'm just a bit actor in the crowd 😪

Agree totally with Daniel Day Lewis and Madeleine Stowe - one of my favourite films. I could watch it over and over just for the scenery and music.

Oh, Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis - the scene in Witness in the shed with the old car. Nothing happened, but the tension between the characters - Wow!

Also, I was standing on the platform at a railway station years ago. There was a man standing next to me - tall, dark-haired - with his sleeves rolled up his arm. And it was the sight of his bare forearm which made me feel all hot and bothered. Just a forearm - never forgotten it.

Cabowich Tue 21-Nov-23 10:47:39

Oh, I've just read your post NotSpaghetti - so you got the Witness scene, too? Great, wasn't it.

I beat you by 30 minutes Aveline, yesterday 20.08.🤣
The Alan Rickman queue is very serious!

Aldom Tue 21-Nov-23 10:59:46

Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard, Brief Encounter.
Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep, The Bridges of Madison County.
Unforgettable.

Aveline Tue 21-Nov-23 11:07:10

Dammit Granmarie. Well I'm second in the queue then.

paddyann54 Tue 21-Nov-23 11:08:10

Omar Sharif in Doctor Zhivago ..or Robert Redford in his white uniform ,half asleep at the bar in The Way We Were .Neither is mt "type" in real life but certainly made my hormones jump .lol

Sparklefizz Tue 21-Nov-23 11:55:47

Clint Eastwood standing in the rain in The Bridges of Madison County when his love affair is over.... but context is needed.

Sparklefizz Tue 21-Nov-23 11:56:29

Sorry, Aldom I see you've just mentioned Clint too.

Robert Redford in "Out of Africa and Brad Pit in 'A River Runs Through It" when he does the tango with an Indian girl.
I agree with a lot that has been mentioned. a wet Colin Firth will always be Mr Darcy.

BlueSapphire Tue 21-Nov-23 12:48:04

Oh yes MerylStreep, Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway in that chess scene.... And also anything with David Hemmings or Alan Rickman in it.
I have Sir Ranulph Fiennes' autobiography, and wow, the photos of him when he was a dashing young Army Officer - I go weak at the knees just looking at them...

Millie22 Tue 21-Nov-23 13:43:49

Aidan Turner for me in Poldark when he was in the bath tub and Demelza was sponging his back 🛁

Alan Rickman no not really but he was so good as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Chestnut Tue 21-Nov-23 13:57:49

Warren Beatty in Shampoo was pretty special. 😍

Then of course the moment when he exchanged that last look of love with Faye Dunaway in Bonnie and Clyde just before they were drilled with bullets.

kittylester Tue 21-Nov-23 14:04:50

Rufus Sewell - just that really.

LucyLocket55 Tue 21-Nov-23 14:16:47
