‘Evening All’.

We are back home from our ‘date night’. Lovely meal. We chose differently. - one of the great pleasures about eating out isn’t it? Himself chose monkfish with chilli flakes, mussels and spaghetti while I went for beef stroganoff and rice. Alcohol free lager for us both. It’s not half bad either! Just so nice to be out with my darling man when he is well enough.

I can sense your joy at your ‘steps’ achievement Blossoming! Upwards and onwards. Well done you!

annsixty congratulations on the safe arrival of your baby great granddaughter. A special time for a family to have four generations to share in memories. My late mum was so very loving towards our Boy Wonder and L’il Miss. “The world is a nicer place with you in it” she whispered as she held each baby in her arms for the first time. I watched on with love and gratitude . Our small family group were indeed blessed to witness their relationship. I wish the same for you all.

And Baggs you are often in my thoughts these days. As a mum I can tell you how much I admire your fortitude. You are having to go through what all of us here would most fear. Sadly I have no faith of my own so I cannot offer prayers, only my sincere sympathy for your torment. In spades.

Dear Baggs my heart goes out to you and your family. Rosie’sMaw put it so well. Ann and I are so lucky. Congratulations on the safe arrival of Grace Joan (2 names used in our family!)
DD is now on the list for a C section on Monday afternoon but … she has another appointment early tomorrow to check Bp and baby’s movements, so it may change again. We sit by the phone, bags packed! I have been madly knitting hats and mittens since it’s so cold but 15C is forecast for next week! 🤣

‘Evening All’.

Like many on here I am mindful this evening that Baggs BTDD will have been discharged from The Christie sometime today to a hospital bed in her home.

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. Hoping that MrSoop's poor head can be treated promptly and effectively. 🥰

Thinking of Baggs' precious girl, and all who love her and care for her. May they be blessed with the strength to support her, and one another, in the days ahead. Love and prayers, 💕🙏🕯

Many congratulations, Annsixty, a very special welcome to baby Grace Joan!

Not long now, Nannytopsy. Wishing your DD a safe and speedy delivery.

A very quick visit, MrB and I have had a wonderful evening chez nous. Homemade burgers made with finest Aberdeen Angus steak in wholemeal rolls then watching Godfather 1 and 2. Will catch up tomorrow (when we eventually surface).

Just a wee visit to send love to you and your lovely daughter, Baggs. There are no words that can convey true feelings at a time like this, only to say I’m thinking of you and all of your family.

soop Sat 20-Jan-24 14:30:51

greenmossgiel Your eloquent message to our Baggs echoes the thoughts of we Kitcheners.

Mr Soop has had the scalp lesions cleaned and dressed. He is start using a powerful cream nest week. This will be an ongoing treatment as the lesions are here to stay.

My sixty year old younger sister has shared some wonderful news with family and friends. After surgery to remove part of her duodenum and pancreas followed by twelve sessions of gruelling chemo, her latest scan was "all clear". She is a tough cookie, even the oncologist said so. grin

Very best wishes to every one of you lovely lot. I shall now pedal to no place for thirty minutes. This session I shall listen to The Platters. Gentle, melodic and most definitely not a shouty accompaniment to the pedal pushing.

Wonderful news from your sister Soop and I do hope the new cream helps MrSoop.

Glad you’re enjoying a lovely family weekend Yia.

MrB and I had a long and lazy lie in, I have folded and put the clean clothes away but very little else! I think it may be an early night for us!

Jaxjacky Sat 20-Jan-24 18:57:19

Hectic but wonderful Yia.
Great news from your sister soop not so your Mr, it seems never ending, he’s very stalwart.
A still chill day, but not freezing, my walk was pleasant, the wind is getting up though.
Saturday paper thoroughly read, my freezer dive for dinner produced beef casserole, that’ll do.
I hope brook is enjoying her warm holiday.

Blossoming Sat 20-Jan-24 19:05:12

I’m not expecting to hear anything from Baggs for some time, but I hope that her daughter is now home and Baggs has arrived safely.

If you are reading this Baggs sending love to you and all your family ❤️

brook2704 Sat 20-Jan-24 20:40:24

Thank you Jax we’re having a good time exploring new areas and getting used to a slower pace of life. DH is enjoying his rest from work although we’ve done lots of walking everyday. We’re getting used to the local coffees most afternoons or barraquitos as they’re known then dinner somewhere different in the evenings. Although tonight we’re eating in the apartment with our weary feet up!
Such good news from your sister soop such a brave lady
baggs always thinking of you and your DD and family ❤️
Take care all and enjoy your evening

SueDonim Sat 20-Jan-24 20:45:27

Sending loving wishes to you and your family, Baggs. I wish I had more to offer. flowers

Just popping in to say I’m keeping up with the Kitchen when I can and I think of you all. Sue. Xxx

‘Evening All’.

Blossoming I think Baggs said she was planning to travel down to spend time with her daughter next week. I think so anyway, but of course I might be wrong.

I feel sad for everyone in this boat tonight. We cling on to our hopes. It’s draining and frightening in equal measure.

Hi friends, the head cold I thought I had beaten has returned with an additional cough.

Thinking of Baggs

Grannmarie Sat 20-Jan-24 22:11:21

A late good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. I'm so glad to hear of your dear sister's wonderful news, Soop, and I hope MrSoop's new cream is helpful.

A happy and hectic family weekend, YiaYia, lovely for you and DH to see your three sons.

Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend, Blossoming. Enjoy!

Your holiday sounds ideal, brook, fresh air, sunshine, walking, nice meals...have a great time!

Hope you're doing OK, SueD, be gentle with yourself.

Dear Urms, thinking of you and your dear man. You keep hoping and I'll keep praying.🙏

Grannygravy, I hope your cough, MrYiaYia's and Urms's, are short lived and not of the 100 day variety. 🤞

Thoughts and prayers as always with our Baggs, her lovely daughter and all the family. 🕯🙏💕

We had a nice visit from the Wee Boy and his Mummy and Daddy. The three of them have birthdays soon, so I was asking for some gift ideas. It's hard to think, so soon after Christmas.

I'm still working on DS3's 40th birthday photo book, I may be some time...🤣

Wishing everyone a peaceful Saturday night, TOYA, NNGB.

Hello kitchen people. There is so much sadness and despair in here and I am thinking of you all.
I had a good time at a Study Day in Oxford on Victorian Art and Literature. Excellent lecturers and a delicious lunch. When I got back home I wrapped up OH’s birthday presents and finished off the Barmbrack I started making last night.
Sleep tight.
