Just got congratulated for being able to use my debit card!
Welcome, dear Kitcheners. Enjoy the new kitchen and, once again, thank you all for helping to make it a very special place.
and a huge group hug.
Lovely, more good baby news! Congratulations Nannytopsy & all your family on the safe arrival of your new baby girl. x
Of course she is Ann! 😍
Congratulations*Nannytopsy*🤱Stay safe everyone.
Wonderful news Nannytopsy, congratulations to you and your family.
Nannytopsy congratulations to all the family. Babies are wonderful. X
A very big congratulations nannytopsy such lovely news for you and your family 🩷
Hoping everyone is doing ok in the awful stormy weather just now, I’m getting regular updates from DDs.
Thanks grandmabatty we’re definitely enjoying the sunshine and the warmth. So good to escape Inverness winter weather, today was a gorgeous sunny day abut 22º here. I’ve been feeling quite happy that I’ve been able to get by in the bars and cafes with my basic Spanish but it was so funny today when I was ordering lunch and the waiter said ‘ really appreciate your efforts in Spanish luv’ in the broadest cockney accent ever! 🤦♀️
I know lots of kitcheners are struggling just now with illnesses, family problems and day to day challenges so I don’t want to be insensitive with lots of holiday ramblings, take care all x
Safe journey tomorrow, Soop, hope all goes well.
Many congratulations on the safe arrival of your lovely baby granddaughter, Nannytopsy, wonderful news!
How lovely that you have had a visit from Grace Joan already, Annsixty, enjoy your cuddles.
Enjoy the rest of your holidays, brook, soak up that sunshine 'cos its in short supply at home!
We've had high winds, heavy rain and even some snow today. My neighbour's fence has blown down but we've got off lightly compared to those with floods and no power. Hoping everyone is safe and warm tonight.
Grandmabatty, I'm sorry to hear that your DGS1 is not well, poor wee man, I hope he picks up soon.
Jaxjacky, I hope your DH feels better soon.
Love and prayers to Baggs, Urms and loved ones.💕🙏🕯
DS1 came in after work with some photos to add to the collection for his brother's birthday photo book. He stayed for dinner, (beef olives, mash and veg) it's not often DH and I have him to ourselves, it was good to see him.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Monday night, TOYA, NNGB.
Hello kitchen people. Another baby girl. Wonderful!🐣
Quite an ordinary day today. Shopping, laundry and ironing. I made up the new spare room for this weekend when our daughter is coming to stay.
I felt exhausted by 9 pm so came to bed and read.
I am thinking of so many of you with difficulties. 🌹
Woop, woop a beautiful baby, congratulations Nannytopsy.
We’ve been at quiz tonight, MrJ is improving, no more sneezing, he didn’t come out for meat draw yesterday, that meant he was feeling rough. The voluntary phone line was busy today, sorted by 6:15, just the spreadsheet to update tomorrow.
Sounds bliss brook, don’t be dissuaded by the ‘locals’.
Safe journey tomorrow brook.
Many congratulations to you nannyt and of course to the new parents. A visit, how lovely ann.
Wishing you a safe trip and a positive outcome tomorrow soop.
We’re so fortunate, emerged from a noisy night with home and garden unscathed. After some shopping this morning I had a look at the sea front (from the car!), huge waves still pounding in. Unusual for here. People were battling against the wind trying to walk, too much for me.
Goodnight everyone. Sleep tight.
Just popping by to wish you all a good nights sleep and hopefully there won’t be a howling wind keeping you awake.
Brook I love hearing about people’s trips and holidays, it stops me moping. Nothing worse than a pity party for one.
Congratulations NannyTopsy. Welcome to the world little one.
I meant safe journey today to soop, it was late!
Once again attacked on another thread for expressing my view which seems to be very unpopular but to be called lacking in compassion is a hard pill for me to swallow.
I am obviously very at odds with others views.
I feel increasingly that GN is not for me, I am too old and out of touch.
I don’t understand this need to weaponise a different viewpoint and the assumption by some that there is only one possible opinion and that we must all share it. Please don’t be bullied, ann, you have as much right to your opinion as anyone. I try to understand why the young think as they do but occasionally challenge DGD1 to defend her views - which she does, and we agree to disagree.
Hope today's journey goes well for Mr&MrsSoop.
A nasty wet day here in East Anglia, winds due to rise later today. We were battered, but no damage in the last storm at the weekend.
annsixty & Nannytopsy, I trust that those lovely baby (great)/grand/daughters are progressing nicely.
Warm thoughts for you all, especially those with problems, ill health & extra worries just now.
Good afternoon kitcheners. Sshhh! Both boys are sleeping 🤞🤞🤞. Dgs1 is still quite poorly but is well enough to annoy his brother. No tears today though, so that's an improvement. Dgs2 has only had one little tantrum which I ignored. He's been very cuddly and mainly sunny natured. I'm taking the (peaceful) opportunity to sit and scroll. I even had time to bake wee cakes this morning. Dgs2 has had two. The weather here is horrible and wet so we wouldn't have gone far anyway. Annsixty pay no heed to the wagging fingers. Having different opinions is what adds flavour. Brook the 'Spanish' waiter story made me laugh!
I hope storm Jocelyn passes us all by. Take care everyone
annsixty don’t listen to them. Just enjoy your new family member. Some posters always want to complain about others.
Good afternoon all, still foul weather here, no outings for me as I’m snuggled up warm and dry.
AnnSixty there is always a warm welcome for you in the kitchen. Please ignore the naysayers and enjoy your new greatgranddaughter.
I am so very sorry to see the latest news from Urmstongran in the Good Morning thread. I hope she new treatment can start soon and hope it helps. Sending love and best wishes.
Wet here all day too Blossoming I went to the local butchers and thought about a walk, then thought better.
MrJ is much improved and off to bowls later.
I hope the soops got on alright today.
ann I’m afraid some people just aren’t very pleasant, you’re worth more than them, don’t forget.
I too was very sorry to hear the news from Urms this morning and am hopeful for the new treatment x
Hello Kitcheners.Your one of us Ann just stay here.🌻
Do hope your DGS is starting to feel bette Grandmabatty,so many bugs and viruses around.DH is still coughing! and now on medication for sinuses.
It was lovely to have all the family together at the weekend and hear all the plans for the wedding in August.A small ceremony followed by a family lunch ,and a party in the evening, sounds ideal.
Hope your journey went well Soop.
Thinking of all with problems and challenges especially Urms. 🌹
Hello kitchen people.
I hope the Soops are having a good day.
I had a housework day - OH will do the hoovering tomorrow.
I’m on the sofa now, curled up with Ripley the cat who is purring like a lawnmower.
OH will cook a fry up for dinner and then we’re both going out but to different venues.
I am pleased to say that my non-memory mattress is brilliant. I really wish I’d changed the old one years ago.
I’m thinking of those in the kitchen who are having such a dreadful time. At the same it is wonderful to hear news of great grandchildren! I doubt I will ever experience that - I’m 70 and my only grandchild is 7!
Have a good evening. There’s some Barmbrack on the dining table. It is perfect with a slab of cold butter on top.
Ann... You are not too old or out of touch to be here with us. I've read many posts on other threads written by GN's who seem to take great delight in berating and belittling people and are well known for it. For that reason I don't post anywhere but here where I feel safe. Urms started an interesting thread recently which I really would have liked to comment on but the more I read the more I decided not to. It was with trepidation that I crept in here only to be welcomed with open arms....so stay here safe with us...on here all views and posts are valued and acceptance of our different personalities is a given and cherished.
Ps. what is it they say...Don't let the b.....s grind you down.
‘Evening All’.
I feel very emotional today. This whole experience is a rollercoaster. I’d like to step off it to be honest. Many here will empathise with that feeling. Thank you lovely kitcheners for all your caring vibes, prayers and good wishes. This is without doubt the hardest thing I’ve ever been called to deal with.
A mug of Horlicks soon. Then oblivion for a while in my safe space.
