Welcome to the world, little Grace Joan! And, thank you, ann for your kind thought of offering me a bed had you been able to. It is appreciated.

Forgot, apologies, ann glorious names for your great granddaughter, what a treasure.

Ouch neine and well done Blossoming one small step, but achieved ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
Cold here too, a brisk 15 minute walk was enough for me, itโ€™s hopefully the last sooo freezing day, up to +4 tomorrow! We collected a second hand PS 4 for my daughter to give our grandson for his birthday next week.
Not much else done really, a bit tedious this weather.

Good evening Kitcheners. Another day of brilliant sunshine, freezing temperatures and icy footpaths. I have exercised doing laundry for stretching and muscle strength and got my step count going up and down stairs. I have achieved a small triumph today, I have always found going downstairs more difficult than upstairs. I had to put my right foot down onto the next step and then put my left foot down next to my right, so I took longer to get down. For the last few weeks I have been trying to put my right foot down to the next step and my left foot down to the one after that. Like what the normal people do grin. Today I have been able to do this with no problem. I have had to really analyse what the right foot does differently to the dodgy left foot and try to copy it. Iโ€™m well chuffed and may have a celebratory hot chocolate later! It really is a case of building up muscle memory by repetition. I learned a lot from my lovely neurophysio therapist, if only the vertigo could be fixed too!

Enjoy your cycling Soop, I find it helpful.

Neine that sounds so painful, hope itโ€™s better soon.

Stay safe and warm, and safe travels to all out and about.

Goodnight all, TOYA โค๏ธ

AnnSixty congratulations on the safe arrival of Grace Joan - a lovely name for a lovely baby

I rollercoastered from the excitement of Ann60's wonderful news to the sadness of Baggs and her darling daughter. What a special place this is that we share the joys and sorrows in equal measure.
Welcome to the world Grace Joan...may you have health, wealth and happiness in abundance.
Baggs...you and your daughter and family were up most in my prayers at Mass this morning. There is nothing practical we Grans can do but I hope knowing how much we care and send out love and support brings you a small measure of comfort
I nearly didn't make it to church.. Having got up and all being fine I sat down to put my make up on and just like that my back had given out. I am not allowed to bend and twist at the same time due to the pins from my back to my pelvis and I can't recall doing so....but I must have done. Getting dressed was a challenge to say the least. I've just taken 2 of the heavy duty painkillers so hopefully they will take the edge off it soon and I'll stop sounding like I have Tourettes every couple of minutes...( Not the swearing...just the involuntary noises when I move...ooooeeeerrre etc).
Can I come to tea GrandmaB? That bake up day sounds lush.
Soop... I've winced again for Mr Soops head. I hope they can sort it out and soon.
Love to all you other Grans ...I think the tablets are taking effect so will sign off for now.

Annsixty a lovely name for a lovely bairn. Soop ๐Ÿ’ for Mr Soop and you too.
Today I made wholemeal bread, scones, a victoria sponge and double chocolate muffins. Everything worked well apart from the sponge which didn't rise. I'll make peanut butter cookies in a while and then my tins are full

RosesMaw, I am sending a special hug for you. smile

Mr Soop had his scalp photographed in the GP's surgery when he visited yesterday. One lesion is a cause for concern.

There was a light covering of powdery snow earlier today. All gone. We placed the birds' crushed digestive biscuits on a tray. When they appeared to be a trifle confused, the tray was returned to the kitchen. From thereon they enjoyed their mid morning treat in the usual fashion. wink

I am about to peddle the exercise bike for the second thirty minute session. A total of an hour each day could/should help to strengthen my leg muscles. I live in hope.
