Hi everybody this forum was suggested to me by a very dear friend who a grandmother herself has told me that brilliant advice opinions and chat is often expressed however I am not a Grandmother but a 62 year old Grandfather to my daughters dogs. Is this site exclusively for Grandmothers, if so I will not intrude any more.

Many many of here us on here have much loved dogs, I’m a granny to one human and three mini Daxies, who are currently snuggled up next to me whilst Mummy is at school (teacher). I am also Mum to 4 adult children, 1 wonderful step-daughter and 1 extremely naughty cocker spaniel.

Hi there I jumped in at 62 had children later last one at 40. I work with the elderly 60’s- 100. O don’t expect to have grandkids anytime soon or maybe at all.
There is many folks over 50 single Aunts , Uncles, and no grandchildren parents over 50. This sight appeals to me because there is true wisdom given in a forum that’s not looking to date someone or make connections like an app . A great source of camaraderie for over 50 looking for opinions , advice, life events, without the “ ick” factor - just good wholesome thoughts n opinions with a side of humor more like Erma bombeck think Grass is greener over the septic tank in a new world order of technology and hmmmmmm equality?
Glad I found this forum. Working in assisted living gives you a whole new set of eyes. I need a comedy night .

Grandad2 you are more than welcome, it's nice to get a different perspective on things.

I haven’t changed my mind on this one (although listening to views on GN does change my mind on some things).

Men and women are both people, and there is no reason why a ‘male perspective’ should differ from a female one. I welcome men on here, but lose interest when they bang on about their maleness as though it matters.

Mention it in the interests of disclosure, or just out of interest, but as far as I’m concerned being male won’t buy any special treatment grin

This is a pretty old thread and I haven’t seen the OP on here since 2023.
