I Resolve……

1. To drink more water.

2. To try and be more productive with my time, i.e. not spend so much time browsing Gransnet etc.

3. To try and not fret about things that probably don’t really matter.

4. To just be a nicer person. Not to snap at DH if he annoys me about something. To think more before I speak. To smile more and be grateful for my many blessings.

This could be my list😂

SueDonim Mon 01-Jan-24 12:56:10

…to make no resolutions. grin

This could also be my list, apart from having a husband.

Glad to know I am not the only dried up, lazy, anxiety filled, snappy old woman.

The last resolution I made was at New year 1989. It was to be nice in the 90s. Thirty years on I still haven't managed. Oh well.

3 out of 4 could be my resolutions

Casdon Mon 01-Jan-24 13:47:30

I’ve made one, that’s all. Every day I’m at home I’m going to do one thing to replace, restore, improve or repair something. I’ve started today by using restoration oil on an old bentwood chair that came from my grandmother’s house and had been in the garage for a long time. It looks lovely, the oil has made a massive difference.

Every year I make the same resolution. I resolve to always have fresh flowers un the hall (other places too but the hall especially) I have managed to keep it for the last 20 years.

What a brilliant resolution kitty. I love fresh flowers. I've decided not to make resolutions any more - life is too full of ups and downs as we get older, so just to go with the flow, gracefully, will have to do! smile

Aveline, that made me laugh!

Mine is to take no 's@it'. Already started!

Happy 2024 everyone.

My resolve? Not to make any new year resolutions until well into February.

Juliet27 Mon 01-Jan-24 16:21:30

Great resolutions Calendargirl. I should follow all of those!

Gwyllt Mon 01-Jan-24 17:16:29

I don’t make resolutions either
Perhaps we should all make the resolution to aim to be here this time next year

Bluemini62 Tue 02-Jan-24 11:44:14

My New Year's resolutions are to have more tea and cake , music and laughter !

JdotJ Tue 02-Jan-24 11:49:45

Oh gosh. I could have written the exact same things

25Avalon Tue 02-Jan-24 12:00:36

To write in my journal of personal memories every day before I go to bed - even if it’s only one word grin

Alie2Oxon Tue 02-Jan-24 12:10:08

Already started on this one.
I resolve to go on decluttering my house....!

...and to keep better contact with people around me.

Rainwashed Tue 02-Jan-24 12:27:12

Those are mine too “Alie2Oxon”

Desiree1153 Tue 02-Jan-24 12:28:47

I made the resolution to lose weight. I have actually been told by a nurse I need to shed some. I already failed yesterday as we still have loads of Christmas sweets so today we start again. I also have made the resolution to budget (even bought a money journal) and was given a manifestation book so have decided to use it as a journal and write in it every day. Let’s see how many I’m still keeping next month. Wish me luck.

Nannan2 Tue 02-Jan-24 12:50:54

Ive stopped making them that way i cant feel ive let myself down if they get broken.😄Where do you buy the restoration oil please Casdon??

Fairycakes Tue 02-Jan-24 12:51:28

I Would like to declutter and get the house in order, following a terrible year of poor health. I want to get back on my healthy diet, which has slipped since poor health, and I want to get back to exercising and getting out and about more. I want to cut down on the Internet and WhatsApp and use my time more wisely, for things that will actually make a difference in my life. It's probably a tall order but I'm feeling hopeful 😄. 2024 - here I come! 🎉🎉🎉

Maru Tue 02-Jan-24 12:52:37

And mine 🤣

Ilovedragonflies Tue 02-Jan-24 13:00:15

Mine is to stop buying sweets (as I have a very sweet tooth!) once the Christmas chocs etc are gone, that is (and that should be just in time for Easter - I received loads for Christmas).

So no, no resolutions for me!

WHAud Tue 02-Jan-24 13:46:49

Same one every year here - to not start smoking. Succeeded every year so far 😁

Susieq62 Tue 02-Jan-24 13:57:11

I have re-assessed my life for 2024 ! Easier than making resolutions 👍👍
