Good morning from a wet and windy Bristol.
Glad your journey went well, Ash, and to see you back, pant. I’ve been up/awake and drinking my own chamberpot since 430.
Yesyersy was exhausting. We arrived a IKEA just after opening, yet it was heaving with mostly young couples and toddlers. Mercifully, there was no screaming or tantrums.
DD and I spent a couple of hours planning furniture, checking measurements for me to order online. She got various bits for her newly painted hallway, to which I added a rather nice pot stand and two plants - I later gave her one of my own Begonia rex.
Back to the vicarage for lunch, where we also assembled and put up the stuff she had bought. The plant stand looks lovely.
We then went off to town to Mrs. Potts, the chocolate cafe. It was very pleasant, very busy, but a bit disappointing. I had been led to believe that it would be awash with chocolaty foods and drinks…. There were two chocolate cakes and about three types of brownie/cookie, and various hot chocs, teas, etc. itwas nice though.
I was exhausted and my back was very painful - one of the extremely rare times I wished I had a bath.
Once home, I ordered the many items of furniture I wanted, to replace my make-do stuff, to empty my spare room, etc. It was not cheap, but then I can’t remember the last time I bought any furniture.
Today, I had wanted to go to town, but I think it’s going to be too wet.
Carpe diem, dear virtual friends. 🦩🦩🦩🦩
