Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
My Patisserie course was fun yesterday. Elder son gave me a voucher for it for my 70th,
Waitrose shop this morning and I’ve got a bag of stuff for the charity shop.
This afternoon it is my neighbour’s monthly craft afternoon. I’m not sure what we’re doing but it’s always good to see everyone.

Good morning Mick and all my friends, sorry I didn’t see your post today Mick I’ve added mine on to yesterdays post. It’s freezing cold here on the east coast of Fife and I had a wonderful day yesterday. I went to church, then on to one of my local golf clubs for a Sunday roast beef dinner. I had a great sleep last night I was sooooo tired. I’m busy today again.

DGS stayed for his sleepover so we’ve got the school run, then I’m off to the gym for a couple of classes and finally lunch and a long catch up with my friend this afternoon.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I've just put the bin out bucket as we say here the first time since before Christmas. I cannot cope with the Holiday service. I don't have a lot of rubbish now it's only me.
It's dark wet and dreich.
Yesterday was sunny and icy. It was a busy Sunday. I joined the Taizé singing group in the afternoon. It was freezing in the church but a lovely country drive there with friends and these 2 lads in the field..
Today I have a U3A group and a committee meeting this evening. Back to the routines.

Good morning from a dark and cold Suffolk. I’m appreciating the lighter afternoons but am sure that extra dark time has been added on to the mornings!

Dental appt at 9.20 about 35mins away so must get a move on. Hoping it’s just a check up with no treatment needed after the cost of the replacement filling I had about a month ago. Well it was an emergency appointment and it was what they do now,so the dentist said,often instead of a crown,but with no estimate before,I nearly fell over when the receptionist calmly told me the bill.

What a beautiful cake. Several talented daughters on here with their baking skills. Mine extended only to the Cadbury’s ‘ Harriet the Hedgehog’ birthday cake or ones involving lots of Smarties’.

Hoping for a good day for all,especially those with worries.

Morning all from 0 but no frost in S Hants, back on the voluntary phone today after a break, there’s a full laundry basket to tackle as well.
We’re forecast snow showers, quiz will be chilly tonight in our draughty old pub.

Housework today and a dog walk, she had a lovely red coat for Christmas and she will definitely need it this morning.

Good morning from a damp NE, I could hear the rain during the night.
I watched quite a lot of TV yesterday while doing crosswords but was annoyed to find that Vera had not recorded. I always record itv so that I can fast forward the adverts.
Nothing planned for today except maybe run the hoover around downstairs and then read my novel.
DD is returning to Brussels today, she will work there for a couple of weeks and then she is off to America.

Good morning Mick and everyone from gloomy foggy Carlisle where it is currently -1°C.
I'll be happier tackling the housework and laundry today rather than sticking my nose outside.
I did go for a stroll yesterday, into the country park where I was rather wary of some still frosted paths. The big pond, more a lake, was full of birds- moorhens, tufted ducks, coots, swans and the ubiquitous and noisy mallards. The water was partly frozen and, off the paths, the ground very muddy. It got to feel very raw and cold so I was glad to get home for a hot drink. Good to have got out though.

Superb cake, Bellasnana, what a shame to cut into it though I'd like to have tasted the inside! All these clever cake makers put me to shame...

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s bright,dry and 2 degrees brrr.

Yesterday after lunch we settled down with a cuppa to relax when we heard a certain knock at the door. It was DS and the GC. Bless them they’d brought me some tulips. It was a lovely surprise.
Today I’m going through the Christmas stuff and my clothes for a trip to a charity shop. Then I have a hair appointment and a catch up with my dad.

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s dry and cold.

A quiet day today after our busy weekend with the children.

DD and SIL brought lunch when they came to collect the children.She also brought me a pair of tap shoes.Inspired by BlueSapphire I am starting a tap dancing class on Friday.

I hope today isn’t too tiring for Grandmabatty and Bellasnanna.After eight years of childcare we now do one or two school pick ups a week and sleepovers at the weekend although not every weekend.Today I woke up at 8.45.I said to DH how did we get up at 4.45 every Monday and drive 60 miles to look after DGS.I think it would take us the rest of the week to recover now!

My thoughts are with Baggs, her DD and family🙏🏻

No frost though it feels cold enough and a sunny morning makes a good start to the week. Like most of you, normal life is starting again with a book group this afternoon and singing on Wednesday plus one or two social activities after what feels a bit like Christmas hibernation. Could do without various aches and pains but will see how the day turns out before doing battle with the surgery if I decide I need an appointment.

DH has a download today from his ICD, and he needs to call drs for a review of his medication.
I might have a tidy up in garden if it stays dry its looking a bit of a mess after all the wind and rain, still waiting on neighbours to replace fence 4 panels now missing and everything from their garden keeps blowing into ours they are not gardeners and use it as a dumping ground a mattress and various bags and boxes are outside.

Coffee with a friend this morning, then babysitting DGS2 this afternoon. I’ve a card to send, so we’ll walk to the postbox. A door wreath to drop off with DD1 on my way home later.

Good morning from Severnside. It’s a chilly one for sure.

I’ve already been out to the mail box and popped to my local hospital to see if they still do audiology there.

The panto on Saturday was great fun and I’ll say probably the best one I’ve seen. In the past I’ve often got teary coming back down the M5 from Cheltenham in the dark because it reminds me of the night DH died. I was ok on Saturday.

Good morning from a damp and a bit chilly Cheshire. But it’s not raining so I am not complaining. Still getting over a head cold which has hopefully not progressed to anything more serious. I just don’t want this cough that everyone seems to be getting.
Jobs day today - bit of shopping, need to return some items to John Lewis and then this afternoon I will watch another episode of the new Netflix series Fool me once. I’d thoroughly recommend it if you have Netflix.
Will be nice to have the roads and shops a bit quieter during the day with most people back at work and the children back at school - perk of retirement! Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning all from a dull icy Central Scotland. It does however look as if it may brighten up a bit. Is everyone getting back to normal whatever that is? A trip to Bridge of Allan calls today just for a few odds and ends but mainly to get my steps up! Over the holidays I fear I have been too lazy and made myself too comfy at home. I must make more effort, not a New Year resolution just a plain fact. As you may have gathered I am not an early bird but pop in each day to catch up with all your news. Have the best day you can.
