Good morning Mick and all. I'm back on the Angus coast again (bright, very frosty and still, and 2°) after a perfect sojourn in the Lake District celebrating DD's 50th Birthday. The cake was baked and decorated by 18yo DD3 - and was every bit as delicious as it was beautiful - and the weather as perfect as you could every hope for. (Photo to prove the point!). The merged families work so well, and the 'other halves' fit in perfectly too - it was a joy spending time with nine such wonderful teenagers. We stayed in a large barn conversion which accommodated the 13 of us with spacious ease (could have slept 16, so room to spare). And everyone (even me!) took part in a gloriously muddy stomp to the beach at St Bees and a shorter, slightly less muddy one beside Derwentwater. It has taken me 35 minutes to write the above as I keep pausing to relive it all - I think I shall bask in the memories for the rest of my life!
Bellasnonna I take my hat off to you! Like Grandmabatty does, I used to look after DDs 1 and 3 two days a week and loved it - but two days was long enough! And that is a beautiful cake your DD has made!
I can feel the warmth coming off those photos Grannygravy - enjoy your holiday.
Love the sound of your family mezuna, and enjoy the beach at Perranporth.
Today, once I have descended from Cloud 9 😉, I have a gynae appointment - a very long overdue follow-up to a pre-Covid procedure - but other than that and a quick foray into town for milk and potatoes I shall be doing nothing as I am all actived out!
Enjoy your day everyone, and if your heart is heavy may you find comfort and peace x
