Burnham to tell schools in England to adapt teaching to local business needs- what do you think?
What's the worst sandwich filling?
I've treated myself to a couple of little things that were on my Christmas list, but which no one had bought for me.
The first was the Harvest teapot by Mark's and Spencer's, which Musicgirl posted on my thread 'Does anyone else have a passion for Teapots?' I do have a passion for teapots and fell in love with it when I saw it in the photo🤗. And she's right - it does make a super cup of tea!
Then when I put up a thread: 'I'm thinking of buying a yarn bowl', Greyduster mentioned a beehive shaped yarn holder that her mother used to use. Intruiged, I set off on a journey of discovery and found them selling on ebay. They were made of bakelite. I liked the look of it and wondered who might have used it all those years ago 🤔. I showed it to hubby, who likes anything vintage and without my knowing, he bought it for me. What a lovely surprise.
Finally, I treated myself to a tension yarn ring, which I had only just learnt about. So I've been having great fun with the yarn holder and tension ring. The tension ring takes the hard work out of crocheting. No more cramped fingers. And my cat can't tamper with the wool 😄🙀.
So have you, or anyone else, treated you since Christmas?

I got some woolly boots in Aldi, a pretty pair of earrings, I ly cheap but pretty, some pink hair colour, a mask rather than actual dye, just to see what it looks like, I'm thinking it will be subtle on the grey. And a telescopic handled duster again from Aldi. And from the charity shop a couple of vintage detective books, and from the library a new jigsaw for 50p, 2 500 piece ones, last couple I've done have been difficult 1000 ones and fancied something a bit easier.
I do a bit before bedtime some evenings, it is quite meditative. And some lychees, also from Aldi in their fruit offers!
Am considering whether to get a single portion ice cream maker from Lakeland, at the moment I can't have the commercial ice cream and it would be nice to make some healthy frozen plain yoghurt with berries in the summer
The pink hair sounds like fun, oodles 😁👍
Yes; I had a 90 minute massage on the 4th of January. Heaven!
Had a mini shopping spree earlier this week - two coats, polo neck, fleecy leggings, leather gloves and a necklace. Coats were in a sale and gloves bought with a gift voucher. Going on another wee trip tomorrow (underwear?) Live fairly frugally but enjoy treating myself. Have provided for my family and can afford it. Have decided that if I want to buy a bunch of flowers, a bottle of wine, another new coat, etc then why not?

Absolutely agree! Who knows how long we have left? No point being so frugal that your life is devoid of little treats. The offspring will have the house as inheritance - I’ve decided it’s time to be good to myself, as nobody else is likely to do it!
Have today bought a heated mattress topper . Looking forward to trying it tonight .
I've gone a bit bonkers, a Seasalt tunic, a petite fitting dress from Roman both real bargains! Then found velvety fur lined leggings in Primark £7 a pair, so snug and comfortable i bought 4 pairs😀. I also found a big fleecy scarf/wrap for £4. I do love a bargain.
I bought an eternal beau coffee pot from Etsy I wanted one for AGES
New electric pressure cooker (due for delivery on Monday) because my previous one gave up the ghost a few days ago
Treated myself to a gorgeous, cosy, snuggly oodie in the sale, which will hopefully pay for itself as I ve switched the heating off!
I've bought some Sweaty Betty leggings for pilates. I used to have the Autumn Leaves version of your M&S teapot. However, I hate to disappoint you @fairycakes but it is actually a coffee pot!
FarTooYoungForThis haha! I wondered if it was. I kept asking family members if they thought it was a coffee pot and not a teapot, after all 🤭. So, you've answered my question. Thank you 😁. Now I shall have to learn how to make coffee on the stove to fill up the coffee pot

There were two sizes in the same shape - a large, heavy one, which is a ☕️ coffee pot, and a smaller, lighter one, which I have, that is definitely a teapot 🫖. They later changed to a rounder design. I have a teapot in this shape, too, and it makes just as good a cup of tea.
Thank you, Musicgirl. Now I'll be on the hunt for the teapot 🤣🤣🤣
Well I sincerely hope it goes better for you than it did for me, Auntieflo. DH went to collect my tote bag from our local Clarks today and came back empty-handed. Because they’d put it on display by mistake when it arrived there and sold it! They then told him (wrongly) that there are none available online now, but they’ll ring round and try to get one from another store. And in the meantime they’ve kept my money.
As you can guess, I’m not a happy bunny right now!
Maggiemaybe, when it arrives tell them they owe you a discount for all the trouble they have put you through 😤
I’m on it, Fairycakes. Well, I’ve contacted their customer services and suggested that at the very least we should get free delivery of the replacement to our home address instead of having to trek into town again to collect it…. To be honest it’s such a bargain I’ll just be happy if I do get a replacement.
Hope it goes well, Maggiemaybe. Enjoy your tote bag when it arrives 😊👍
Thank you.

I bought 3 pairs of those fur-lined leggings last winter, and I still love them.
On a very cold day, I wear a pair of them under my jeans when I go out for a walk, and they keep me soooo warm!
A bunch of rainbow tulips today. 🙂
Maggiemaybe, the saga of the bag continues. I went into town to collect mine today, and was first told that it hadn't arrived. Then the assistant found it, on the floor. When she unwrapped it, it was far larger than I had imagined, and also the handles/ straps, were not long enough to fit on my shoulder.
So I have rejected it, and will have a refund, back to my bank, in 7/10 days 😱.
Well, they take the money fast enough, but seem loathe to return it as speedily.
Hope that you get yours soon, and it is all you want.
