Snowdrops are waking up!

What a lovely name - I didn’t know that!
I saw some recently, in the grounds of Hampton Court. None close to home yet, but my bulbs (crocuses and narcissi, planted very late) are coming up.

And five bare root roses I planted in November, are showing their first new leaves.
Roll on spring!

One of the best things about this otherwise bleak time of year is seeing the bulbs coming up. How lovely to see snowdrops already. I didn't know they were known as Candlemass Bells.

We have 3 so far peeping up out of our lawn. Don’t know how they got there but they always appear at the foot of our oak tree. Very pretty.

I love that name. Ours are bursting through and its such a wonderful sight.

My snowdrops are not even in bud yet, but daffodils and even the leaves of my bluebells are poking through.

I haven't seen any snowdrops this year .
It's something to look forward to .
I love the name Candlemass -that's beautiful .
I'm thrilled that my 40 year old Camellia , Bowl of Beauty has brought forth lovely reddish pink petals surrounding a rich egg - yolk yellow centre
on Christmas Day and since .
It's the only Camellia in the garden that I don't prune .
It's remained at about five feet .
The other Camellias grow to twelve feet .
