Storm Isha……..are you ready?

We’ve just reached the flickering lights stage. Off to dig out candles just in case…

I’ve just put my phone on charge, just in case the electricity goes.

The winds are building here , the lights have flickered at least three times so we have the candles and lighter handy.
Next doors tree branches are nearly touching our gate. I just wish they would blow off instead of menacing us every time we or anyone else comes or goes. We have offered to go halves with having them removed since before the pandemic but they ignore us.

Just had one last pee with the dog, can now relax for the night. I love my wee, supported-living flat to bits but the one downside is that the gardens are a) communal and b) not secure, so if he were to decide that he needed out in the night, I couldn't just chuck him out, would have to get dressed and walk to the kerbside.

Safe indoors and can hear the gusts howling around the house. We have a very strong side gate and can hear it rattling. N Ireland.

We're currently driving home from the Hull area to the Midlands. Lots of warning signs on the motorway. Winds buffeting the car, heavy rain, but taking it steady.

Yes RosiesMaw I saw earlier on the news that Finnish aeroplane trying to land at Heathrow. Pretty scary!

I’m so glad it’s overnight (but thoughts with essential workers and obviously anyone who HAS to go out) but schoolchildren will be in bed for the very worst of this hopefully as it might be a bit calmer around 7am tomorrow. The powerful high winds are truly scary. Debris can wing you round the back of the head when least expected.

Pretty grim tonight here in Swindon. Took the canvas roof off the pergola as I thought it might end up sailing away as it looks like a sail! That would cause a lot of damage so just in case!

I am generally fed up of the rubbish everywhere 😭

We're not very near the sea although we can see it from the windows on one side. However, we're at the top of a hill.

The huge trees close to our back garden are making such a noise in the wind, it’s scary. Mr C suggest we turn the tv up! Heavy showers, wind is howling and the front door rattling. All we can do is sit it out. Stay safe everyone.

I was coming from Mass today with my friend after we had been for coffee at 1345
We were crossing the road on green when a huge gust started.My friend has a walking frame and I had to cling tight to it to stop it lifting up and blowing her over . The lights turned to red but fortunately the traffic stayed still for us then two young men helped us both get over the road safely.We thanked them profusely they replied by saying they hope someone does the same for their old nannas
I saw my friend into a taxi as she was not going to risk the walk from the bus to her house.
I am now hatched down at home can hear the wind whistling outside.

Help! We've sprung a leak. The wind is driving the rain straight at us and the water is finding gaps to sneak through. We have buckets strategically placed and the cats are in red alert. It's going to be a long, damp night ☹️

some tremendous gusts already, its going to be a long night. I heard a thud so have been out to put safe heavy weight on top of two large keter storage boxes. Just once a lid blew open, so it can happen. The weights are long sausage-shaped sacks full of gravel and have been so very useful over the years

For the last storm I put concrete slabs directly onto wooden benches, under the covers. Those benches had been lifting

It is absolutely frightening in West Yorkshire (Leeds). I am terrified the roof is going to fly off. I am sick of all these gales and all this rain.
