WELCOME! The buffet is ready and there is coffee, tea and wine for the sharing of. Make yourselves comfortable. I shall now have my lunch and join you later.

Sending sincere condolences at this sad and difficult time.
Good afternoon kitcheners. Two full on childcare days are over. The boys are so affectionate and full of cheek fun. I am tired so quietly pottering before I cook dinner. I wish you all a peaceful Tuesday evening
Cheeky was meant to be a score through. Tech failure yet again
Well done grandmabatty you definitely deserve a medal ! 🥇
Good afternoon all.
Late in the day for me, my life is still upside down and I am going to have a private G&T to calm down.
The younger GS still here after 4 weeks is 13 today so we are going out for a meal soon ,meeting up with his elder brother and his partner and my GGD.
The older one also here of course, and he, fight and argue, it seems non stop at times.
My S is meeting with SS again tomorrow to discuss progress as to the future.
I cannot wait for a resolution , they have been here 4 weeks now and for me it is not ideal that they are here.
A drastic move may be the only answer, I am hoping not.
I know my problem is small compared to some and I hope they are all being comforted.
Dear Baggs, RIP your lovely daughter and much love to you.

Hello kitchen people. I’m currently relaxing with Milo and Ripley on the sofa. Younger son is cooking lasagne for dinner and then OH and I are going out separately. I have an early start tomorrow. It is my stained glass course and hopefully I will be soldering everything. I’ve done this before with another stained glass piece but this time I will be soldering onto copper. At least the cut on my thumb has healed.
My brother in Australia is having serious heart surgery tomorrow so I’ll be thinking of him. He’s having it done in Sydney so my sister and one of his daughters are nearby. His other daughter lives in Melbourne and is expecting a baby daughter imminently!
Have a good evening.
Tricky waiting tomorrow llfl* I hope you hear good news swiftly.
Oh dear ann I do hope that’s a large g&t, a resolution to your current issue would be most welcome, you’re very stalwart.
It’s been a dreary wet day, my hair is trimmed, but I’m going to grow it a little longer. Quiet day on the voluntary phones yesterday, followed by a not too successful quiz, but enjoyable as always.
My daughter is having to wait until Friday to get her washing machine fixed, so she’s ‘visiting’ more often than usual 🙂.
Dear Baggs, thinking of you and yours and hoping that all these thoughtful posts may bring you a little comfort. I was particularly moved by GrandmaFrench's uplifting verse and by Soop's beautiful words of wisdom. 💕🙏🕯One day at a time...
Grandmabatty, I hope you have a restful day planned for tomorrow, you have certainly earned it! You are creating special memories with your wee boys. 💙💙
brook, your DGC must have missed you when you were away. They'll be enjoying their sleepovers again@😴😴
annsixty, I can't believe that's four weeks already, you are a saint! 😇 Charge up your mobility scooter and remove yourself from the situation for an hour each day, weather permitting. The wee break will do you good.
Wishing your dear brother safe and successful surgery, and a speedy recovery Ladyleftfieldlover. And a safe delivery to your neice!
Jaxjacky, your daughter is lucky to be near you! Enjoy your steaks.
DDiL 1's uncle was buried today, he was only 63, her Dad's youngest brother. Her poor Dad has lost his three brothers now, very sad.
I forgot all about pancakes today... maybe tomorrow... but it's Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting and abstinence. It'll be salmon for dinner then!
TOYA, NNGB.
I am back from my family meal out, it was quite successful.
The birthday boy enjoyed his evening in spite of nothing from his mother!!
We are relaxing now and my S and I are having a glass of wine.
annsixty 💐 so pleased you’ve all had a lovely evening and a very Happy 13th Birthday to your DGS 🎉🎂
He has had lovely presents including a new phone from his Dad and me, baseball shirts … his passion, exercise equipment from his elder brother and money from his other GP’s.
He is happy.
He has a very troubled life but we are falling over backwards to compensate.
Does it work? We may never know.
He will remember that you took him in and cared for him at a difficult time in his life, Annsixty.
Many years ago when we were children, an aunt, uncle and four cousins moved overseas for a new life. Things didn't go as planned and they came back, homeless and penniless. They were offered emergency housing by the council but it was so awful that my aunt almost had a breakdown. My Mum and Dad welcomed them into our home, which wasn't grand or spacious, but they stayed with us for many months while my uncle got work and they got back on their feet. Ten years ago at my dear Mum's funeral, these cousins remembered and talked about when we ''took them in', they were still so grateful to my parents.
Annsixty, your family will never forget your kindness. 💕
So sorry Baggs. I hope that you and your family find all the strength you need to support each other.
annsixty your DGS may have a troubled life but he obviously has you and others who care for him. Will it make a difference, I’m sure it will and tonight you made a young boy happy. I wish him happy birthday and hope things improve for you all.
Good afternoon to all our very special Kitcheners. You have eloquently shared your feelings of sadness with our lovely Baggs. Knowing her, she will have been comforted by your kindness.
I have neglected to spend time in our Kitchen because I was at a loss for words. The death of Baggs's beautiful daughter was an enormous shock, in spite of her prognosis.
Could we please have a virtual group hug?
Big hug soop. And very much needed. 💕
annsixty Bless you for your ongoing efforts to inject support and love into your young grandson's disrupted life. You are an amazing grannie. How many times have we said so.
Llfl It will be difficult to wait for your dear brother's surgery to be completed and know that he safe and recovering on the ward. I wish him well. It is good to have family close by.
I confess to having much catching up to do. In the meantime, welcome to many new Kitcheners. My love to every one of you lovely lot who are struggling with life's buggerations.
I am concerned for Neine.
Soop I’ll certainly join in the much needed group hug ❤️
I’m also hoping we hear from neine soon, and blossoming too, hope all is ok with both these special ladies 💐
I'm another fan of the group hug. Brook I have indeed had a restful day. I did clear out a drawer of assorted stuff and put it all in the bin, hoovered the living room and tidied the kitchen so I think that's enough for today. I didn't manage to visit mum but I'll go on Friday. Baked potato with cheese and beans for dinner later. I think Annsixty that you are a very kind person and it must be difficult housing so many of your family.
Enjoy your evening Kitcheners
I love a group hug🤗
Well kitchen people, I finished my stained glass lantern. We found an orange candle for it so it can be lit. Three panels are multicoloured and the fourth is a door with plain turquoise glass. I realised that I spent nine hours on it! Eek. For the final two weeks of the course I will make a fairly simple hanging thing and paint it with lead paint which will be fired.
My brother hasn’t had his operation yet, it should have been Tuesday and then today. The latest is that they want to do more tests. He thought he would be back in Port McQuarrie by the weekend.
OH is cooking chicken curry for dinner. It is the Local History Society tonight. The talk is on six warrior women of the Civil War.
Have a good evening.
Oh yes, a group hug is always welcome, very comforting.
Warm, caring thoughts to you all. x
It’s just starting to get dark - is it good afternoon or good evening? It’s WI tonight, so I should be getting our meal ready early. It’s been a busy day, starting with a haircut and then the dentist. It was a good haircut but a nasty shock at the latter. My back tooth is a crown but the root has crumbled so it needs removing and replacing with a denture (nooo) or an implant (also nooo!). Even the scan is over £350!
There are 3 bags of manure in the boot of DH’s car, which will please him when he smells it! Fingers crossed it’s a dry day tomorrow to get it spread.
I hope your DS is making progress with SS ann. This too will pass. I’m glad your DGS had a good evening.
Hope you all have a good evening
