Good evening kitchen pals, it’s been a dry sunny day here in Inverness but still quite cold.

We arrived home really late last night but we were so pleased to eventually be back home. Today I’ve been doing the washing, shopping and I went to the gym for the Aqua Zumba class - always good fun!
Im looking forward to starting on the cream teas again soon llfl, always a treat in the summer - £5.50 sounds really good value!

En-suite chaos looms Jax - when we recently had ours done the main problem was the fine white dust that got everywhere so I’d recommend moving as much stuff out of the way as possible!

Hi all, apart from a brief shower this morning, it’s been dry, very windy until about 3 and sunny intervals, we hope to get the grass cut this weekend.
I like a cheese scone llfl I’ve not got much of a sweet tooth, your tea sounds a bargain.
I hope those away are enjoying family time, we’ve seen my daughter and the grandchildren today, all pleased to be on a school break.

Delia's Chocoate Bread and Butter Pudding is one of my favourites too! 20+ of us had it on Boxing Day. One huge advantage for me is that it benefits from being made in advance!
However for Easter Sunday I think I'll do a Hot Cross Bun and Butter pudding!
Or maybe Lemon Posset........

I love a lemon posset and it’s probably the easiest pudding in the world!

But then I might have to eat the Hot Cross Buns I have bought

We had lemon posset tonight and I plan a chocolate B&B pudding on Sunday. DH & DD do not like duck but tonight DSIL and I had a duck, while they had pork. I did Delia’s Duck with Seville orange glaze and it was very good.
Baby is 9 weeks and has grown up so much since we saw them! Holding her head up, smiling, looking around and trying to make sounds. Her brother has suddenly started to add more words to his vocabulary every day and stringing word together. We are very blessed.
Even more for lunch on Sunday than at Christmas. Oh heck!
We had a “last hour” service this afternoon with some lovely music played between the readings. I managed to stay awake!

Coincidentally I have just had lunch with a friend and my pudding was lemon posset! Absolutely delicious. It came with not one, nor two but three shortbread biscuits.

Especially nice with Duchy Originals Lavender Shortbread.

Hello Lovely kitchen ladies..I have had lovely catch up with all the news while DOH drives us back from Dunster. Our friends is down from Surrey so we set off early in Henrietta Moho.... we parked up right by the beach and the 'children' careered out the door and the men took them for a walk while I cooked brunch ( I said I would only ever cook breakfast). I managed a bit of a walk too but my recent fears were confirmed...my left hip is hurting now... It's to be expected I suppose given that everything is out of kilter. I took some meds and had a lovely little snooze so normal ( as if that would ever be the case) is now restored. We are going to the vigil service at 8pm....it's long ( 3 hours last year when DOH was received into the church). I'm doing the 7th reading ( that's long too). Tomorrow we have friends coming for dinner.... I'm not doing a roast...I want to spend time with everyone and the pain of bending down to the cooker is too much at times. ( I miss my wall ovens at times like these)..We are having Chicken Basque with Roasted Piedmont peppers....after a simple mozzarella and tomato with balsamic glaze to start....last time they came I did Delia's choc bread and butter pudding so this time it's an Old English Gooseberry Cobbler.
Soop...I hope all goes well when the consultant calls you.... Thank Goodness they have adjusted your meds too.
SueD....I wish you and your DS many many more birthdays to make memories.

The talk of delicious food here is making my mouth water! I've had a decent day. I was at Tesco earlier and picked up food for tomorrow. I'm being very lazy and providing a buffet lunch. I'm making nothing from scratch which is very lazy. Quiche, chicken, ham, smoked salmon blinis, chicken vol au vents, salad, crusty bread, cheeses, pate, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages etc etc. Then cheesecake, profiteroles and macarons with strawberries and raspberries. so easy for the family to dip into. The table is set, the house is fairly clean and I'll do a little titivating tomorrow morning. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners

We’ve had showers on and off today so I’ve not done much gardening, we went out to the garden centre instead and bought a couple of plants. Then a trip to Tesco’s and Aldi to stock up on groceries as we seem to have run out of lots of stuff. I bought the ingredients for the lemon posset which I’m going to make in the morning

Hi all, what a lovely sunny day, I got my greenhouse clean and tidy, conquering my fear of the naughty patio which is no longer slippery.
brook dust comment noted thank you, I’ll book my daughters friend in who's a cleaner, she’ll do a very thorough job.
I must be the only person here who doesn’t regularly cook desserts, well, maybe four or five times a year, more of a savoury tooth in this house.
I don’t blame you Grandmabatty less washing up, less stress with more time to enjoy your family, as it should be.

Good evening dear Kitcheners, we’ve been getting out and about enjoying the sunshine and the various activities at the railway museum and on the marina, I think tomorrow may be a lazy day, escorted as the clocks go back l. Looking forward to the lighter evenings but it takes me a little while to adjust to getting up earlier. We are seeing family on Monday and having a pub lunch.

I am posting to say that if Dear Blossoming put all her clocks back, she is going to be very out of synch all day as they should have gone forward.
Spring forward, Fall back.
I have been quite off colour but finished the antibiotics yesterday so hope to feel better.
The cough is lingering.

If you did put your clocks back blossoming it means I wasn’t alone! Fortunately I realised as soon as I’d done them and repeated the circuit. Not too many, most are self adjusting here.

A quiet day ahead. Mr C has developed a hip issue, not pain rather a reluctance to work as it should. I’ve diagnosed too much furniture moving while working on him seeing a physio at our surgery, it will take time!

A beef roast later with apple pie to follow, Mr C’s favourites, we don’t eat lamb. There are chocolate eggs too, I’m hoping Mr C will be able to join me for a walk along our little river, think we’ll both need it .
