We went to watch DGS4 play junior football this morning.He did very well,I reckon he had some coaching from big brother.😀
Just finished the packing and off to Malta in the morning.It will be nice to have a week away and I have the trusted stick to help me along.
I hate using it but needs be sometimes.

Hello kitchen people. I’m so sorry that many of you are having difficult times.

Church this morning at the biggest church in the Benefice. They had the wrong hymn numbers on the board and the presiding vicar doesn’t have a clear voice. We had to wait until the organist started playing and then frantically search for the right page.

Before lunch OH and I went to an Antique Fair in a small town about half an hour away. I bought two ramekin dishes and a teeny tiny cup and saucer. OH was tempted by a telescope and a fencing sword but bought nothing. We used to go to lots of antique fairs years ago and I think we might do so regularly again.

Dinner is beef bourguignon - I still need to add the bacon and mushrooms. Pudding will be sticky toffee pudding with lashings of cream.

Out for a walk today, this mild spell might cause some plants a cropper as it cools down later in the week, a shame if it does.

Brook you seem to have had a lovely relaxing holiday. You will indeed notice the temperature difference when you get back. The local nursery attached to the primary school were indeed happy to take my stock of crayons and coloured pencils etc. I am now looking to see what else I need to get rid of. Gardener coming tomorrow to give us a quote to cut back some trees, Dh used to do it but I am not happy about him climbing up ladders these days. No doubt we will get a shock at the price but needs to be done. Thoughts with Baggs and Urms.

Good evening Kitcheners, another flying visit. I have made progress with the wardrobe tidying but it’s set me off on another declutter! No walk, the wind has been howling all day. Plenty of exercise though, I’m working on strengthening my core and legs. Today I’ve added prone hamstring curls to my routine and they’re a killer, I had to lie down for an hour to recover 😂. I’m now tucked up in bed sipping hot chocolate. Goodnight, sleep tight, TOYA.

DGD is two weeks old today and back at hospital with bronchiolitis. She arrived into a family with chest infections
We are just home from 5 hours of school runs and toddler wrangling with the other half of the family. He’s a very chunky 2 year old! I hate it when the alarm goes off at 6! 😳
It’s windy here but dry. I hope the Scottish grans aren’t getting washed away.

Afternoon kitcheners. Nannytopsy high winds but drizzle so far. I have dgs1 lying on the couch. I had to go get him from nursery. He's a poor looking wee soul. At the moment he's sleeping. Dgs2 is in his cot rumbling around but he'll sleep soon. Then I had a phonecall from mums social worker which I have ignored. I've already told her I provide childcare on Monday and Tuesday. I expect it's to ask if I've contacted my lawyer about guardianship yet. I'm feeling rather suffocated with a myriad of demands on me. And I'm slightly under the weather too! Oh well, it'll all sort itself out I suppose. Enjoy your afternoon kitcheners

My GS passed his driving test this morning but now the worry begins!

The birthday party was enormous fun. We are in awe of the friend, who together with his wife, have worked for ten years restoring a huge derelict barn. We were given a guided tour. Such a huge undertaking for them both. It is estimated that there remains a further three plus years before completion. All the work has been carried out without outside help. I am speechless with admiration.

Nannytopsy Bless your wee granddaughter. She will be in excellent hands.

We had a great afternoon at the Wee Boy's 4th birthday party yesterday, two birthday celebrations in a row! And today, DS2 and DS3 celebrate their birthdays, both born on this day but not twins!

AGAA4, congratulations to your DGS, but I think IKWYM.... DGS1 is learning to drive, it is another worry to add to my list...

Scapa, we've reached the same stage as you, having to 'get a man in' to do the things DH always did...decorating, DIY, anything involving ladders. Ages and stages.

Blossoming, well done on your decluttering, I need some of your motivation. My house is long overdue a serious decluttering. My get up and go, such as it was, has gone. However, I did manage to plant up some tubs on the patio before the wind and rain took over.

Miserable day here weather-wise, grey and drizzly with a cold wind. If I go looking for a reason I usually feel grumpy in February I need look no further.

We’ve been allocated to a different dentist. Mr C had a filling this afternoon, he doesn’t worry about these things fortunately. Sadly our view from the checkups was confirmed, he isn’t the kindest dentist. Oh heck. Next challenge to deal with, the dental practice tends to have a no choice approach for NHS patients. Our next appointments are in November, with luck he’ll have left by then.

If all goes to plan we can use an afternoon tea voucher tomorrow. 🤞 nothing gets in the way.

Well the cases are packed ready for our journey home tomorrow, we don’t need an early start as the flight back to Edinburgh isn’t until late afternoon. I’m quite a worrier though about what might go wrong so we’ll probably get to the airport far too early and be bored silly. It’ll be an overnight stay at Edinburgh airport tomorrow night and then back up the road on Wednesday. It’s a real hassle that you can’t fly direct to Inverness - always Edinburgh or Glasgow and then the long journey up the A9. Anyhow we’ll be home soon enough with lots of happy memories
