Our lives are now being run by our tiny kitten. 🤷‍♀️ We’ve had him for five days and he’s ruling the roost. 😂 He seems very happy with us and has settled down well, eating us out of house and home. He’s also deploying his claws and teeth and both Dh and I are sporting scratches and scabs! He’s a lot of fun and we adore him already.

I continue to improve and have made progress in getting to the source of my recent ‘episode’. I’ve had a number of lovely cards and flowers from friends, people are really so kind. I wish all the world was as lovely as the friends I know.

It’s been a wet day but we ventured out to get dh’s laptop repaired. It was done within an hour at one of those tiny little shops that have sprouted up in towns. Excellent service and a v reasonable price.

We’re no further forward in the repairs to the house. I phoned the people today, they said they’d call back but no one has so I suppose I’ll need to call again tomorrow.

Tomorrow I’m having my hair cut - more like being sheared, it’s out of control right now!

Baby is home and feeding well again. A lot of mucus was hoovered out of her nose etc and it seems to have done the trick. Phew! Thank you for all you good wishes.

We were rubbish at quiz, but had a couple of hours of fun and laughs, that’s worth a lot.

What a splendid kitten, SueD. We had a cat years ago with that colouring. We called her Blue.

SueD he has settled in so well in HIS house-he is always welcome to come here for his holidays. I do miss not having a cat but I do not want the cat to outlive me.

Having just taken on an 11 year old cat I highly recommend it. Of course I hope to outlive her and in the meantime she has a loving home and is spared a cattery and perhaps not being chosen. As with every cat we have owned, her preferences are clear and her abilIty to be in charge is obvious.

I get very uncomfortable with changes of dentist or doctor, you like to feel safe with a familiar, trusted health care professional. There is a merger afoot at our GP practice, I'm not sure that I like the sound of that.

I'm start very gently with my decluttering. I've emptied, cleaned and reorganised one deep kitchen drawer, and thrown out a basket full of junk from the garage. Small steps!

It is wet and chilly and miserable here in Stockport.
I hope you don’t mind if I come on here and moan.
I am finding it so hard to say to anyone else just how I feel.
If I knew there was an end to the current situation I feel I could cope but there seems to be no answer to what is going to happen.
I didn’t expect my final years (not so many left now) with a full house .
I want peace and quiet and I am not getting it.
The whole thing is so complicated and I can’t say much but just that I don’t want it and it seems there is no alternative.
My GD is furious and my D from the comfort of hundreds of miles away pontificates as to what I should be doing but doesn’t understand or want to understand how difficult things are.

There now I have had my rant , it doesn’t alter things but at least I have said it.

Cornergran I also had a filling yesterday and what a difference to your H’s experience.
I have been with this practice for many many years and my Dentist for a long time.
We know each other very well and whilst he isn’t the chatty type he is gentle and kind.
I was only in the chair for about 15/20 mins and that included cleaning and polishing while the numbing took place.
I hope you can change your dentist before next time.

I must away and empty the washing machine and once again utilise the tumble dryer.

GrannySomerset We are cat people. Feral cats adopt us. Our latest cat, Sweetie Pie uses us whenever he fancies bed and breakfast. We do not expect gratitude. He is a free spirit.

Our friend's farewell service in the village kirk was attended by so many people that the gallery was also filled to capacity. There were favourite songs of his played...some country and western, some Beatles, and one that made us all smile...Look on the Bright Side of Life. Our friend's mantra. His simple coffin made of wicker. We two wish for the same. The cremation will be a private, family affair. That is also what we wish.
The weather, although chilly, remained sunny and dry. We shall have a wee dram in our pal's memory later this evening.

Mr Soop is having his scalp treated at the local surgery. He's to see the skin specialist in the near future.

Time to prepare for a game of Scrabble. On average, Mr Soop scores the highest total. I do, however, have my moments.

Afternoon kitcheners. I had to pick up dgs1 again from nursery just after lunch. Same thing, he'd had a great morning, then wham! A headache again. Dd got a doctor's appointment for him and it seems he has developed migraine headaches as a result of having viruses. They've to take him back in a couple of weeks if it persists. He was a woebegone wee soul until half three when he and his brother had a mad three quarters of an hour. I mean mad! They were like puppies. It culminated in dgs1 putting Donald, where's your troosers on Alexa and dancing around the living room. Of course, dgs2 copied him. They were crackling like hens. It was nice to see him back to normal. I am eating chocolate to recover.

After a bit of a drama this morning when I slipped off the edge of the footpath from our bungalow to the car (the soil each side is a good 6” lower than the path) and slid (thumped!) none too gracefully to the ground we had an enjoyable day. Our neighbour was walking towards us and helped Mr C haul me upright. Two men had much heightened BP. Oh dear. We came back indoors to check for scraped knees, all intact other than a graze on one wrist and some emerging bruises. No major damage.

When we lived in houses I was (in)famous for falling down stairs. No stairs now but it seems I’m doing the best I can to carry on the tradition .

Unperturbed I drove us to a shopping mall where we enjoyed a wander around and a really good afternoon tea courtesy of some of the ‘change’ from gift vouchers given to Mr C for his birthday - last February. There is sufficient remaining credit for another 2.5 afternoon teas, oh dear, I can feel my waistband getting tighter .

Your poor grandson grandmab, migraine can be hard to manage in adults, must be harder for children. You definitely deserved that chocolate.

Ann you’re more than entitled to have a rant. No matter how much we want to support our families some times patience is sorely tested. If it helps I’d be the same. I more than value our peaceful home and much as I love our family three overnight stays is enough.

Good luck with de cluttering granmarie. We’ve just begun on 55 years of greeting cards. Think it will take a while. The plan is to keep a few very special cards and photograph the others before they leave the building. At the least we’d like the three current large boxes to shrink to one smaller box. It might work. .

It is sunny and chilly. Mr Soop is attempting to find the cause of water bubbling up from the bath whenever I flush the lav. When he's satisfied that he's found the problem, and solved it, I shall suggest a game of Scrabble. We enjoy challenging our remaining grey cells. .

I have tidied up the kitchen, hoovered and put stuff away so Batty Towers is back to normal. This morning I visited my friend's partner for coffee. He gave me some photos of my family that my friend had kept. I'll pass most to dd. One was of us at school aged 6 in the nativity play. We were both Wise Men. This afternoon I visited mum. She has lost her last boundary and shouted shut up very loudly at the lady opposite. I was mortified. 😊. To be fair, the lady opposite was laughing hysterically and shouting,but still. Tonight I am having a fridge dinner. Bacon,egg, sausage,potato scones,hash browns,tomatoes and anything else that'll go with that combination. Enjoy the rest of your day..

Had the alarm man this morning to alter the settings so that I can leave it on when out without the new feline setting it off. Just back from singing to be greeted indignantly by my new fur friend demanding her tea at least an hour early. She is not amused by a few Dreamies as a putter onner but she would eat three meals a day if let and is already on the portly side.

Must sort myself out in order to chair tonight’s History Society meeting with a degree of competence, sadly in rather short supply nowadays.

Tomorrow is the first preop appointment for the knee. They phoned to offer this Friday for the op but I elected to stick with the surgeon I saw, after our holiday. It’s not going to be long though.

Hello kitchen people. We all seem a bit busy at the moment!
I had my stained glass course today. I loved it. My lantern is progressing. I finished cutting out all the shapes for the panels as well as the door, which is a simple glass rectangle. I then edged everything with copper wire ready to solder next week. I only cut myself twice!
It is the WI committee meeting later which I’ll walk down to with my neighbour. OH will have dinner ready when I get back - if he’s not delayed having a blood test at the health centre. Have a good evening.
