Good Morning Saturday 3rd February 2024

Good morning all and it’s bright-skyed here in Essex.

We have eldest DGD coming for the weekend from Southampton and the trains are disrupted. She’s planned her journey so I hope all goes well for her. 🤞.

Dh will go to footie with ds1 and I’ll do some baking for tomorrows lunch with the family.

I’ll carry on with the crocheted blanket. Ive unravelled it twice and it’s still going out of shape. Never had this problem before 🤯. 😤. How hard can it be! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦‍♀️.

I hope all poorlies feel a bit better and those with cares and woes find some peace of mind. 🌷

Good morning. After a beautiful sunny day in Suffolk yesterday,today is,so far, dull and damp.

So sorry MaryDoll to hear that you are still unwell and confined to barracks and hope you,and others feeling unwell,feel better soon.

Apart from our usual Saturday food delivery it will be a quiet day I think. I had a lovely long lunch with my dear friend yesterday and we have DS and family visiting tomorrow so a quiet day at home is to be enjoyed. Off soon for the morning dog walk after another cuppa.

The cat is due to arrive later this morning so I am looking forward to meeting her and hope arrangements pass muster. Another living creature in the house will be so welcome.

Sorry to read that Marydoll is having such a dismal time and hope that the approach of spring will help a little. Lots of bulbs in the garden are showing signs of life and the birds are getting quite noisy too, all of which cheers me up.

Grey, breezy and mild today.

Have a few chores to get on with, otherwise a fairly quiet day ahead. Might try to pop out for a coffee somewhere though, as we’ve been indoors since Wednesday and I’m getting cabin fever.

Sorry to read that you are feeling so poorly, Marydoll. I hope you feel a better as the day goes on.

Good morning Mick and all. It's a lovely bright brisk day on the Angus coast, though at 7° not exactly warm. Two lovely markers on the march towards Spring yesterday - sunshine reached the north-facing garden room in the afternoon and there was still light on the sky at 5.45pm! That brings so much joy - and two magpies come to the birdtable now. What more can a body ask?
Another cause for satisfaction was the completion of a pile of tai chi paperwork. It piled up before Christmas because there was always something else which had to be done, and same again in January because life was just one long social whirl busier than usual, so I am determined not to let that (the pile of paperwork) happen again.
Today DD and I are off for a Boozy Afternoon Tea at The Globe in Edinburgh - yet another celebration of her 50th birthday, and her choice. I hope it's as good as it sounds!
Mizuna your posts are always so bright and full of fun - I love them!
Corner I'm glad your introduction to the world of tai chi went well.
Grandmattie I hope your back eases today with a bit more TLC - your body is asking you to slow down maybe?
Grandmabatty you achieved plenty yesterday - the lovely time with your DD, DGS2 and your friends. Much more satisfying than a swept floor or a tidy pile of ironed clothes 😉

Morning from South Lanarkshire, just a little wind this morning which is very welcome.

Car trouble yesterday which might be serious. I’ll take it for a short run soon to see if I can risk a longer one this afternoon when I’m going to meet friends in Biggar, 12 miles away.
It’s going into the garage on Monday to be looked at which means going to East Ren for childminding by train or not at all.
I’ll see what DD wants, what a pain.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Apart from a little shopping and art group (not happy with my effort…) yesterday was quiet and I felt tired for no particular reason and had an early (for me) night.

Pianist friend arrives today and I will rustle up some lunch. He will stay overnight.

I’m so enjoying the 1998 BBC Our Mutual Friend and catching up with some of the well made period dramas I missed at the time.

I hope your back improves grandmattie, you work so hard and conscientiously. Thoughts to all with worries 🌺

Good morning Mickand all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 9°C.

My “innards” are still behaving and my Friday health check showed a BP of 107/72 and a weight loss of a further 1kg. Not much on the agenda today. It isn’t raining and doesn’t seem windy, hopefully I’ll get out for a walk. I need to stretch my legs and get some fresh air.

Good morning from N Bucks where it looks like a nice day. I have been enjoying the luxury of a lie-in after my overnighter in London on Thursday. Now un encumbered by dogs or children I am recharging my batteries for stage 2 in Birmingham tonight!
My arms and shoulders ache a bit after the driving especially the slow home bound queue up the M1 yesterday afternoon.
Hope the M1/M6 are clearer today.
