Good morning from a sunny and dry East Midlands. Two weeks on monday since my operation and I am taking each day as it comes. Chomping on the bit to go out but need to be patient. Have a good day everyone. Hugs and love to those unwell or just low on mood.

Good Morning Saturday 3rd February 2024
(37 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark with a crescent moon but dry ,and at a guess cold outside if there is any wind .
There still seems to be no sign of Spring as regards to flowers etc locally in growth planted or wild.
My usual plan to Bicester on the bus I am hoping this routine on a Saturday will change when the revised X5 starts in half hourly service mid month to give me a Buckingham option as well as Bicester .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from N Bucks where it looks like a nice day. I have been enjoying the luxury of a lie-in after my overnighter in London on Thursday. Now un encumbered by dogs or children I am recharging my batteries for stage 2 in Birmingham tonight!
My arms and shoulders ache a bit after the driving especially the slow home bound queue up the M1 yesterday afternoon.
Hope the M1/M6 are clearer today.
With kind thoughts to all in pain or with worries.
Good morning Mickand all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 9°C.
My “innards” are still behaving and my Friday health check showed a BP of 107/72 and a weight loss of a further 1kg. Not much on the agenda today. It isn’t raining and doesn’t seem windy, hopefully I’ll get out for a walk. I need to stretch my legs and get some fresh air.
Marydoll hope you feel a little better soon.
Thoughts with Kalu,Baggs and Urms, as always.
Have the best day you can, whatever you’re doing today 🦩🦩
Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Apart from a little shopping and art group (not happy with my effort…) yesterday was quiet and I felt tired for no particular reason and had an early (for me) night.
Pianist friend arrives today and I will rustle up some lunch. He will stay overnight.
I’m so enjoying the 1998 BBC Our Mutual Friend and catching up with some of the well made period dramas I missed at the time.
I hope your back improves grandmattie, you work so hard and conscientiously. Thoughts to all with worries 🌺
Morning from South Lanarkshire, just a little wind this morning which is very welcome.
Car trouble yesterday which might be serious. I’ll take it for a short run soon to see if I can risk a longer one this afternoon when I’m going to meet friends in Biggar, 12 miles away.
It’s going into the garage on Monday to be looked at which means going to East Ren for childminding by train or not at all.
I’ll see what DD wants, what a pain.
I’m looking forward to hearing how things go with your new cat GrannySomerset, very well I hope.
Wishing everyone a good day and an improving one for you Marydoll
Good morning Mick and all. It's a lovely bright brisk day on the Angus coast, though at 7° not exactly warm. Two lovely markers on the march towards Spring yesterday - sunshine reached the north-facing garden room in the afternoon and there was still light on the sky at 5.45pm! That brings so much joy - and two magpies come to the birdtable now. What more can a body ask?
Another cause for satisfaction was the completion of a pile of tai chi paperwork. It piled up before Christmas because there was always something else which had to be done, and same again in January because life was just one long social whirl busier than usual, so I am determined not to let that (the pile of paperwork) happen again.
Today DD and I are off for a Boozy Afternoon Tea at The Globe in Edinburgh - yet another celebration of her 50th birthday, and her choice. I hope it's as good as it sounds!
Mizuna your posts are always so bright and full of fun - I love them!
Corner I'm glad your introduction to the world of tai chi went well.
Grandmattie I hope your back eases today with a bit more TLC - your body is asking you to slow down maybe?
Grandmabatty you achieved plenty yesterday - the lovely time with your DD, DGS2 and your friends. Much more satisfying than a swept floor or a tidy pile of ironed clothes 😉
Marydoll and all the other poorlies, I hope today brings ease for you, and those with heartache find moments of peace.
Now off I go to get this particular show on the road - Boozy Tea, here I come!
Good morning,
Grey, breezy and mild today.
Have a few chores to get on with, otherwise a fairly quiet day ahead. Might try to pop out for a coffee somewhere though, as we’ve been indoors since Wednesday and I’m getting cabin fever.
Sorry to read that you are feeling so poorly, Marydoll. I hope you feel a better as the day goes on.
Time for a cuppa now. Take care.
Fingers crossed GrannySomerset I hope it goes well.
The cat is due to arrive later this morning so I am looking forward to meeting her and hope arrangements pass muster. Another living creature in the house will be so welcome.
Sorry to read that Marydoll is having such a dismal time and hope that the approach of spring will help a little. Lots of bulbs in the garden are showing signs of life and the birds are getting quite noisy too, all of which cheers me up.
Good morning. After a beautiful sunny day in Suffolk yesterday, today is,so far, dull and damp.
So sorry MaryDoll to hear that you are still unwell and confined to barracks and hope you,and others feeling unwell, feel better soon.
Apart from our usual Saturday food delivery it will be a quiet day I think. I had a lovely long lunch with my dear friend yesterday and we have DS and family visiting tomorrow so a quiet day at home is to be enjoyed. Off soon for the morning dog walk after another cuppa.
Good morning all and it’s bright-skyed here in Essex.
We have eldest DGD coming for the weekend from Southampton and the trains are disrupted. She’s planned her journey so I hope all goes well for her. 🤞.
Dh will go to footie with ds1 and I’ll do some baking for tomorrows lunch with the family.
I’ll carry on with the crocheted blanket. Ive unravelled it twice and it’s still going out of shape. Never had this problem before 🤯. 😤. How hard can it be! 🤷🏻♀️🤦♀️.
I hope all poorlies feel a bit better and those with cares and woes find some peace of mind. 🌷
Good morning from yet another wet day here in Sefton. It might just clear up later this afternoon.
Another quick trip to our local retail park this morning. I need to replace my clip on magnifying glass which has just about given up the ghost. Can no longer do my cross stitch without it. Hope there will be a good selection in Hobbycraft. Will also pop into M & S while I am there.
Afternoon tea at a posh golf club/hotel/spa with my DiL & GD to look forward to later on today.
Hoping today is kind to you all.
Good morning all from the Black country.
Yesterday spent time in the garden tidying snowdrops have appeared and found a couple of eggs a little gift from the fox have left them in situ for him.
Tea at DS this evening then we will mind the boys while their parents are out for the evening.
GM take it easy with your back.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later usual full English calling.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and dry. Very windy again. GrandMattie I hope your back gets better soon. Marydoll there are a number of nasty bugs kicking around just now.
Yesterday I met up with a friend and dd and dgs2 for breakfast. Another dear friend who I don't see very often appeared too. So we had a lovely blether. Dgs2 behaved beautifully for a toddler and gave the ladies a hug when he left. That made them very happy. The afternoon just vanished and I had achieved little.
Today is housework and shopping. I did washings yesterday. I'm not sure what else I'll get up to. Have a good day all
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I will get the house work and my ironing done today. I didn’t have time yesterday what with driving OH to the hospital for various scans.
We need new lampshades for the lounge. I have chosen them but thought I’d sleep on it. The current ones are well over 20 years old and are beginning to disintegrate.
My daughter won £250 on the Premium bonds yesterday. I haven’t heard yet - 5th of the month is usually the latest I hear.
OH will be watching rugby so I’ll take the opportunity to read a book or two - or make a chocolate cake!
Have a wonderful day and I’m thinking of those with seemingly insurmountable difficulties.
Morning all 👋
Today I am watching a 4yr old GS at football, as we have the teenagers here the 14 yr old has a season ticket for Southend United he needs a lift there and picking up after the match. The 15 yr old will do whatever he fancies…
Steak and chips for the men, I fancy salad with mine.
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️
Morning all from a mild, dull S Hampshire. I hope your back improves today gMattie, it’s depressing.
Fingers crossed for your daughter in law corner the waiting can be so difficult.
A quiet day yesterday awaiting a parcel that didn’t arrive, annoying. Quick visit to the pub last night for a catch up with the usual crew, one man down, he has a filthy cold.
Another rugby household here baubles an excellent start for Ireland last night, MrJ was happy.
🦩🦩
MorningMarydoll and * Mick* hope you’re feeling better soon md . I’m just awake I’ve had a great sleep but feel it’s chilly outside here on the east coast of Fife. It’s been blowing a hoollie outsideall night long which I can hear from my cosy bed. I’ll be having a relaxing Saturday with the central heating well up.
Keep cosy and safe m gn friends💐
Good morning everyone from a dull grey Northampton, mild at 10°C outside. A trip to Sainsbury's and Next is called for at some time today.
Really enjoyed my dance classes yesterday, a change seeing different people in the Friday groups. Caught up with a friend there and we went for a coffee afterwards.
An email from Anglian water yesterday to say I may have a leak, as water is being used constantly 24 hours a day. Think I may have found the source, as I found the downstairs cloakroom tap slightly turned on and running. I tend not to use the basin in there as the hot water takes so long to come through; I can only think one of the cats may have been up to mischief and had knocked it. Anyway, DS is coming down this morning to do a check on the water meter.
More Six Nations rugby to watch on tv this afternoon; looking forward to seeing my Saints team boys playing for England.
Steak for dinner tonight, quick and easy meal to cook.
Hope the weekend goes to plan for everyone.
Good morning everyone from Severnside. I’ve sat here and enjoyed how the sky changes as it gets light.
I’ve had a few of jobs done around the house so I’ve a couple of bills to pay this morning and will then do my weekly shop. Later I might start gathering up things for a tip run I hope to do soon.
Best wishes for the day to you all 🌸
Good morning from South Yorkshire where it is struggling to get light, with banks of thick dark cloud. It is mild though. I slept through last night - very unusual for me. Not a lot planned today. A food shop this morning. If the sun appears later I will go out into the garden for a while. I’m tempted to prune my roses but think it might be too early yet. Other than that it will be reading and knitting.
Have the best day you can folks!
Good morning from Malta where we have blue skies and a high of 16°C. There was a small amount of rain last evening but not much.
No babysitting today - I do miss them on my ‘days off’- but I have plenty of boring jobs to do around the house starting with some ironing.
I feel so lazy when I read of all your busy lives, I find it an effort to motivate myself nowadays.
Anyway, as my lovely nana used to say “this won’t get the baby a new dress nor yet mend the old one “ so I had better get on with it.😊
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Good morning from Glasgow. 7 deg. drizzly and windy again.
Just finishing my kick start espresso and admiring the large bunch of tulips I bought on Thursday for my bedroom. Cut flowers always lift my spirits. Only plan so far today is to touch up the frame of a gilded bedroom chair with an antique gold wax mix.
Hoping the day is kind to all.
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
I hope your back eases today, GM, backache is so debilitating.
I won't be doing much today. I seem to have picked up yet another infection, I had an awful stomach bug yesterday and still feel rotten today. No vigil Mass for me tonight. My life seems to be on hold again.
My immune system is so compromised, I am unable to fight infections off. That on top of everything else is a b***er!
One light in the darkness is the kindness of those who have sent me PMs. Your thoughtfulness means a lot to me.
Enjoy your day folks, seize every opportunity you are given, while you can.
As always, thinking of those who have a daily mountain to climb. 🙏
Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.
We had fun with the DGC yesterday, the youngest has had his first haircut and immediately looks less baby like and more toddler like. He’s a happy little thing and good fun.
Today will be mainly rugby focused, I will carry on with my crochet whilst keeping one eye on the tv.
Thinking of all those with troubles especially Baggs, Kalu and Urms.
Have the best day possible everyone.
