Good Morning Everyone,
Dark and cloddy here in brackley at the moment ,and roughly around an hours time it should be daylight .
Todays plans usual bus trip ,maybe have a bacon sarnie do some shopping although numbers in the supermarkets are low even with the Northants/Oxon/Bucks all having slightly different school half terms as those boundary's are close to brackley area .
Tempted still to have a Chinese take Away later as a treat .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, it’s a damp start here in south Glos, rainy weekend is forecast.
Yesterday I sorted through the contents of the airing cupboard, including all my cleaning supplies and far too much bath and shower gels. I will donate some to the women’s refuge that I support.
Then I did 3 loads of washing and tidied the kitchen, including my cupboard of storage tubs/lids. By lunchtime I was tired, having been awake since 2am.
I did do more sock knitting, I should finish the second one this weekend.
Today I will put everything back in the landing cupboard and then enjoy a few hours drawing I think.
Have a lovely weekend 🌹

Good morning from a still dark Bristol. I’ve no idea what the weather is like as I haven’t looked out. I think we are predicted very heavy rain this evening.
I had a busy morning doing this and that, laundry, cleaning, etc.
I had a surprise text from DD inviting me to lunch in the nearby village. Iris had a gymkhana with RDA and they were coming back this way…. It was delightful and we had a delicious lunch. I’m always slightly nervous ordering meat as they are all veggies, but I did this time.
DD, Iris and I came home while DGD and her dad trawled the local charity shops. Like the other granny, they are dedicated bargain hunters. I find them dreadfully depressing for some reason.
DD and I set about digging a hole in a tiny little useless, unused grassed area under my kitchen window, to plant my Christmas dwarf plum tree. It’s a Merryweather, which I think is a damson…. We planted spent daffodil bulbs and Muscari round the bottom. I hope it does well there.
It was quite late by the time they left, so I just made myself the promised leek gratin for dinner and pootled for the rest of the evening.
Just church coffee this morning. I’ll probably sew this afternoon.
I hope today brings comfort and joy to you all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire where rain is forecast all day.

An early start after a disturbed nights sleep.I need to be at DD’s by 9 with the children then we are going up to the Lancashire/Yorkshire border for a family gathering.Luckily DD is driving.DH has decided to have a day at home as his knee is troubling him and he doesn’t fancy sitting in the car for hours.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from a mild Torbay with rain likely this afternoon.

You did well yesterday on so little sleep, RosesandLilac!
Your surprise lunch with your family turned into a good day, grandMattie.
I hope you are able to enjoy a Chinese meal, Mick.
Safe journey, Susan56 and I hope the family gathering goes well.

We plan to attend a quiz at church this afternoon then an evening at our theatre for a Lionel Richie tribute concert, which should be good. My Move It Or Lose It teacher is the compère.

Take care, everyone. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Malta where it’s a cloudy 12°C at present but will reach 18°C later.

I feel quite decadent being still in bed as I’ve usually been up for four hours at this time!

I was up late watching tennis, first from Rotterdam and then from Buenos Aires. Good matches so worth the late night.

Today I plan to clean the windows and then tackle the rest of the decluttering and cleaning. Not my favourite task but it needs doing.

Will have to pop out to buy dog food or my poor Buzz will go hungry. He’s a rather large rescue dog from Sicily and loves his food.

You all sound very busy with one thing and another so I hope you have a good weekend.☀️

Good morning, more rain later but ok for a few hours in s somerset

I need to look at my shopping list on alexa later, to see if there is anything urgent. Otherwise I will carry on with bumbling along today. Sewing, spinning, some basic cleaning and not to forget the reading.

I have started to use my wooden rocking chair more, it was new and a present to me but I never used it enough. I have fixed a cushion on the base and back and I used it last evening. It worked, kept my lower back and hips moving and stopped any ache before it started

My coat is coming together a treat, hood with grommets assembled yesterday. Two part sleeves today. Slow and steady sewing, speed turned down and using a jeans needle

Have a good day

Good morning from a mild Colchester. Biblical rain is forecast for later.
We had a great time yesterday catching up with old friends. I've promised to dig out some photos so that'll occupy some time.
I need to walk into the City to the Evri drop off shop as DS is selling stuff on eBay but he's not at home to post it...Mum to the rescue.
Otherwise it's catching up with laundry and making a beef casserole for tonight.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from Cornwall where it's calm and dry and quiet. Took a bus to Porthleven yesterday and sat by the harbour wall as if I was on holiday. Today my six-year-old grandson is coming to do woodworking or whatever in my workroom and I'll take him home by bus afterwards.

My daughter is coming to stay for her and her brother's birthdays, three days apart, in a couple of weeks so I must start to make my flat blind-friendly for her. It will be a treat to spend time with her.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 17-Feb-24 07:22:24

Good morning from a damp South Downs. Drizzle expected and later heavy rain all night. Mild though.

The squirrels have taken to the new feeder with enthusiasm, and I must order some more food.

My old terrier has been prescribed metacam as he had got very slow. Well I worked like a miracle and he is now running around much more like his old self, but a couple of times I forgot to give it to him and it didn’t seem to make any difference, so I started giving it to him every other night. But now I think I’m wrong as I have noticed that he has more restless nights on the non-medicated ones - so perhaps is discomfort. So I will do what the professional expert advised!🙄

Today is free - hoorah- so I shall take it as it comes.

Salt and pepper Prawns with mango salsa and rice for supper.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and Harmony to our world.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I am meeting an old friend for lunch - the one who has the occasional tantrum in a restaurant!
Younger son has gone back to London. I dropped him off in Oxford yesterday and then did a bit of shopping,
I have WI admin to do when I get back from lunch.
Have a good day.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 17-Feb-24 07:35:44

Morning all 👋

We have a beautiful sunrise, but I think we are due heavy rain later. I need to pop down the road to the butchers to pick up a chicken for dinner tomorrow, then pop into Aldi.

Early evening we will pick up GD (6) and her brother (4) and take them to dinner in the local Turkish restaurant. Then back to DS’s to get them into bed after numerous stories (DS & DiL are going out with the her Father and stepmother)

Have a great day everyone 🙋‍♀️

Grandmabatty Sat 17-Feb-24 07:40:21

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and damp. A Chinese takeaway sounds lovely Mick and a nice treat. Ash that sounds like a nice day ahead for you both. Susan Safe journey and safe journey home to Grammaretto who will be wending her way back to Scotland from New Zealand.
Yesterday the plans changed because dgs1 had been up with sickness and diarrhea and was still unwell so dd cancelled her hair appointment. I had a fruitless attempt at delivering wool to the community centre until I realised late last night I was trying to deliver to the wrong village! I felt very foolish. I visited dd and dgs2 was very glad to see me. Dgs1 was still in bed. Poor soul, he's had a rotten start to the year with one virus after another. In the afternoon I visited mum but only stayed twenty minutes. She slept most of the time.
Today I'm meeting a friend for breakfast at the local garden centre. It's our venue of choice because it's close to both of us. Thereafter I'll do the housework and washing. Before I meet her, I'll do a food shop at Aldi. I dried dd's sheets etc in my tumble dryer, so if she doesn't pick them up, I'll drop them off later. No idea what I'll have for dinner yet. Possibly an omelette. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Glasgow. I have no idea what our forecast is for today but so far, damp and cloudy.

I am meeting up with a cousin today at a nearby hotel whose large enclosed terrace with blankets and cushions do delicious coffee and cakes. Lots of blethering as usual and a chance to sit outside whatever the weather.

Have the best day possible all.

Beechnut Sat 17-Feb-24 07:47:53

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s damp and misty on the river.

I got all the work done that I wanted to do in the garden yesterday so am pleased about that. Had my lunch outside too.

Today I’ll put the slow cooker on and get rid of some more things no longer wanted.

Have a good day all 🌺

Good morning from W Kent. An online food delivery man cheered me up yesterday by saying I didn’t look my age (I do), I don’t know why they ask your dob is it a marketing thing?
DH still struggling with his bad back and leg, between the two of us we are now marooned at home. DD has invited us to lunch tomorrow but I think she will be collecting us.
Today pottering including washing and ironing. Roll on Spring.
Best wishes all round

Good morning all, it’s dry but dull at the moment in my corner of South Lanarkshire.

We took the children to soft play yesterday as a last day of school holiday treat. They both thoroughly enjoyed it and tired themselves out.

I’ve a few Brownie badges to sew on for one of DD’s girls, she saved them up for me.
grin

I’m meeting a couple of friends this afternoon for coffee and that’s the size of my plans for the day.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Marydoll Sat 17-Feb-24 07:50:09

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C. I really must get up, but DH has brought me a hot water bottle for my joints, I am quite happy to stay in bed!

Yesterday, I popped up to see DD with some flowers, an excuse to check up on her, as I am worried about her. Her face is still badly swollen, despite the antibiotics and I have urged her to seek advice.
I had forgotten what it is like to drive in our town and her village on a Friday afternoon. Thank goodness, my working days are over. It was like Wacky Races! Everyone seems to have forgotten their manners and the Highway Code!

Vigil Mass tonight and Babydoll is coming for lunch, which will be a tonic. She has started climbing up the furniture, we will need to batten down the hatches.

Enjoy your day folks.

GrannyIvy Sat 17-Feb-24 07:56:09

Good morning from cloudy mild Cambridgeshire. Having a shopping excursion to a retail outlet with my sister and DD2. Then home and a meal out with DH just the two of us to a local pub playing music tonight! Just wondering how new airfryer was Mick. We invested in a new updated one a few weeks back and on the whole successful. Have a good Saturday everyone.

brook2704 Sat 17-Feb-24 08:08:57

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it mild and dry, with more rain forecast for later though
Hope todays lunch is trouble free llfl!
We’re off out for a walk this morning, not sure where yet but it’ll be good to get out in the fresh air and stretch our legs. A coffee and cake stop will have be included somewhere too
Enjoy your meet up today Kalu sounds just perfect
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

cornergran Sat 17-Feb-24 08:28:15

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is bright at the moment, yellow warning of heavy rain from lunch time. Yuck.

Yesterday passed in a flash, an active volunteering morning, Tai Chi and a top up food shop in the afternoon. Oh yes, Mr C diverted us for a coffee after Tai Chi, think he sees it as his reward for going. Our goddaughter pendulum has swung again, a disturbing call came in the evening.

Other than lunch in a small garden centre no enjoyable plans for today. Must change the bed and catch up with admin I’ve been avoiding.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Jaxjacky Sat 17-Feb-24 08:29:55

Morning from an overcast S Hants, rain due much later. The knee continues its slow progress, so activity is limited., MrJ is doing a sterling job in support.
Enjoy your days out and visits with friends/family today.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I am late on parade today having had a good night’s sleep for a change! The weather is dreary and set to be wet all weekend. Both DD and DS phoned me for a chat yesterday - DD because she hadn’t seen me all week, and DS to say he would call in for “a quick coffee” after attending a football match on Sunday. Today is a blank page at the moment. I may fire up the laptop and have a go at scanning some photos.
Whatever you all have planned, enjoy your day, folks.

Alygran Sat 17-Feb-24 08:36:00

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s a bright start but forecast to rain later.
The jazz club was good last night. I wasn’t home till after 11, very late for me!
Village coffee morning today and a bit of ironing to do.
Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Sat 17-Feb-24 08:41:24

Good morning all from a dull but dry Black country.
Family back from short break in Wales today so may catch up with them later.
Friends coming this evening.
Usual Saturday full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
