Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its raining as well here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday , I did go and get a Chinese Take Away ,and my system as not played up so I body wise seem to be acting normal , even my weight is slowly creeping up .
It will be nice to look forward to those one day or holiday breaks which I have decided to start going on from April .
Its relaxing as well being a key for me as to my health .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a damp Bristol.
Yesterday, I started to assemble the commissioned quilt. It is looking nice, but now involves a lot of hand sewing.
One of the ladies at the church coffee has offered to take me to a craft/fabric shop in the next fortnight or so. Sounds great, and I’ll probably spend a fortune. As they say, you can’t take it with you. Besides, I spend very, very little on clothes.
Today, it’s church, then more sewing. I’m going to try and finish the quilt this week.
Have a blessed Sunday . Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, the rain is beating down on my windows, proper miserable weather

I shall finish my coat today, just the faced hem and hood facing are left to do. Then a good clean of my sewing room and machine. Its a mess up there

A bit of de-cluttering and not much else today except to read and spin

Have a good day

Llamas99 Sun 18-Feb-24 06:35:00

KarmaLady, hope you will show us your coat when it's completed. I always like to see your projects!

Good morning from Glasgow. No rain today and feeling a tad milder with a high of 10deg forecast.

Still awake at midnight, I received a message from GD1 at 12.02am, happy birthday granny♥️ see you later…from an 18yr old…on a Saturday night! 😂…precious girl. And, so, today is my 74th birthday. Good grief! No big celebrations but apart from thankfully sharing my day with DH, DD1 and her girls, other family members who also live in the environs of Glasgow will be popping in plus a FaceTime with DD2 and SiL in OZ. A perfect day.

Good news you are gaining some weight Mick
I would enjoy a visit to any craft shop GM.

Have a good Sunday all, especially those with ongoing troubling times whatever they may be.

Bellasnana Sun 18-Feb-24 06:52:01

Good morning from Malta where we are expecting a high of 19°C.

Many happy returns of the day Kalu, I hope you enjoy your day with your family. 🎂🥳💐

Yesterday I had a lovely surprise when DD3 and the boys came round for a couple of hours. Made my day.

No plans today apart from tennis at 3.30pm. Might go to Mass but I have an annoying tickly cough which can be so embarrassing when one is supposed to be quiet!

Have a good day all.☀️

Good morning from rainy Cornwall. I love the sound of rain on my patio, oddly comforting. Not so much the puddle on my kitchen floor from a leak in the flat roof. 😁

Couldn't breathe properly yesterday morning so completed the 111 questionnaire. A doctor rang me straight away and an ambulance came within 15 minutes. Good old NHS. Hilarious moment when I could hear the paramedics making strange noises downstairs as they lifted all the big rubber mats, hunting for the hidden front door key having not been given my directions properly. Anyway, all my tests were fine and the diagnosis was 'Some sort of virus; there are a lot of weird, new ones about.' The worst thing was I couldn't have my little grandson over for his woodworking session.

Today I've promised my family I'll rest, which is a nuisance as my breathing seems fine, so I'd better find some sewing to do. My daughter-in-law is delivering a roast dinner this afternoon, oh yum. 😍

Morning Mick, morning All from a very wet corner of Somerset. A new flood alert for this area.

Enjoyed our lunch yesterday. As the rain had arrived we decided against an outdoor walk and instead wandered a local museum. Enough afternoon left to sort a couple of tedious things via the computer and spend an enjoyable time with email. Suspect today will be a quiet one. Too wet to venture out, beyond tired of grey and wet, our low lying garden is sodden, bulbs have rotted and several plants need water wings.

Wishing you a very happy birthday kalu, sounds perfect. 🎂🥂🎈🎁

It will soon be April mick, lots to look forward to.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Mizuna Sun 18-Feb-24 06:56:17

Happy birthday Kalu! 🎁🎈

Good morning from a mild, damp Torbay where sunshine is promised later.

Last night's tribute act (Lionel Richie) was an excellent evening's entertainment with dancers adding to the spectacle. The theatre was almost full and it was good to see people who are not regular patrons.

Good news about you being able to have takeaways without repercussions, Mick and making plans for trips.
Happy birthday, Kalu; sounds like a lovely day is planned.
I’m so glad you had such prompt attention, Mizuna, and hope you are feeling better today.
I sometimes suck throat sweets to avoid coughing in church or theatre, Bellasnana; I know how awkward it can feel when the urge to cough strikes!

I'm playing for the 9.30 service again so must get moving. A blessed Sunday to all. 🦩💐✝️🥰🦩

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, we’ve had some lovely warm and sunny days lately, I almost forgot it was still Winter.
Good news Mick great for you to get back to normal, planning days out.
Happy birthday Kalu have a lovely day.
Dog day today with her usual overnight stay so we will have wet walks or a dog who will probably refuse to go out. We can never tell which way she will go.
I have some silver and copper things to polish today and a very old sewing machine to check over before it’s all donated. Cleared a bookshelf yesterday as well.
Shopping delivery later and that’s my day, chicken stew/soup made last night so no cooking either.
Have a good day everyone, dodge those raindrops!

Susan56 Sun 18-Feb-24 07:29:12

A long day yesterday but it was good to meet up with my nephews and nieces. We called to see my mum on the way home who was delighted to see the grandchildren.

A quiet day planned today🤞🏻

Good morning from a soggy hillside in south Glos.
Happy birthday Kalu, I hope you have a lovely day 🎂💐
I finished sorting the cupboard on the landing yesterday, all is neat and tidy. This morning I will tackle the under sink cupboard and one other in the kitchen.
I really want to do some drawing today, I haven’t done any now for a week despite my best intentions so that’s the plan for today.
I hope DH will walk the dog, if not that’s the first thing I will do this morning, wellies and waterproofs are ready!
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Greyduster Sun 18-Feb-24 07:41:10

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp South Yorkshire. It’s very mild again. Yesterday I wasted almost an entire afternoon on the phone trying to buy some premium bonds. The process went from the sublime to the ridiculous via an interrogation with MI5 before we got there in the end.
DD and the menfolk are coming for lunch today, but haven’t said what time; DS is coming down for a football match and will “pop in” before he goes home. I have no idea whether that means lay another place at the table or just put the kettle on for a quick cuppa! All will be revealed in the fullness of time. I could do with a crystal ball!
Enjoy a very Happy Birthday, Kalu!🎂🎉💐
Have the best day you can, folks.

brook2704 Sun 18-Feb-24 07:47:48

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s much milder at about 7º with a high of 11º forecast. Hopefully spring is definitely on its way, even up here!
A very Happy Birthday Kalu sounds like a wonderful day is planned, enjoy every minute! 🎂🎉💐🥂
Yesterday we had a really good walk along the beach at Nairn and sat with a takeaway coffee just looking at the sea... Today I think I’ll try to fit a short walk in this morning and then get out in the garden this afternoon.

Pittcity Sun 18-Feb-24 07:49:53

Good morning from rainy Colchester. The rain has not been as heavy as forecast but prolonged. It's mild so it feels humid.
No football or rugby today for the DGSs. We will pop over though as they are going away for half term and DGS1 wants to borrow a particular fishing rod.

Happy birthday Kalu and love to all 🦩 x

brook2704 Sun 18-Feb-24 07:50:10

Good morning from a wet W Kent. DD2 is cooking lunch for us today and DS is collecting us as DH still struggling with back and leg pain. Looking forward to seeing three of the GC.
Happy birthday Kalu
*Mizuna pleased you received prompt attention.
Take care everyone

Whitewavemark2 Sun 18-Feb-24 08:02:34

Good morning from a very wet South Downs.

We had an unexpected visit from our son yesterday, so we were able go get him to sort out some tech stuff that had defeated us. One thing was a little white button with an apple logo, - one of the GS had given it as part of a Christmas present, and we were clueless as to how to use it. Now all set up🙂. DH can carry it alongside his heart spray stuff snd if he is out too long I can track him by this button. He always forgets his phone - so I can watch on the map of his whereabouts and that he is still moving and not worry. Big brother!!

Our Christmas amaryllis - 4 huge bulbs - have been outstanding this year - in fact they are on their third bloom, so I must start to feed them up and hopefully they will do as well next year. I think it is tomato feed or maybe seaweed feed - I must look it up.

I have half a dozen dahlias to start - I have the pots, just waiting for a compost delivery tomorrow. Hopefully the greenhouse will be warm enough.

Looking at the weather, it is a day in today, after our morning walk. DH does the afternoon walking shift. (I shall be watching😄😄)

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony to the world.

Marydoll Sun 18-Feb-24 08:04:10

Good morning all from Glasgow its 7°C.

Many happy returns Kalu.

I'm glad to hear you had prompt attention, Mizuna. I think once you phone 111 and say you have breathing difficulties, they send you to hospital. It has happened to me, all I wanted was permission to open my Rescue Pack! Take it easy today.

We had a lovely visit from Babydoll, gosh she never stopped moving about and trying to climb, I was exhausted!
What a cheeky wee character, she has become. She reminds me so much of my son, not only in looks, but hyperactivity energy.
We don't see as much of her, as wee did of Dollie and I worry I won't have the same bond. However, when DS strapped her into her car seat, she started crying when I said, "Bye, bye". 💕
She does love her gran after all. 😉

I would prefer to stay in bed, but I have a few things to do at church. I have had to start wearing my ankle support and wrist splints again, they are so restricting and do not match my outfit. 😉
However, I will see my beloved Dollie, so it will be worth it.

Karma, I'm another, who would like to see your coat. Like GM, you are a very talented lady.

Have a good day folks.

Gingster Sun 18-Feb-24 08:04:27

Good morning all and I can hear a drip drip drip in my conservatory . Oh dear!

Dh is very poorly, not right at all. I’ll see how he goes and try for a docs appointment in the morning. He refuses to go but I’ll do my best.😤.
I have a 90th birthday party to go to this afternoon, so Dd will stay with her dad for a couple of hours.

Happy birthday Kalu . Sounds like you’ll have a lovely day. 1950 was a very good year! 😉

Mizuna how awful for you. Hope you’re feeling much better 🙏.
Greyduster I recently bought premium bonds and did it on line. I didn’t hold out much hope but it was quick and easy. I’m usually ‘unlucky
/hopeless’ with these procedures.

Hoping you all have a pleasant/good day.🙏

baubles Sun 18-Feb-24 08:12:31

Good morning from dull, grey South Lanarkshire.

Kalu, happy birthday to you, enjoy every moment of your ‘at home’.

Glad you’re feeling a bit better Mizuna.

The two friends I had coffee with yesterday are very sadly each dealing with entirely different horrible situations with adult children. Very little I can say or do to help except be there to listen. Life can be so difficult sometimes.

Mass this morning then brunch with DH after which I may choose a film to watch whilst I crack on with my crocheted daffodils.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Alygran Sun 18-Feb-24 08:17:38

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy and grey.
Church this morning then lunch club in the village pub. There’s going to be 7 of us today.
Happy birthday Kalu
Have a good day everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 18-Feb-24 08:18:08

Morning all from a grey wet S E Essex

Happy Birthday Kalu 🎂🎉
Take it easy Mizuna
Oh dear Gingster that’s another worry for you with DH

I have a friend popping in for a catch up
this afternoon. DD and the GC are coming for dinner (roast chicken), nothing else on the agenda.

Have a good day everyone 🙋‍♀️
