Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its raining as well here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday , I did go and get a Chinese Take Away ,and my system as not played up so I body wise seem to be acting normal , even my weight is slowly creeping up .
It will be nice to look forward to those one day or holiday breaks which I have decided to start going on from April .
Its relaxing as well being a key for me as to my health .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a damp, grey Co Durham.
I’m out of the loop after 5 days in the NW visiting my dsis.
We didn’t do much at all. We talked, laughed and cried and it was wonderful.
After worrying about the train journeys all was well ( apart from struggling up and down the station stairs). One of the trains was full of football supporters, fortunately they only travelled three stops, but were in good voice.
I’m very stiff after sitting for four hours so will go on my exercise bike this morning.
Happy Birthday, Kalu. Mizuna glad you got such prompt treatment.
Have a good Sunday everyone.

Jaxjacky Sun 18-Feb-24 08:35:53

Morning from a soggy S Hants, 11, very mild.
Happy Birthday Kalu 🎂🎉🥂.
Good you have trips booked Mick.
Scary Mizuna hopefully you’ll feel better today.
My knee is now getting me down, I’ll try and see a GP tomorrow.

Good morning from a very wet Suffolk where there was no incentive to get up to face a grey dull day. I’ll read your posts later when I’ve had my second cup of tea.

Luckily I made the most of the lovely weather yesterday and enjoyed time in the garden where there is so many signs of an emerging spring.

I have another all day Teams meeting on Wednesday so I can spend most of today reading some of the paperwork in preparation for it. Apart from that and catch ups on the phone with the AC it will be a day of hunkering down and avoiding the flooded and very muddy lanes.

DS has been staying overnight and has just brought me a mug of tea, such a treat, before setting off on a wet run, so I must get in the shower while he is out. He is excellent company and has agreed with me that my iPad is ready for replacing (we think it’s eight years old and very sluggish) so a new one arrives tomorrow. Hope transferring data is as easy as he says it is!

DS will head for home after an early lunch so the rest of the day will be quiet apart from Olive the cat who has found her voice and has much to say about life as meal times draw near. I am not starving her but you would not believe that if you heard her.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. There's a blue sky above. Kalu a very happy birthday to you. Mizuna I'm glad you got prompt help. I hope the symptoms subside quickly. Gingster you have such a lot of difficulty to deal with 💐.
Yesterday I met a friend for breakfast and we had a good blether. In the afternoon I cleared out all my dvds and CDs ready for the charity shop. I haven't used them for five years so it's time they went. All the housework was done too.
Today I'm meeting a friend for morning coffee. We haven't had a proper catch up since last summer because she suffers from crippling sciatica. It'll be nice to see her for an hour. I'll visit mum in the afternoon. I have a slow cooker chicken casserole with dumplings to make too. DD has just got in touch to say she's been really sick in the night. She's picked up dgs1's virus. I hope the rest of the family escape it. Have a good day t

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is mild and wet.
I arrived home yesterday morning after an epic journey from NZ. I'd spent the night before my flight, vomiting and suffering a fall on my face followed by a bad nosebleed. I nearly cancelled but the thought of rearranging was worse so here I am.smile

Still without my phone which was lost on the first flight out in January, but I've had lots of sleep and hope to retrieve my energy levels again and begin to read the 800+ emails in the in-box.
There must have been some storms here as the fence has blown over and the wheely bins have crossed the garden.

Happy birthday Kalu. Have a lovely day with your dear family.cupcake

DD and DS1 say they'll call round today.

Hope the day brings joy to you all.

🎼Down came the rain in torrents. Splish Splash 🎼 overnight here in Sefton. The ground is sodden. It feels very mild.
A quiet day today. No plans but would like to get into the garden which is in need of a good tidy. It is very squelchy underfoot out there. I slow cooked a gammon joint yesterday so no real cooking needed today, just a matter of 'assembling' our dinner this evening. I might attempt a Tuscan bean soup for lunch which again is mostly 'assembling' the salient parts & chucking it all in a big pan. With luck there'll be enough for tomorrow's lunch.
Happy Birthday Kalu. Sounds like a lovely family day for you. Look after yourself Mizuna. Glad to hear you're feeling better, breathlessness is scary. Well done the NHS. Take care all.

Grandmabatty Sun 18-Feb-24 09:06:33

Welcome home Grammaretto.

Urmstongran Sun 18-Feb-24 09:07:25

Oh Grammaretto you have been in the wars. I think you were brave to travel such a long distance on your own too. I bet you feel battered and bruised just now. I do hope your phone turns up at home.

Many happy returns of the day to you Kalu. 🍾🥂

Whilst I’m here, here’s Matt. 😁
Hoping we all have a good Sunday.

Good morning from a very wet East Midlands. Good to hear you are on the mend Mick. A lovely ride out yesterday with my youngest son. One month tomorrow since the hysterectomy. An afternoon of knitting a sweater. Take care everyone.

EkwaNimitee Sun 18-Feb-24 09:17:39

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle where we might actually get some sun shortly.
Yesterday morning, I popped out to Sainsbury's and refuelled whilst I was there, started the car again and got a loud, weird noise. I switched off then on again a few moments later and it was gone. Was it something to do with refuelling or the consequences of hitting a pothole on the way ? The car was ok going home but I'm going to have words with the garage tomorrow.
Once home, I had a long phone chat with my sister then went out in the garden for an hour of pruning roses and buddleia. It didn't help my already dodgy back....
It came on to rain heavily in the afternoon so I read the weekend papers and brushed up my Spanish.
Today will be a lazy one to look after my back and recover from a broken night's sleep.

Mizuna I hope you are soon recovered. There are some weird bugs about as confirmed by my surgery nurse. I've had one, probably caught on the journey back from Surrey at Christmas. It didn't involve scary breathing problems though.

Wishing your DH a speedy recovery Gingster.

And hoping you all have the best possible day.

Slept in this morning, so it's a later.good morning everyone from a damp but brightening Northampton.

Such good news yesterday! My DNephew had the call to go straight to hospital as they had found a kidney for him! He has been on dialysis 2/3 times weekly, and found it difficult as he is almost completely deaf, and has learning difficulties, bless.him. I have heard from my DBrother (his dad) this morning, all went well with the op, and the kidney was a match.

Am meeting fellow GNetter RosiesMaw this afternoon at our arts Filmhouse here in Northampton and we are seeing the Rodgers and Hammerstein 80th Anniversary concert, which was recorded before Christmas. An afternoon of glorious music, and good company!

Not read the thread yet, but hope all your Sunday plans go well.

Purplepixie Sun 18-Feb-24 09:37:45

Oh BlueSapphire - that sounds fabulous.

Happy birthday Kalu

Love to all of you who are unwell or suffering in some shape or form.

brook2704 Sun 18-Feb-24 09:45:35

Welcome home Grammarettto I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday with lots of happy memories made. Well done with the travelling, it’s such a long way on your own and especially if you’re not feeling 100%

Sorry to hear your DH is feeling so poorly Gingster hope he picks up a bit soon 💐

Harris27 Sun 18-Feb-24 10:24:09

Good morning all. Glad you’re doing well mick. Sunny day in the ne. Doing some tidying and may venture into the garden for early tidy. Have tomorrow off so will do some today and some tomorrow. Hubby helping son number three as usual he gets out of tidying the garden. Family first though. Been away to Birmingham with son number one to the camping and motor home show we can only dream! Have a lovely day all.

Taichinan Sun 18-Feb-24 10:29:25

Good morning all. It's a glorious day here on the Angus coast - 9° now and forecast to rise to 12° with wall-to-wall sunshine all day. This should be a day to remember! I've had my breakfast sitting in the front south-facing sun porch, which is unheated other than by the sun and I'm actually too warm and have had to open the outside door!
My 'famous' first daffodil, which comes into bloom each year around 9th March, looks as if it might not be able to last that long before doing so. Climate change/global warming has a lot of unpleasant things to answer for, but I'm happy to accept the early blooming of flowers and shrubs.
Happy Birthday 🎈 🎂 Kalu. Have a day filled with love.
That breathlessness must have been very frightening Mizuna and so glad you received prompt attention from 111. There do seem to be more viruses about for some reason - I hope you feel better soon, if not already. How lovely to have such an attentive family close around you.
I'm glad your Chinese meal didn't have any repercussions Mick - that's a great step in the right direction.
Welcome home Grammaretto after your mammoth journey. It's always lovely to be home, isn't it. Enjoy all those happy memories you have made.
Karma that coat has a lovely style and I'm sure you will have made it beautifully.
Now I really must be off - although sitting in warm sun here, with a cooling little breeze fanning through the open door, feels too good to move away from to a cool north-facing kitchen!
Have a lovely day everyone x

Taichinan Sun 18-Feb-24 10:32:13

I meant to say, sorry about your DH feeling so poorly Gingster flowers. Hope he feels better soon.

Georgesgran Sun 18-Feb-24 10:48:25

A very late good morning from a glorious springlike North East.
Been to watch DGS1 have his swimming lesson and just parked at MetroCentre to stock up with a bit of food shopping at M&S - coffee and cake beckons first.
I’ll read through the thread later.
Best wishes to all. X

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 18-Feb-24 11:58:47

A rather late morning all from me. I’m still feeling a bit under the weather but better than yesterday when I had to cancel my lunch date.
My brother in Australia rang this morning. Rather than the major heart surgery he was expecting he had a pace maker fitted. He and his partner are staying with my sister for a few days and will go back to Port McQuarrie next week. He looked well and seemed to have more energy already.
I am doing old fashioned gammon with parsley sauce for dinner. Old friends cooked this for our lunch the other week so I’m inspired to make my own version. I think pudding will be something steamed in a bowl, but I’m not sure what yet.
Some of you are certainly having difficulties. I hope today is better.🌹

Kalu Sun 18-Feb-24 12:08:06

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. They are much appreciated and have brightened my day along with the sun which has just made an appearance. 🌷

Scapa1 Sun 18-Feb-24 13:31:19

Happy birthday Kalu

Llamas99 Sun 18-Feb-24 21:31:58

Karma, lovely coat love the 'shaped' aspect and the zippers! I'm short also so struggle for clothes to fit!
