Does anyone have a favourite Easter egg ? My son's love the peanut butter ones. I love the wispa ones and my daughter...., Anything as long as it has chocolate ! .Hubby can't have as he's diabetic. Yes I know it's weeks till Easter, but it's just something fun to talk about.

So, do people like their chocolate cold, from the fridge, so it makes a cracking sound when you break it, or all soft and bendy and melty at room temperature?

Oooooo, cold thin snappy chocolate (this is not helping me resist)!

I'm not really a chocolate eater (meaning of course I'll eat it, if it's there)

Soft and squidgy or cold and snappy, though.

I can't decide.

Used to love a cadbury egg but i no longer by cadbury chocolate since all their recipes have changed.

As a small child my grandad, who lived next door, used to lift me and my sister in through his lounge window and give us "treats". In the weeks leading up to Easter these were little Easter eggs filled with soft caramel. They were wonderful. Later I loved various Cadbury's eggs but I went off Cadbury's chocolate a good few years ago as it just didn't taste right any more. Now Galaxy or Lindt eggs are my favourite. I was never a fan of Thorntons eggs. As my birthday falls on Easter weekend I think I might expect at least one egg.😋

I bought a small Cadbury's one today as I passed through the supermarket on my way to pick up prescriptions. It will not last the weekend.
My mother will be turning in her grave.

It’s Bettys GSM I think they’re quite well known?

Oh Bettys! I can smell the hot buttered tea cakes.

My husband usually buys a big posh Hotel Chocolat egg, I would much rather have a Cadbury's cream egg or several.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 23-Feb-24 22:08:22

You wouldn’t want to break into them would you, NS? However, give me something savoury rather than sweet any day.

MissAdventure Fri 23-Feb-24 22:08:28

I don't like any of the posh chocs.
I regularly get the Hotel Chocolat chocolates, and I can't stand them, but don't like to say.

I’ve got no self control with an Easter egg me, none at all😁
Once I’ve started I have to finish it, all of it.DP buys me one and has to hide it or it would be gone long before Easter.
All makes are welcome.

Bought myself an orange twirl egg today...half price 🙂

I love Kennedy’s Chocolate Factory Easter eggs, I buy them online if we’re not going to be near the shop in Orton.

Granmarderby10 Fri 23-Feb-24 23:25:03

I still think that a milk chocolate Easter egg tastes more yummy than its’ * bar*counterpart.
Love that crack! Childish I know..
….did love Bassetts Jelly Babies but they are Maynard’s now and nowhere near as juicy. WHY? 😥

NotSpaghetti Fri 23-Feb-24 23:39:53

No you wouldn't GSM - but to be honest my weaknesses are also savoury - in my case "good" bread, crackers, cheese, crisps, olives, nuts...

Skye17 Fri 23-Feb-24 23:43:00

Not an egg but my favourite Easter chocolate.

I remember those gorgeous Easter eggs with sugar flowers on them .
My mother and I tried making them .
We found that we'd have to use cooking chocolate to get them out of the moulds .
They looked beautiful , but tasted awful .
So we stopped .
I looked for the moulds recently and conclude that Mum must have thrown them away .

I prefer a Terry's chocolate orange or a Lindt bunny for Easter as the chocolate used to make Esster eggs doesn't always taste nice .

annodomini Sat 24-Feb-24 10:08:36

A box of good chocolates is much better value than an Easter egg . I wait in vain!

Joseann Sat 24-Feb-24 10:13:12

I'll eat pretty much any of them.

If anyone sees a white chocolate egg in one of the shops, can they let me know please. My DGD only eats white and I'm having difficulty finding one.

Jaxjacky Sat 24-Feb-24 10:39:51

Tesco have a few Joseann from Lindt to Milky Bar, Malteser (with white truffles) and Cadbury.

Joseann Thu 29-Feb-24 16:44:35

Thanks Jaxjacky. I've been on a mission. The white Lindt one looked nice, but was £12.50!! Milky Bar Chocolate isn't her favourite. Still looking for the Malteser one, though I did find this Thorntons one for £4.50.
What a palaver.

Elless Thu 29-Feb-24 16:50:06

Got to be Cadbury's, put it in a small bag, smash to pieces and put it in the freezer - heaven 🐣🍫

TwiceAsNice Thu 29-Feb-24 16:53:56

Got to be cold from the fridge but I prefer plain chocolate to milk. We are going away for Easter, us and two other families sharing a large house , I’m thinking of buying everyone a little chocolate surprise .

Cossy Thu 29-Feb-24 17:01:08

Mini eggs large Easter Eggs please! However this year one of our lovely daughters has bought us all a box of Hotel Chocolate chocolates for Easter and foolishly given them to us already 🐷🐷🐽🐽
