I didn’t think dogs were allowed in Waitrose 😳

I was shopping in a large Waitrose today in Henley on Thames. Two men were in the store with a large Alsatian, not a guide dog. One of the Store personnel was talking to them and I assumed there were being told to leave the store, however this didn’t happen.

On looking closer at the chap in the woolly hat I realised it was Russell Brand and another chap who I recognised but can’t name.

No one challenged him, maybe they didn’t dare.

No worries Callistemon.

To be honest the employee appeared to be a bit of an airhead and I believe he hadn’t heard of RB. However in my usual way of saying what I want, I explained that he had charges pending for attacks on women.

The other two assistants who joined in the conversation were quite supportive of me.

When I caught up with DH he asked what I had been up to this time 😀

Sorry - NanKate

Thank you for the update NanKste and for your persistence

The employee said he had never heard of RB
Love it 😁

He doesn’t live here.

Iam64 Fri 05-Apr-24 08:50:10

I’m not suggesting you’re telling lies PamelaJ, more expressing concern that any well brought up do would pee indoors. One of the reasons it’s easy to house train dogs is their dislike of toileting where they live

PamelaJ1 Fri 05-Apr-24 06:56:38

They do in my house. At least one does. Why would I lie about that?

Iam64 Thu 04-Apr-24 21:37:27

Pamelaj - gsm is correct - dogs bc don’t per o doors ~. Unless their owners haven’t trained them properly. My youngest dog is my 12th dog. None of them peed indoors by 12 weeks of age

Dogs don’t pee indoors nanna.

So wrong….my friend has one that peed in my house, I thought it was a one off but he did it again next time he visited.
I don’t have a dog so he didn’t need to mark ‘his territory’.
I bought some spray stuff and keep a beady eye on him now.

Exactly a celeb or not rules are rules in my book and I would have complained but then I seem to be turning into a grumpy old woman these days🙈. I would not recognise a celeb I am sure and if I did I would treat them the same as anyone else in the store and expect them to respect shop rules!!

Yes, good for you.

MissAdventure Thu 04-Apr-24 13:46:36

Ooh, I hope Russell comes in while you're there, again. smile

He had better not, if he knows what's good for him!

Good for you.

A bit of an update !

I was in Henley on Thames Waitrose today and I saw the employee who spoke to Russell Brand about this large Alsatian being in the store. 😳

I asked to speak to the employee as it was my first opportunity to see why RB, his friend who I still can’t identify and the dog were in the shop for so long. They did no shopping that I could see.

The employee said he had never heard of RB but did agree ‘eventually’ he was the one who spoke to him. He said he must have been shown a document which allows some dogs admittance. I’ve forgotten what he called the document.

They said I could speak to the Assistant Manager which I thought was a good idea, but then they said he was in a Meeting. I didn’t believe them.

I warned them that if RB came in again with his dog in my presence I would insist of speaking to senior management a ‘cause a fuss’ until he was removed. I told them I was of an age that I said what I thought and was not frightened of senior management.

So that’s about it FOR NOW.

My family has lived in Essex since at least the 1500s. I moved back there when I remarried, until I retired. I don’t wear white shoes or fake tan either. Neither does my husband, who was born there and speaks ‘proper like’. I would be a bit worried if he wore fake tan or white shoes …

MissAdventure Thu 29-Feb-24 17:19:39

I know.
I'm in Essex myself! 🙂

Cossy Thu 29-Feb-24 17:19:14

Or should that now be the King’s?

Cossy Thu 29-Feb-24 17:18:52

MissAdventure

Yes, but a lot of people move on from Essex, once they're famous.

It makes ya well jell!
(Said in an essex accent)

Oi! No all us hailing from Essex are fake tanned, white shoed babes, who cannot speak the queens English 😂😂😂😂

MissAdventure Thu 29-Feb-24 17:17:07

That's him.
He looks more odd shaped in the head department in some of his pics.

petra Thu 29-Feb-24 17:15:59

MissAdventure

George Rains?
I can't upload a pic, I seem to have lost the ability.

Is this the same George Rains.

MissAdventure Thu 29-Feb-24 17:14:04

Yes, but a lot of people move on from Essex, once they're famous.

Perhaps it was his dealer?

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Certainly wasn’t his dresser!

Callistemon21 Thu 29-Feb-24 17:11:55

Oh, but this is Henley-on-Thames (she said in a posh voice)
