I’ll be meeting up with my two daughters for a nice lunch. Looking forward to it.

Another of those media inventions which I can thenkfully opt out of.

What media invention is that then? 🙄

henetha don't be sad for me.

I had years of being with my children on Mother's day - it's their turn to be spoilt now. And, I know they won't forget me.

All my children and grandchildren are coming to lunch - which I am providing and cooking.......but I'm definitely not clearing up!

One of my DDs has invited me round for lunch, and also her local sister. I have pointed out that they are all Mums and need some spoiling - I am making a cake.

Mothering Sunday lunch with my youngest son and daughter in law. So pleased he always calls it by the correct name.

Lunch out with both daughters the eldest is also celebrating her birthday so all her children and GC will join us. I’ll be a little sad too as my younger brother died 3 days ago I might raise a glass to him.

Tanith condolences.

Luckygirl3 Sat 09-Mar-24 15:11:31

Sorry to hear that Tanith. I hope you will all be able to find a moment to remember him.

If I’m lucky I’ll get a card but I’m not holding my breath. Ever since my son has had children of his own he tends to ignore Mother’s Day. When he was at uni years ago he even used to arrange for his dad to deliver some flowers to me. Might get a card from my daughter.

Sorry for the confusion, I rarely use these acronyms, now I know why.
Sad news tanith my condolences.

Urmstongran Sat 09-Mar-24 16:48:27

💐 for you tanith.

tanith Sat 09-Mar-24 16:48:50

Thanks everyone, sorry I didn’t mean to spoil the joy of Mother’s Day.

Judy54 Sat 09-Mar-24 16:57:24

Definitely not a media invention. I remember us celebrating Mother's Day when I was a child. Although we do not have children, Mr J and I will join in the Mother's day service at our lovely village church tomorrow recognising those who are Mothers and lighting candles for our Mothers who are no longer with us. It will I am sure be an uplifting service as always.

merlotgran Sat 09-Mar-24 17:12:00

Mother’s Day was today for me as DGS is moving house tomorrow so the family will all be helping him.

We went to Mottisfont Abbey and gardens in Hampshire for a lovely walk and look around the house followed by lunch at a nearby pub.

I’m now enjoying a cup of tea with my feet up and Peggy on my lap.

Perfick!

My condolences, tanith
