Sussex versus Prince of Wales.

Tonight William and Harry are delivering award in recognition of their mother in what seems to be a carefully choreographed event, that keeps them apart. But….
Today Meghan has announced her new ventures and whilst William is being centre stage, the Sussexes (?) have announced a large cash award from archewell.

Why? Do they not realise that people know that the timing is deliberate. Who is driving this spiteful behaviour. It’s all so unnecessary in my humble opinion.

I’ll retire behind settee now with my tin hat on awaiting the chorus of oh no not Meghan and Harry again!

Cossy it can't be mere coincidence that Harry and/or Meghan announce or launch something on exactly the same day that there is a "significant happening" involving others in the RF. A date that has been known about in advance. Once might be an unfortunate occurrence, but multiple times smacks of intent.

I think most people are saddened by the rift between two brothers who were once very close, but it remains that only one of them issues accusations and condemnation publicly. It is a very big bridge that will need building.

The “significant happening” was honouring BOTH son’s mother’s awards! Clearly at least one of those sons was ok with the timing. It could indeed be a coincident. I think people are making much about nothing!

Yes on this occasion it was both sons' mother's awards, but on other occasions it hasn't been.

No other members of the RF have published books, given interviews etc where they have trashed Harry and/or Meghan. That's a very big difference between the brothers. I'm surprised you can't see that.

I’m not supporting their interviews nor the books, I’m simply stating that Harry and William are two completely different people, with very different roles and William is surrounded by advisers (no problem with this) and Harry clearly made some atrocious decisions.

I just don’t believe everything I read or hear about any of the RF, nor do I believe H&M are toxic and evil.

I see two adult grandchildren meting out similar behaviour to their formerly much-loved paternal grandparents, now seriously ill, (neighbours) following the break up of their parents''marriage due to their mother's adultery and the installation of the new man in the family home.
How these grandchildren can behave so badly towards their grandparents, seven houses away, is beyond me.

Anniebach Fri 15-Mar-24 11:34:48

Surely Harry didn’t need advisers to advise on his choosing to write his book ?

merlotgran Fri 15-Mar-24 11:35:53

They might just as well scrap the Diana Awards ceremony. It’s just another convenient battlefield for H&M to launch their missiles.

There were two last night, Meghan’s new lifestyle thingy where she will no doubt use her title to flog stuff and presenting their own Archewell award just before William was due to appear.

I doubt their late mother would be impressed. 🤫

I’m sorry, I don’t understand your post.
Who was the new man installed in the family home?
Who is seriously ill? If King Charles, he is the father , not the grandfather.
meeting out similar behaviour to their formerly much loved grandparents, now seriously ill are you speaking of when the late queen and PP were ill?

I’m sory, I’m confused by your post.

I wouldn’t think so. Diana had many faults but she was never spiteful.

nanna8 Fri 15-Mar-24 11:45:53

That was an answer to merlotgran post.

Smileless2012 Fri 15-Mar-24 12:01:56

I think her missile may have missed it's target merlotgran. I knew about the Diana awards but only found about her M's new lifestyle thingy and an Archewell award her on GN.

Of course if she'd thought about it, she'd have realised that far from taking the spotlight from her b.i.l., if that was her intention, she's attempted to take the spotlight from an awards ceremony in memory of his, and her own husband's mother.

An own goal perhaps.

Joseann Fri 15-Mar-24 12:03:10

I think H & M's PR machine is far more polished than that of the RF, so of course, it looks like they are omnipresent.

We met some Americans on holiday who told us how lovely they thought it was that the then baby was called Lilibet. Once we explained the crass nature of this incredibly tactless, tasteless thing to do they were appalled.

I don’t know any of them but I am aware the media does make money from whipping up their never ending reports about them.
I do know they aren’t the only ones to use the name linked to the late Queen. I’d do a link but I’ve spent too much time here already!

Well you wouldn’t have thought so! But as he chose to perhaps he does need to seek advice! grin

Oh god not another bitchfest. Anyone would think that Meghan had released an enhanced photo of herself and her children.

Boz Fri 15-Mar-24 12:34:18

Can't wait to try her marmalade. Bitter and Acidic.

Oh but she was to Tiggy Legge-Bourke, the nanny Charles employed when they separated!

Actually, hate to disagree, Diana did have a spiteful streak I’m afraid.

I think she’d be very conflicted if she was still alive, and if she was still with us it’s entirely possibly this whole fiasco would never have happened!

Quite like a slightly bitter marmalade!

You might like to research the comments from the photographer who took the one of a barefoot Harry/pregnant Meghan beneath the tree before jumping on that particular bandwagon…

Anniebach Fri 15-Mar-24 12:40:50

I agree Cossy Diana was spiteful, but she was suffering with
mental illness which can truly affect emotions.

CoolCoco Fri 15-Mar-24 12:49:19

So both M and C are fakes when it comes to photos...

Anniebach Fri 15-Mar-24 12:53:15

Difference between the photographs, only one professional photographer

Yes, I agree

Kate1949 Fri 15-Mar-24 13:27:41

I'd be pretty spiteful if I married a man who used me as a baby making machine while being in love with someone else.

Not sure I agree with ‘suffering with mental illness’, but were it true, it doesn’t seem to engender any sympathy?!

I think she had a privileged, but perhaps loveless, upbringing, and responded to Charles supposed affection. He then seemed to make it very clear that he did not love her, and so she became unhappy / frustrated ( not the same as mental illness)
