Sussex versus Prince of Wales.

Tonight William and Harry are delivering award in recognition of their mother in what seems to be a carefully choreographed event, that keeps them apart. But….
Today Meghan has announced her new ventures and whilst William is being centre stage, the Sussexes (?) have announced a large cash award from archewell.

Why? Do they not realise that people know that the timing is deliberate. Who is driving this spiteful behaviour. It’s all so unnecessary in my humble opinion.

I’ll retire behind settee now with my tin hat on awaiting the chorus of oh no not Meghan and Harry again!

A fact that someone said something doesn’t make that something a fact.

“When did Charles and Camilla start sleeping together?

1986: According to Prince Charles's authorized biography, Prince of Wales by Jonathan Dimbleby, this is when Charles and Camilla's affair began. Diana soon discovers the transgression and confronts Camilla at a birthday party in 1989.” 5 May 2023

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I think some people on here have a very flexible view on what constitutes a 'fact', which they conveniently twist to suit their own agenda (and not just on this thread).

Anniebach Fri 15-Mar-24 16:19:40

I repeated what Charles said to Dimbleby, i repeated a fact

No, that’s not a fact. We have no idea if what someone said is true or not.

Well I'm going to do my up-most to look at this new initiatives in the best possible light.

Firstly, if this new influencer website is to be moulded in the manner of Goop, let us all be grateful there's been no talk of the steaming of private parts, thankfully Gwyneth has that covered, or maybe I should say uncovered.

Secondly let's not forget the Duchy of Cornwall launched quite a few delicious products of their own, so there's no reason why The Duchessy can't do the same.

Here's a sneak preview of what's on offer.

Obviously, during her time in England, Meghan will have acquainted herself of just how popular marmalade is and I think she will have put much effort into producing her own brand, The excellent "My Truth Marmalade" range is redolent of both Meghan and Harry insomuch as being both rich and bitter. Moving on to the The Third Second Man range, the Harry Lime Marmalade will not be to everyone's taste, initially sweet but with pithy undertones.

Other products worth a mention would be " No one Ever Asked Me How I Am" Nut Butters, absolutely delicious spread thickly on the "Thanks For Asking" Thins

The Porky Pies, which come in a range of sizes will no doubt be a great success and would be most appropriate for those cosy sit down "lets talk about the family interviews", when a larger Porky Pie could be shared out with whoever is hosting, although it would have to be borne in mind that certain interviewers maybe prone to choke on such a delicacy when expressing faux amazement to startling revelations where there's a faint hint of an insincere suggestion that they haven't previously been primed on that. This of course is when "Grifters' Gripe Water" is so useful to have to hand, especially when it's worked wonders when choking on a porky pie of your own.

There's a delightful array of linens on offer, in particular beautiful duvet covers with hand embroidered homilies, I particularly liked the cheerful "Look Who's Got The Biggest Bedroom Now!" or "My SPARE Room Is Bigger Than Yours"

Also worth a mention are the delightful china dog bowls with lettering around the sides in an Emma Bridgewater fashion, maybe less food orientated but fun anyway, the standout one being "Willy Broke My Necklace" with a realistic decoration of a scattering of the colourful broken beads in the bowl part. Another has a humorous caricature of Harry head first into the dog bowl and that would be a delight for any young child, which could possibly be extended to cereal bowls too.

Some products will miss the mark though, "Sustainable Travalyst Tripe" would be one, I mean who wants to swallow a load of tripe, sustainable or otherwise shock My advice would be if going for meat products stick to the porky pies hmm that's what the general public are most familiar with.

There are numerous beauty products but what came out tops amongst trial focus groups was the brilliant "She Made Me Cry Shampoo" gives one's tresses an amazing shine.

So there you have it, a few positives smile

I saw that they were advertising for that role - talk about a poisoned chalice? Who would want to work in that position?

eazybee Fri 15-Mar-24 17:26:25

Brilliant!!
grin grin

Such a shame they closed their social media accounts.
They really do need to see this.

Same here😂
I particularly want the bowls.
They could add some chutney to go with the porky pies, a nice jar of ‘UK Taxpayers Choice’ tasty but tends to be hard to swallow and sticks in the throat.

Whethertomorrow Fri 15-Mar-24 18:11:09

Oh Terribull, how brilliant you are. You should make adverts you are bound to make better ones than we already get.

Whilst we're examining bad behaviour, let's take a look at the Royal Family.

The King was an adulterer who told his mistress he wanted to be her tampon. He was conducting his affair before he married an unworldly, 19 year old virgin and even telephoned his mistress on his honeymoon.

The Royal Family made Diana's life hell and did very little to help and guide her which was shameful and breathtakingly stupid. They also (including the Queen) enabled Charles' affair.

All very lovely so far.

His brother Andrew has had more dodgy dealings than Del Boy but at least Del Boy came from a disadvantaged background, He has also been implicated in paedophilia and knowingly continued to associate with Epstein after he had been released from prison for that very crime.

Even lovelier.

Prince Philip was an appallingly rude man. Please don't try to pass his behaviour off as side splitting humour, it wasn't and he directed his comments to those who could not possibly answer back.

Likewise Princess Margaret who was an utterly insufferable and entitled nasty piece of work.

I could go back a generation where the picture isn't any rosier but I feel I'm wasting my breath.

Fair enough if you think a RF is a better option than a republic. I don't agree but there are balanced arguments to maintain them. However, the blind adoration for this family is ridiculous.

Diana may well have been a virgin and it was the only requirement in these days otherwise Camilla would have better suited in so many ways, as we’ve all seen since.

However, unworldly isn’t a word I’d associate with someone who’s father had been an equerry to the Queen, whose maternal grandmother was a Lady of the Bedchamber and whose elder sister had already dated her target.

Her other older sister was married to the Queen’s aide so the idea that she was a complete novice in royal circles falls on its face somewhat for me.

That distinction falls to Catherine who has coped admirably with it all - methinks there’s something to be said for not having a bolter as an example of married life.

Frances/Diana, Susan/Fergie, Doria/Meghan prove my point, those that stay the course are made of tungsten!

Anniebach Fri 15-Mar-24 22:14:19

True Pantglas plus Diana’s childhood the Spencer’s lived in
Sandringham and holidayed in Balmoral, the late Queen attended the wedding of Diana parents, she was Godmother to
Diana’s brother

I take it you're not keen on them flappergirl
Or what you've read about them in gossip columns.
